Localisation d'un robot humanoïde en milieu intérieur non-contraint / Localization of a humanoid robot in a non-constrained indoor environment

Nowakowski, Mathieu 03 April 2019 (has links)
After the democratization of industrial robots, the current trend is the development of social robots that create strong interactions with their users. The deployment of such platforms in shops, museums or train stations raises various issues including the autonomous localization of mobile robots. This thesis focuses on the localization of Pepper robots in a non-constrained indoor environment. Pepper robots are daily used in many shops in Japan and must be as autonomous as possible. However, localization solutions in the literature suffer from the limitations of the platform. This thesis is split into two main themes. First, the problem of relocalization in a visually redundant environment is studied. The proposed solution combines vision and Wi-Fi in a probabilistic approach based on the appearance. Then, the question of a consistent metrical mapping is examined. In order to compensate the numerous losses of tracking caused by the low acquisition frequency, odometric constraints are added to a bundle adjustment optimization. These solutions have been tested and validated on several Pepper robots, from data collected in different indoor environments over more than 7 km.

Ανδρικόπουλος, Γεώργιος 18 May 2010 (has links)
This Diploma Thesis consists of the construction and operation, through the means of programming, of an experimental automated system which includes equipment such as pneumatic cylinders (classic or muscle type), position sensors etc. - combined or independent – and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which controls the functions of the automated system. The programming part is referred to the PLC. The experimental automated system that was constructed is that of a mechanical climber. The climber consists of 4 pneumatic cylinders / artificial muscles, the one end of which is attached to a common body. The other end is attached to a sliding mechanism which allows the movement of the muscles on the surface of the vertical aluminum beams that compose the climbing structure. A small pneumatic cylinder is attached on every sliding mechanism, which is used to stop the sliding of the muscles. The combined and successive outstroke and instroke of the cylinders causes the upward or downward movement of the climber’s body, which mimics in a way the movements of a human body while climbing a ladder. Those functions are designed so that the mechanical climber reaches a desired height, which is set by the user. The climb to the desired height can be executed with four (4) different movement patterns: 1) Climb using only the upper limbs. 2) Climb using only the lower limbs. 3) Climb using the upper and lower limbs simultaneously. 4) Climb using the upper and lower limbs and PID position control. The user can set the desired height and choose one of the four movement routines. During the first three movement patterns, the instroke and outstroke of the cylinders is done with the use of predetermined pressure values. In this way, during those patterns the position control approximates the ON/OFF control theory. During the fourth movement pattern, the climb is executed with the same ON/OFF way but the final position control is done by use of a PID controller. After the completion of a movement pattern, or even during movement, the user can always enable the descendance movement routine which returns the climber to its former position.

Virtual ergonomics for the design of collaborative robots / Ergonomie en environnement virtuel pour la conception de robots collaboratifs

Maurice, Pauline 16 June 2015 (has links)
The growing number of musculoskeletal disorders in industry could be addressed by the use of collaborative robots, which allow the joint manipulation of objects by both a robot and a person. Designing such robots requires to assess the ergonomic benefit they offer. However there is a lack of adapted assessment tools. This work presents a generic tool for performing accurate ergonomic assessments of co-manipulation activities, with very little input data. This tool relies on an evaluation carried out within a digital world, using a virtual manikin to simulate the worker. A framework is developed to enable the estimation of the different biomechanical solicitations which occur during manual activities. Multiple ergonomic indicators are defined and measured through a dynamic simulation of the considered activity. The virtual manikin is animated through a LQP optimization technique, and the robot is controlled according to the manikin-robot interaction force. The proposed framework is validated with motion capture experiments. However, the high number of indicators that are measured makes any kind of conclusion difficult for the user. Hence, a methodology for analyzing the sensitivity of the various indicators to the robot and task parameters is proposed. The goal of such an analysis is to reduce the number of ergonomic indicators which are considered in an evaluation, while sufficiently accounting for the global ergonomic level of the considered activity. Finally, an application of the proposed methodology is presented. The evaluation framework is linked to a genetic algorithm software in order to optimize the morphology of a collaborative robot for a given task.

Intégration de techniques de vérification par simulation dans un processus de conception automatisée de contrôle commande / Integration of simulation-based checking into an automated design approach of control-monitoring system

Prat, Sophie 06 December 2017 (has links)
Nowadays, engineers have to design open, complex and sociotechnical systems. The process control systems belong to this class of systems, in which the system performance relies on the joint optimisation of technical components and human components. To avoid the late discovery of design errors, it is necessary to perform tests throughout the design without adding design costs and delays. The aim of this work is therefore to facilitate the integration of checking by simulation, from early design stage, for process control systems such as fluid management systems. Regarding the adaptable feature of the system and its evolution in a dynamic environment, a first contribution focusses on the verification approach, by modelling the requirements within the context. Then, to facilitate the obtaining of the process simulation models required for checking throughout the design, we propose an automatic generation approach of simulation models in Modelica language (multi-domain modelling), from a P&ID model (modelling of the functional architecture of the process) and a library of elements (containing the simulation models of elements). To provide a proof of concept and a proof of use of our proposals, this approach has been implemented into Anaxagore, an automated design flow for monitoring and control.

Ospina Triviño, Andrés Felipe 28 April 2017 (has links)
Tactile sensing and slip detection plays an important role in enabling robotic dexterous object manipulation. Thus developing a high-resolution fully integrated tactile sensor system is of great interest. This work deals the design and implementation of an intrinsic tactile sensing system based on a set of 3-axis force MEMs sensors and the detection of slippage with such system. In order to create a tactile system the 3-axis force sensors are protected by a coating, a study about the coating is made. Two different intrinsic systems based on an array of 3-axis force sensors are developed, the first one is used a feasibility test of this kind of system. The second intrinsic system is adapted to a robotic finger with soft surface. The proposed systems measures three-force components, the normal torque to the contact surface, and the position of the contact centroid applied to its sensitive surface. Both systems are characterized and tested. The detection of slippage with an intrinsic tactile system is tested. The application of the limit surface theory and the viscoelastic model of contact make the detection of slippage.

Assistance to laparoscopic surgery through comanipulation / Assistance à la chirurgie laparoscopique par comanipulation

Dong, Lin 08 December 2017 (has links)
Traditional laparoscopic surgery brings advantages to patients but poses challenges to surgeons. The introduction of robots into surgical procedures overcomes some of the difficulties. In this work, we use the concept of comanipulation, where a 7-joint serial robotic arm serves as a comanipulator and generates force fields to assist surgeons. In order to implement functions like instrument gravity compensation, identifying real-time trocar position with respect to robot base is a prerequisite. Instead of obtaining trocar information from the registration step, we propose a robust trocar detection and localization algorithm based on least square method. Both in-vitro and in-vivo experiments validate its efficiency.Considering the characteristics of laparoscopic surgery, i.e., relatively large workspace and flexible operating objects, viscous fields are employed. To better adapt to different motion, we use a variable viscosity controller. However, this controller encounters an instability problem, which is analyzed both theoretically and experimentally. A solution of adding a first order low pass filter is proposed to slow down the variation of the viscosity coefficient, whose efficiency is evidenced by a point-to-point targeting experiment. With real-time trocar position known, the “lever model”, a formula describing therelationship of the velocities and forces of different instrument points, can be established. This allows implementing viscosity controller without using noisy signals at the center points of instrument handle and tip. Another point-to-point movement experiment is conducted to compare the features of the controller influence on human motion behaviors.

Modèle probabiliste hérarchique de la locomotion bipède / Probabilistic hierarchical model of biped locomotion

Rose-Andrieux, Raphaël 09 December 2016 (has links)
Humanoid robots have always fascinated due to the vast possibilities they encompass.Indeed, a robot with the same sensorimotor features as a human could theoretically carry out the same tasks. However, a first obstacle in the development of these robots is the stability of a bipedal gait. Bipedal walkers are inherently unstable systems experiencing highly dynamic and uncertain situations. Uncertainty arises from many sources, including intrinsic limitations of a particular model of the world, the noise and perceptual limitations in a robot's sensor measurements, and the internal mechanical imperfection of the system. In this thesis, we focus on foot placement to control the position and velocity of the body's center of mass. We start from a deterministic strategy, and develop a probabilistic strategy around it that includes uncertainties. A probability distribution can express simultaneously an estimation of a variable, and the uncertainty associated. We use a Bayesian model to define relevant variables and integrate them in the global frame.Another benefit of this model is that our objective is also represented as a probability distribution. It can be used to express both a deterministic objective and the tolerance around it. Using this representation one can easily combine multiple objectives and adapt them to external constraints. Moreover, the output of the model is also a probabilistic distribution which fits well in a hierarchical context: the input comes from the level above and the output is given as objective to the lower level. In this work, we will review multiple ways to keep balance and compare them to the results of a preliminary experiment done with humans. We will then extend one strategy to walking using foot placement to keep balance. Finally, we will develop a probabilistic model around that strategy and test it in simulation to measure its benefits in different contexts : integrating uncertainties, fusing multiple objectives and hierarchy.

Conception et commande d'une structure de locomotion compliante pour le franchissement d'obstacle / Design and control of a compliant locomotion structure for obstacle crossing

Bouton, Arthur 16 November 2017 (has links)
Performing an efficient locomotion on rough terrains is still a challenge for robotic systems of all kinds. “Wheel-on-leg” robots that try to combine energy efficiency of wheels with leg agility are an example with potentially very promising capabilities. Unfortunately, control of such structures turns out to be problematic because of the kinematic redundanciesand, above all, the difficulty of precisely evaluating the ground geometry as the robot advances. This thesis proposes a solution to the complexity of reconfigurable rolling systems by a synergic approach between compliance and actuation. To this purpose, we propose to exploit an ideally orthogonal decomposition between the different movements enabled by the robot suspension due to compliant elements. Then, the structure actuation is here dedicated to controlling the vertical forces applied on wheels, while the horizontal wheel displacements are due to a passive stiffness combined with a local modulation of wheel speed. The robot posture is controlled through the vertical forces servoing provided by a series elastic actuation. This ensures a spontaneous adaptation of wheel heights while keeping the control on load distribution. The feasibility of such a locomotion system is validated through a prototype based on four compliant “wheel-legs”. Entirely conceived as part of this study, this one approximates the proposed functional decomposition while meeting the realization and robustness constraints. We also present two control methods that take advantage of the functional decompositionproposed for the structure in order to cross obstacles. The first one aims to exploit the chassis inertia in order to perform a local modification of the vertical forces applied on wheels, while the second one is based on the selection of proper ways of distributing forces in order to be able to pursue a quasi-static advance in all circumstances. Two approaches are given for the production of the last control : either with a “Q-learning” algorithm or by determining parameterized expert rules. Validated by dynamic simulations in various situations, these controls rely only on proprioceptive data immediately provided by the measurement of articular variables. This way, the robot directly reacts when it touches obstacles, without having to know the ground geometry in advance.

Esteveny, Laure 09 December 2014 (has links)
In the context of interventional radiology, robotic-assisted surgery limits practitioners’ exposure to radiations and brings more accuracy to perform complex interventions. However, the presence of robot in the environment is a potential danger for the patient and the medical staff in case of unexpected interactions and manipulations. In this PhD thesis, we first focus on safety problems. An intrinsically safe mechanism is proposed. The achieved prototype allows to follow both planned trajectories and moving environments.Secondly, a guidance mechanism based on a passive approach is suggested. With a variable stiffness system, using a compliant mechanism, a resistive force is applied to the user which allows him to be guided in his gesture.Based on medical needs, we then study the possibility to integrate and generalize such systems to multiple degrees of freedom.
