O chamado espaço público de convívio encarna a contradição dos interesses entre sujetividade, capital e estado, tornando esse ambiente ideologicamente tenso e descontínuo. Discutir sobre a validez social de uma obra de arte instalada em "lugar público", além de investigar os procedimentos conceituais e poéticos dos artistas, representa a reflexão sobre a tensão do conceito de "público", da sua materialização geográfica, política e histórica e sobre a formação de uma opinião pública que confere - ou não - essa validez. / Abstract: This research reflects upon the conditions of validation of the discourse of Art destined to public spaces. The so called public space of living incarnates interests contradictions between subjectivity, capital and sate, making this environment ideologically tense and discontinuos. Arguing about social validness of a work of art installed in a "public spot", beyond investigating conceptual and poetical proceedings of artist, represents refleting about the tension of the concept of "public". its geographical, political and historical materialization, and about the formation of a public opinion that confers - or not - this validness. / Mestre

A Sé é um espaço com uma referência simbólica muito forte para a cidade, apesar das transformações que passou ao longo do tempo. A mais radical ocorreu na década de 60, para a instalação do Metropolitano na região, e é dessa época também a instalação do seu Jardim de Esculturas, considerado um dos principais núcleos escultórios de São Paulo. Outros elementos também foram importantes para esta pesquisa, como a memória arquitetônica e a relação que as pessoas têm com seus lugares preferidos, considerando que o ser humano, é o elemento mais importante, dentro desse espaço construído, que é a cidade. / Abstract: This research about Public Art, retracts the New Sé's Square of São Paulo and theirs scultures. The Sé is a very strong symbolic reference space for city, even the transformations that has passed over through the years. The most radical happened on the 70's, for the Undergound subway installation of the region; and the Sculture's Garden is from this time as well, consider one of the principle Sculture's Nucleus from São Paulo. From this research others elements were important, like the arquitetonics memory and the relation that people have with theirs favorite places, considering the human the most important element in this built space, that is the city. / Mestre

Contudo, o reconhecimento deste tipo de prática enquanto arte ainda é paradoxal, pois tange diversos pontos problemáticos nas relações sociais. A intervenção chega aos olhos do espectador sem pedir permissão, insere-se no contexto urbano quase que naturalmente, e em alguns casos chega a se camuflar como se já fosse parte da arquitetura. Seja qual for a sua base estética, a intervenção urbana alcança um vasto espectro de espectadores, mesmo que eles não queiram. O que se pretende nesta dissertação não é catalogar de forma cartesiana os diversos estilos encontrados nas ruas, mas sim refletir acerca desta prática, sobre seu funcionamento, seus desdobramentos, em uma leitura mais densa e tanto quanto possível objetiva / Abstract: Street Art became a strong cultural manifestation during the last thirty years, creating a personal language and establishing itself into the art market. However, recognizing this practice as an art form is still a paradox. The intervention comes to the viewer's eyes without permission, inserts itself almost naturally into the urban context, and in some cases camouflages as it was already part of the architecture. Whatever the aesthetic bases are, the urban intervention reaches a huge specter of viewers, even if they don't want to. What is intended in this work is not to catalogue the different styles found in the streets in a Cartesian way, but supply a denser and as possible objective reading about this practice and also reflect about hot it works and unfolds / Mestre

A relação entre arte e comunicação é analisada com o apoio na obra denominada Wanted Julia Margareth Cameron, de Fred Forest. São avaliados os aspectos que levam o artista a idealizar e colocar em prática suas estratégias. As ferramentas utilizadas por Forest em suas obras e a articulação delas também são contempladas neste estudo. Além disso, o potencial publicitário nas criações de Fred Forest foi igualmente objeto de consideração / Abstract: This study aims to discuss the power of the media used for artistic creation, specifically the spontaneous media. The relationship between art and communication is analyzed with the support of the work called Julia Margaret Cameron Wanted by Fred Forest, evaluating the issues that lead the artist to create their actions. Orientador: Paulo José Brando Santilli / Banca: Celia Reis Camargo / Banca: Carlos Alberto Sampaio Barbosa / Banca: Neide Barrocá Faccio / Banca: Marisa Coutinho Afonso / Resumo: Tendo em vista as intensas pesquisas realizadas na área de pré-história e arqueologia, que buscam compreender a presença de antigos grupos humanos nas Américas, o presente trabalho volta-se para os registros rupestres do Seridó, analisando numa perspectiva da comunicação e das práticas ritualíticas em manifestação ao sagrado. Os estudos realizados até então sobre a temática, têm tido diferentes opiniões acerca desses registros, tanto em relação a sua finalidade quanto a sua interpretação. A região do Seridó, especialmente nos município de Carnaúba dos Dantas e Parelhas, apresenta uma rica quantidade de registros rupestres, e estando classificados dentro da Tradição Nordeste, possuem grafismos de ação que mostram, particularmente, a vida cotidiana de seus executores. As cenas de caça, dança, pesca e rituais demonstram como viviam esses grupos humanos e como eles interagiam com o ecossistema. Diante da necessidade de se comunicar e de demonstrar uma importância dada as suas ações cotidianas, esses grupos humanos realizaram tais pinturas em áreas especialmente escolhidas para esse fim, sendo estes na sua maioria, de caráter não habitáveis. Com isso, as pinturas rupestres nos levam a uma ótica de que tanto os grafismos quanto os locais onde estes se encontram possuem uma relação simbólica, e cujo significado impera sob a órbita do cotidiano. / Abstract: In view of the intense research carried through the area of prehistory and archaeology, that they search to understand the presence of old human groups in Americas, the present work is turned towards to rock-art registers of the Seridó, analyzing in a perspective of the communication and the ritualistic practices in manifestation to the sacred. The studies carried through until then about the topic, have different opinions about these registers, as much in relation its purpose as well its interpretation. The region of the Seridó, especially in the city of Carnaúba dos Dantas and Parelhas, present a rich amount of rock-art, and being classified inside of the Northeast Tradition, possess graphisms of action that they show, particularly, the daily life of its executors. The hunting scenes, dance, fishing and rituals demonstrate as these human groups lived and as they interacted with the ecosystem. Ahead of the necessity of communicating and demonstrating to a given importance its daily actions, these human groups had carried through such images in especially areas chosen for this aim, being these in its majority, of character not inhabitable. With this, the rock-art takes us to an optics of that as much the graphisms as well as the places where these meet, possess a relation between the symbol and its meanings and its sanctity. / Doutor

Orientador: Luisa Helena Christov / Resumo: Essa dissertação apresenta a reflexão sobre minhas experiências com o ensino e aprendizado em arte permitindo a (re) construção da trajetória como arte educadora e arquiteta que escolheu a profissão de professora de história da arte. Este trabalho concentra-se no efetivo encontro entre a sensibilidade, a intuição e o olhar reflexivo de alunos e professora, por meio das descobertas que ocorrem durante os projetos de ensinar e de aprender já realizados. Busca a construção do conhecimento sustentado na experiência de fruir e poetizar arte e na integração desse cotidiano no interior do ambiente universitário. Propõe uma reflexão entre arte-educação, seu ensino e aprendizado enfatizando o gesto criador, o despontar do olhar sensibilizado para as artes plásticas e a concepção das leituras de obras como processo de compreensão do mundo, desmistificando a obra de arte como objeto inatingível e de poucos. / Abstract: This dissertation shows a research about experiences and livings on the teaching and learning in art, which focus is the creation of path like education art teacher, of an architect that chose the profession of art teacher. This work has focus on the effective meeting among the sensibility, the intuition and the reflexive glance of students and teacher, through of discoveries that occurred during the projects realized. The works searches the creation of knowledge suppoted by the flow experience and to transform art in poetry and to ingrate this daily through of university environment. However, the work intends a reflection among education art, its teaching and learning put emphasis in the creative action, the emerging sensitive glance to the plastic arts an the conception of readings of works like world understanding process, taking ou the mystic of art work as a distant thing for a select group. / Mestre

Orientador: João Cardoso Palma Filho / Resumo: Esta dissertação de mestrado é uma pesquisa sobre como o contato com as artes, especificamente as artes visuais, pode interferir afirmativamente no letramento de alunos adultos, entendendo por letramento não apenas o domínio das tecnicas de leitura e escrita, mas o uso efetivo dessas competências para a realização pessoal. Para tanto a pesquisa compreende um panorama sobre a realidade de aquisição de letramento dos alunos de Educação de Jovens e Adultos(EJA), uma breve exposição das teorias de aprendizagem que incluíram a arte em seus pressuposto das atividades realizadas com os alunos, seus desdobramentos e finalizações, usando o texto escrito pelos alunos, como fundamento para as considerações finais. A pesquisa foi realizada durante as anos de 2005 e 2006 e envolveu alunos da Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental D. Pedro I, localizada no bairro de Vila Mariana, na cidade de São Paulo. / Abstract: This paper is a research about contact with arts, specifically visual arts, can interfere affirmatively on adult students' literacy, meaning "literacy" not just the knowledge of reading an writing techingques, but the effective use of these abillities for personal achievement. For that the research includes a view about the reality of acquisition of literacy by students of Education of young people and adults, a brief exposition of learning theories that included art in their porposes, a chapter about the relation between art and learning, the presentation of the activities done with the students, their developments and finishings, using the texts written by students as a base for the final considerations. The research was carried through during the years of 2005 and 2006 and involved students of the Municipal School of Basic Education D. Orientador: Luiza Helena da Silva Christov / Resumo: Esta pesquisa tem como proposta compreender o processo de ensino e aprendizagem das artes plásticas no interior de uma escola de samba, destacando aspectos deste processo que se diferenciam do ensino tradicional em situações escolares. O local pesquisado foi o barracão da escola de samba Sociedade Rosas de Ouro e procurei enfocar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem da arte ali estabelecido. Para este estudo, lanço mão também de minha experiência profissional como artista plástica, professora e profissional do carnaval: escultora e pintora nos barracões das escolas de samba de São Paulo desde 1995. Para a realização desta pesquisa, participei do processo de criação e confecção dos carros alegóricos para o desfile do carnaval paulistano de 2006 na escola de samba Sociedade Rosas de Ouro como profissional do carnaval, trabalhando como pintora artística das esculturas e carros alegóricos. Escolhi a Rosas de Ouro por ser uma escola na qual trabalhei em vários processos carnavalescos, e o fato de conhecer e já ter trabalhado diversas vezes com a maioria dos profissionais do barracão desta escola me facilitou muito a pesquisa, pois já existia uma relação de amizade entre nós, já conhecia seus anseios e dificuldades enfrentadas no dia-a-dia de trabalho no barracão. Presenciei e participei todos os dias, das 10:00 h até às 20:00 h, durante o mês de dezembro de 2005 e os meses de janeiro e fevereiro de 2006, do trabalho no barracão e do processo de criação e aprendizagem que se estabeleceu entre o carnavalesco, as equipes de profissionais, assistentes, ajudantes e aprendizes. Destaco como resultados o aprendizado que ocorre com a vivência e convivência entre os especialistas e aprendizes no barracão da escola de samba, das tentativas experimentais do fazer, do praticar, e da improvisação, e a minha trajetória como profissional do carnaval nos barracões das escolas de samba de São Paulo como uma aprendiz da arte. / Abstract: This research has as proposal to understand the process of education and learning of the plastic arts in the interior of a samba school, being detached aspects of this process that if they differentiate of traditional education in pertaining to school situations. The searched place was the large cabin of the samba school Society Gold Roses and looked for to focus the process of education and learning of the art established there. For this study, throwing hand also of my professional experience as plastic artist, teacher and professional of the carnival: sculptor and painter in the large cabins of the schools of samba of São Paulo since 1995. I chose the Gold Roses for being a school in which I worked in some processes, and the fact to know and already to have worked diverse times with the majority of the professionals of the large cabin of this school facilitated the research very to me, therefore already a relation of friendship between us existed, already it knew its yearnings and difficulties faced in day-by-day of work in the large cabin. I witnessed and I participated every day, of 10:00 h until 20:00 h, during the month of December of 2005 and the months of January and February of 2006, of the work in the large cabin and the process of creation and learning that if established between the teams of professionals, assistants, assistant and apprenticees. I detach as resulted the learning that occur with the experience between the specialists and apprenticees in the large cabin of the samba school, of the experimental attempts of making, of practising, and of the improvisation, and my trajectory as professional of the carnival in the large cabins of the schools of samba of São Paulo as an apprentice of the art. / Mestre

Antes, porém, são feitos aqui dois percursos históricos: o primeiro tratando da relação imagem/palavra na arte ocidental desde o surgimento da escrita até a contemporaneidade; e o segundo refere-se à biografia do artista demonstrando a diversidade de suas criações e de sua contribuição para a vanguarda artística brasileira. Por fim, as análises de alguns trabalhos de Antonio Dias, dividindo-os em fases nas quais se percebe a transição da composição formal para a conceitual, terminando com os trabalhos que o artista chama de diagramas. As análises basearam-se em conceitos da gestalt e da semiótica pierciana, considerando o contexto histórico de cada obra e estabelecendo, em alguns momentos, paralelos entre a construção compositiva dos diagramas e a poesia concreta. É válido dizer ainda que as entrevistas concedidas pelo artista à Autora foram de grande importância para o trabalho, bem como outras fontes que embasaram as análises / Abstract: This work deals with the works done by the artist Antonio Dias between 1960 and 1970 and are made with pictures and words. First, however, are made here two histories: the first dealing with the relationship picture / word in Western art since the advent of writing to the contemporary, and the second refers to the biography of the artist showing the diversity of his creations and his contribution to the Brazilian artistic vanguard. Finally, there is the analysis of some works of Antonio Dias, dividing them into phases in which one perceives the transition from the conceptual to the formal composition, ending with the works that the artist calls diagrams. Analyses were based on the concepts of semiotics and gestalt piercian, considering the historical context of each work and doing, in some instances, compositional parallels between the construction of diagrams with concrete poetry. It is still valid to say that interviews with the author by the artist, as well as through other vehicles also were critical to support analysis / Mestre

A pesquisa está dividida em quatro capítulos traçando um caminho que busca pensar o espaço ocupado pelo feminino, pela cerâmica, pela arte e suas transformações, e pelo trabalho da artista inserido neste panorama. O primeiro capítulo traz uma breve narrativa do papel da mulher e suas conquistas através da história. O segundo capítulo versa sobre transformações das Linguagens Artísticas no século XX e a produção tridimensional. O terceiro capítulo discorre sobre a importância da produção artística cerâmica. O quarto, último capítulo, apresenta a reflexão sobre o aspecto integrativo da obra da artista plástica Celeida Tostes e sua grande contribuição para a inserção da arte cerâmica na área academica e no campo das artes plásticas / Abstract: This presentation is the result of a deep study into the integrative aspect of the work of Celeida Tostes (1929-1995). The research is divided into four chapters tracing a path that seeks to think of the space occupied by women, pottery, art, and its transformation and the artist's work inserted in this panorama. The first chapter provides a brief description of the role of women throughout history and their achievements; the second chapter deals with the transformation of artistic expressions in the twentieth century and three-dimensional production; the third chapter discusses the importance of the artistic ceramic production and the fourth and last chapter presents a reflecton of the integrative aspect of the work of the artistic Celeida Tostes and her great contribution to the insertion of ceramic art in academia and in the field of fine arts / Mestre
