Imaging Empthiess is an interdisciplinary study of the unconscious as imaged and understood in literary, religious and philosophical discourse. Synthesizing psychoanalytic and philosophical perspectives on the mind, I attempt to develop an understanding of the spatial imagery reflecting the nature of the unconscious.

Suite aux travaux de François Félix (2007) et de Jean-Philippe Ravoux (2005, 2007) se pose la question de la nature et du rôle de la notion d’inconscient dans la philosophie d’Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860). Cette problématique interne se double d’une question historique concernant le rapport de Schopenhauer à la psychanalyse freudienne. En effet, Schopenhauer est bien souvent associé – par des auteurs comme Clément Rosset ou Paul-Laurent Assoun – à cette première théorisation de l’inconscient. Freud lui-même le désignait comme l’un de ses précurseurs. D’où notre problématique : Schopenhauer peut-il véritablement être désigné comme l’un des précurseurs de Sigmund Freud ? Nous répondons à cette question en trois étapes. Dans un premier temps, en nous appuyant sur un relevé exhaustif de l’ensemble des passages dans lesquels cette notion apparaît, nous définissons et analysons de manière systématique le concept d’inconscient au sein de l’œuvre du philosophe. La seconde partie de cette thèse analyse la relation entre Schopenhauer et Freud. Nous cherchons ici à comparer le plus objectivement possible les conceptions schopenhauerienne et freudienne de l’inconscient, ainsi que de la pulsion, du refoulement, du ça, des rêves et de la folie. Enfin, poursuivant notre comparaison entre Schopenhauer et Freud, il s’agit pour nous de déterminer les points communs et les différences pouvant exister entre les conceptions schopenhauerienne et freudienne du sujet humain. / Not available

Information technologies have achieved an important role in archaeology. The management, research and exchange of the large amount of data gathered from archeological sites needs the tools of information technologies. The web based GIS combines the advantages of both GIS and the Internet technologies. This system can be used as a tool that helps to support the management of information for archaeological sites and provides support functions for specialists.This web based system can hold many types of archaeological site data from small excavation campaigns to large sites. The system consists of a relational database, a web server, and a GIS mapping server. Google Maps Server is used as a GIS mapping server in this study. The client computers require only the availability of a proper browser that supports javascript and ajax technologies. With this system, Google Maps can be used as an archaeological research tool for everybody interested in archaeology. In a general, everybody can reach the system using their web browsers in order to search and retrieve information regarding archaeological sites. This system also enables specialists to upload, search and share archaeological data. The aim of this study is to provide easy and simple access to the GIS related archaeological site information in Turkey, using a web based and user friendly interface and share the information the information with specialists all over the world.

Der Begriff "Böse" ist seinem Bedeutungsumfang nach derart allumfassend, dass es unmöglich erscheint, sich diesem substanziell zu nähern. Die Arbeit versucht daher, das Phänomen des Bösen über seine Personifikationen zu erfassen und diese anhand begriffsgeschichtlicher Methoden aufzuarbeiten. Dabei steht das Zeitalter der Aufklärung im Zentrum der Analyse, da sich in jener Epoche ein elementarer Wandel vollzog, der das bis ins 18. Jh. hinein religiös geprägte Bild des Bösen ins Reich der Mythen und Legenden verbannte, ohne jedoch seine Personifikation, den Teufel, gänzlich zu vernichten. Ausgehend von diesem wichtigen Schritt in der Geschichte des Abendlandes entwickelt die Arbeit einen roten Faden der Kulturgeschichte des Bösen, der sich von den biblischen Anfängen bis hin zu den heute geläufigen Vorstellungen zieht. Damit wird verdeutlicht, inwieweit die religiöse Vorstellung des Teufels ein Paradigma bilden konnte, welches epochenübergreifende Geltung gewann.
