ANALYSE DER HAUPTFIGUREN IM ROMAN ?SPIELTRIEB? VON JULI ZEH / Analysis of the Main Characters in the Novel "Spieltrieb" by Juli ZehMIKLASOVÁ, Tereza January 2011 (has links)
Undoubtedly, Juli Zeh is one of the most important and interesting current German female writers, who is gaining her reputation abroad as well. In her pieces, there are current issues and philosophical questions combined together and, therefore, she affects readers on several different levels. Novel ?Spieltrieb? isn´t different. The author introduces questions of freedom, guilt, will, violence and law in this novel ? and the individual characters throw light on the matters from different views. The objective of the diploma thesis is to present the way of these topics ?personalizing?, using a precise character analysis (analysis of the names, languages, private stories, corporalities and features of particular characters). The method which has been used for the analysis is close reading, based on a precise and combinatory reading. The analyses and reflections is supplemented an interview with the author.

Testverktyg för programvara skriven i AdaLindh, Hanna January 2005 (has links)

A National Mixed Methods Research Study: Defining Reasonable Accommodations in Higher Education for Adult Students with DisabilitiesSchwartz, Anita 01 January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine the perceptions that differ among university personnel and students with disabilities regarding the vagueness in the legal definition of the term reasonable accommodations. The theoretical framework that guided this study was the social model of disability. Using a sequential mixed-method design, the first strand surveyed 98 students and 93 personnel; then 10% of each group participated in an interview or focus group. The main research questions explored the different accommodations offered by university personnel versus those that were used by students and the different perceptions of the term reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADA law. A chi-square test was used to analyze yes/no survey data and a t test was used for the Likert scale question. In the first strand there were statistically significant findings in distribution and perception of 35 specific accommodations, including advocacy and counseling. Both focus group and interview data were analyzed and themes emerged, such as specific accommodations. An important finding from the qualitative strand was that more than half the students thought they were not receiving reasonable accommodations while the majority of university personnel thought they provided reasonable accommodations. The key result was the lack of a clear consensus between students with disabilities and university personnel in definitions of reasonable accommodations. Disseminating the results of this research study can create positive social change in the legislative and academic arenas by creating a better understanding of the impact of the current standard of reasonable accommodations. One recommendation is the creation of federal and state level commissions to administer, manage, and maintain policies for colleges.

An Examination Of The Implementation Of The Americans With Disabilities Act (Ada) In Mississippi Community CollegesArnold, John Carter 15 December 2007 (has links)
Community colleges face great challenges in dealing with students with disabilities. The purpose of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) is to extend protection against discrimination to individuals with disabilities. Although the Americans with Disabilities Act is very general and does not address specific situations, the fact is clear that colleges are mandated to provide equal educational opportunities for students with disabilities. Proper implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act is necessary not only to assure compliance with the law but also to assure that every student is afforded equal opportunity to achieve success in college. The problem of the study was to ascertain the extent to which the 15 community colleges in Mississippi have made efforts to provide equal access and equal educational opportunities in accordance with the ADA and with certain standards suggested in scholarly literature related to the topic of students with disabilities. The research suggests that a large part of the effort that has been made by community colleges to accommodate disabled students is reflected in both the policy and procedure manuals and in the operation of the disability services offices. The researcher studied the policy and procedure manuals and the operation of the disability services offices in the 15 Mississippi community colleges to examine the extent to which inclusions recommended by experts in the field are present. The study was divided into two parts. The first part was an examination of the availability and content of policy and procedure manuals to see if they contain what experts in the field consider necessary inclusions. The second part of the study included an examination of the background of the disability services administrators as well as a questionnaire to ascertain the disability services administrators’ perceptions about the operation of the disability services offices. The results of this study indicate that although Mississippi community colleges have made some progress in implementation of the ADA, there are areas that are lacking. For example, 40% of Mississippi community colleges do not have readily available policy and procedure manuals. Additionally, none of the policy and procedure manuals contains all of the inclusions recommended by both experts in the field and by the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)

Use of the Ada Language System in Configuration Control of Fortran-Based SoftwareDyke, Daniel L. 01 January 1985 (has links) (PDF)
The Configuration Control and Management of Trainer Systems Software has been recognized as a significant problem for many years. Many software tools are being developed for use as aids in this task. The efforts of the Department of Defense in the development of Ada and an Ada Programming Support Environment (APSE) have strongly addressed the problems of configuration control and management. However, these efforts have been targeted for Ada-based software as it is anticipated it will be the primary language of the DOD. The author feels that FORTRAN based software will require maintenance for many years even after the acceptance of Ada, and that the features of the APSE could be applicable to this task. The Ada Language System (ALS), which will soon be available, is the Army's implementation of the Ada Programming Support Environment. ALS has also been accepted by the Navy. This paper discusses the applicability of the ALS to the problem of FORTRAN-based software configuration control and management. A basic demonstration tool will be developed and analyzed. Ada is a registered trademark of the U.S. Government (Ada Joint Program Office).

Americans with Disabilities Act, title III complianceKuykendall, Rene D. 03 March 2009 (has links)
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law by President George Bush on July 26, 1990. Title III of the Act, Public Accommodations, went into affect January 26, 1992. The purpose of this study was to examine compliance by firms who own, manage, or lease buildings.
A study such as this was of great importance for the following reasons: both the disabled population and building owners, managers, and tenants are affected by this legislation; the ADA was not developed or intended to be a building code and is being enforced by the Justice Department; there is confusion in the existence of different compliance guidelines and the fact that some of the rulings are not clear or had not yet been finalized by January 26, 1992.
The specific objectives of the study were to examine the level of compliance, the compliance process, and the awareness and knowledge of Title III as well as the factors that influenced compliance or non-compliance among facility management professionals. Data was collected by a mail questionnaire which was sent to a random sample of 500 members of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) who are employed in American firms.
According to the returned questionnaires, more than half the respondents reported their compliance costs were less than $50,000 and signage was the feature most often altered. Nearly two-thirds of respondents reported they fell into the service category and just over three-fourths reported that their firms own the building(s) they occupy.
Findings of the study show that legal responsibility motivated respondents most. Respondents agreed most often with the attitude statements "accessibility is a right" and "the disabled make a valuable contribution" and the greatest problem encountered appears to be the lack of clarity of regulations. Just over three quarters of respondents complied before the deadline. Most firms are in the process of complying or have fully complied with Title III. / Master of Science

Definition and validation of software complexity metrics for AdaChappell, Bryan L. 08 September 2012 (has links)
One of the major goals of software engineering is to control the development and maintenance of software products. With the growing use and importance of the Ada programming language, control over the software life cycle of Ada systems is becoming even more important. Software complexity metrics have been developed to aid software engineers in the design and development of software systems. This research defines metrics for Ada and uses an automated analysis tool to calculate them. This tool can be used by the software engineer to help maintain control over Ada software products. The validation of this tool was performed by analyzing a medium-sized commercial Ada product. The flow of control and flow of information through the use of Ada packages can be measured. The results show that software complexity metrics can be applied to Ada and produce meaningful results. / Master of Science

Previous issue date: 2016-01-26 / UNIEDU / FUMDES / T. evansi causes a highly pathogenic disease in horses
popularly known as "Surra" or "Mal das Cadeiras". The
Pantanal (Brazil) outbreaks are recorded due to the large
population of horses. To date there are no effective
treatment methods causing major damage to livestock.
Trypanosomes present themselves vulnerable in relation
to the metabolism of purines as these organisms do not
have the pathway “De novo” of meeting their
requirements through the rescue of preformed bases and
demonstrate complete dependence of purines of their
hosts. Among the components of this system point out
that adenosine has its concentration controlled by the
enzyme adenosine deaminase (ADA). The objectives of
this study were to amplify, clone and sequence the ADA
gene from T. evansi DNA samples and express the
recombinant protein ADA. The coding region of the ADA
gene was amplified from genomic DNA of T. evansi and
yielded a sequence of 1857 bp showed high degree of
similarity (95%) ADA T. brucei. This region was cloned
into the pGEM-T vector Easy®. After digestion of
construct pGEM: ADA fragments were cloned into
expression vector pET30. The expression analysis by
SDS-PAGE demonstrated that the temperature of 18ºC
for 24 hours and 0,05 mM IPTG induction was the most
effective indicating molecular mass of approximately
68 kDa. The Western blot analysis detected the ADA enzyme in the protein extract of T. evansi only in the
insoluble fraction. The protein was solubilized and
purified by affinity chromatography. Through these
results the presence of ADA in T. evansi was confirmed.

T. evansi e expressar a proteína recombinante ADA. A

A análise Western-Blot detectou a enzima ADA no
SDS-PAGE e o Western-blot
confirmaram a eficiência destes protocolos.
