<p>Preface: Establishing assembly and production facilities has traditionally constituted the possibility for companies to avoid high import duties, or a possibility to establish themselves in free-trade areas.</p><p>Purpose statement: This thesis is intended for companies that explore their possibilities to establish an assembly plant in Brazil. The aim is to try to interpret and to create an understanding concerning which factors can have an influence when relocating production activities abroad.</p><p>Research method: The basis for this study has been internal information from Tetra Pak along with literature. The study has been carried out as case study based research where interviews and articles have formed the basis for the gathering of data.</p><p>Results: For companies that want to establish long-term production, Brazil possesses the prerequisites required. However, not all areas in Brazil are adequate for establishing an assembly plant – industries are mainly concentrated to the federal states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and these are therefore the areas best suited for production activities.</p>

This area of research focuses on the use of video projections in the context of fine art. Emphasis is placed on creating a unique video installation work that incorporates assemblage and appropriation as a means to develop multiple complex geometrical surfaces for video projection. The purpose of this research is to document a working process within a pre-defined set of guidelines that is influenced from my past work and the study of other artist?s prior work. Research includes the demonstration of the entire working process to create this original work and recommendations for future artists who wish to work in this medium.

Temporal variations of macroalgal cover and biomass (wet weight and dry weight) abundance and assemblage structure, and also the relationships between abiotic factors and assemblage structure, were studied in northeastern Taiwan (GPS: 25o06¡¦80¡¨N; 121o54¡¦60¡¨E¡^during 2001-2003. This study also investigated the causes affecting Gelidium natural resource and its management. Twenty-seven families with 67 species (5 families with 13 species for Chlorophyta, 3 families with 8 species for Phaeophyta, 19 families with 46 species for Rhodophyta) were recorded. The dominant species such as Pterocladiella capillacea and Polyopes polyideoides belong to temperate species. Macroalgal coverage, areal biomass, diversity, eveness and assemblage structure during 2001-2003 showed significant temporal changes with year and seasonal variations; however, the seasonal rhythm is changing between years. The seasonal pattern is different between 2001 and 2002/2003, biomass peaked in spring of 2002 and 2003. Pterocladiella capillacea, Polyopes polyideoides, Marginisporum crassissimum, Jania ungulate and Chondrus ocellatus contribute to temporal variations in assemblage structure. The results of multi-variate and uni-variate analysis suggest significant temporal variations in macroalgal assemblage structure in northeastern Taiwan, and the data from ANOSIM and SIMPER analysis demonstrated that the seasonal pattern was variable between years, in which it is coincident with seasonal variations in macroalgal abundance. Water temperature, summer high temperature, winter low temperature, nutrient and typhoon are attributable to temporal variations in macroalgal assemblage structure. Low temperature in winter, nutrient availability, and also typhoon restrict the natural resource of Gelidium in northeastern Taiwan; it is hypothesized that low P condition together with enhanced collection deep the decline of Gelidium resource, finally limiting the recovery of Gelidium population in next year. We found that the agar contents of Pterocladiella capillacea showed year and season variations with a negative relationship to biomass. Temporal fluctuations in agar contents was enhanced by low temperatures and high P but decreased by high N. Based on the observations, we conclude that over-collection in winter results in a decline of Gelidium resource in the coming years, thus it could be suggested that winter collection has to be controlled to maintain the sustainable utilization of Gelidium in northeastern Taiwan.

Rove beetles (Staphylinidae) in Ontario soybean-hedgerow agroecosystems were surveyed in 2009-2010 to identify common, widespread species and assess their potential biological control of Soybean Aphid and Bean Leaf Beetle. The spatiotemporal distributions, habitat use, and co-occurrence of staphylinids with soybean pests were studied to provide a framework for future agroecological studies of biocontrol services in soybean. A taxonomic review of the Staphylinina (Staphylinidae: Staphylininae) (‘large rove beetles’) for the geographic area of study was conducted and identification keys were created to assist in future staphylinid research. Common soybean staphylinids were generally exotic, penetrated field interiors, utilized hedgerow habitat outside the growing season and co-occurred with pest populations during vulnerable life stages. Several species exhibited nocturnal activity in soybean foliage. Biocontrol of overwintering Soybean Aphid and Bean Leaf Beetle populations in hedgerows by staphylinids may occur in buckthorn canopies and leaf litter, respectively.

Darbų tikslas išlaikyti tiesiogines prisiminimų, emocijų sąsajas, prilyginat užmarščiai. Daiktai - geri ar blogi – vis tiek bus užmiršti, kaip ir žmonės. Baigiamasis darbas susideda iš dviejų dalių: teorinio aprašo ir praktinio kūrybinio darbo. Teorinėje dalyje pateikta teorinė analizė, darbo eiga, ieškojimų kelias, atlikimo technikos ir praktinis pritaikymas pedagoginiame darbe. Praktinę kūrybinę dalį sudaro trijų darbų kolekcija: asambliažai ant faneros (100x120 cm), atlikti mišria technika, tapybos technika aliejiniais dažais. Šis asambliažas – tapybos darbų ciklas - nėra skirtas konkrečiai aplinkai. Darbai gali būti eksponuojami parodinėse erdvėse ir visuomeninės paskirties interjere. / Each of us understands art in different way. Something what let people to see other side of life. As we know art is all around us. We are all born to be an artist, but everyone brings into beauty creation his little or big part. I also hope to bring my contribution into creating art. My thesis topic: "Oblivion". Works to maintain direct links between emotional memories associated with the disappearance. Good or bad stuff will still be forgotten, as people. The final work consists of two parts: theoretical and practical description of the creative work. The theoretical section presents the theoretical analysis, workflow, searching their way, technique and practical application of the pedagogical work. The practical part consists of three creative collection of works (100x120 cm) had a mixed assemblage - painting techniques with oil paint on plywood. This assemblage - the cycle of paintings is not intended for a specific environment. Works can be exhibited: hall public spaces and interiors.

This project examines the relationship between form and the resultant space that it encloses, through a process of assembly. The process consists of assembling materials in Phase 1, and assembling parts cut-out from a homogenous ceramic form in Phase 2. Embedded in the act of assembly is the designer's ability to construct the object in multiple formal configurations. Manipulating the form (solid) results in mutation of the space (void) held within and in-between the solid, and vice-versa. Four formal concepts guide the process of assembly in this study: interplay of solid and void, manipulation of the material skin, dynamic visual motion, and light as a building materialThe research in this paper consists of literature survey, precedent studies on two ceramic artists, and analysis of art exhibits.The significance of this project lies in its ability to blur the boundaries between academic disciplines of metalsmithing and ceramics, art and architecture. This thesis maps out the phenomenological and ontological contours of ‘hope’ in an attempt to challenge traditional individualistic, psychologized, and normative accounts, and to reconceptualise hope as a practice of control. Spinoza and Deleuze’s theory of affect is used to develop an understanding of the ‘hoping body’ as the effect of a symbiotic encounter with a conglomerate of forces. The spatio-temporal dynamics and relations of power at work in this larger conglomerate are also explored through Deleuze and Guattari’s assemblage theory. Ultimately, this thesis argues that hope inaugurates complex practices of mobility control by operating as a claim about the necessity of a particular pathway and vehicle in the present that is grounded on the possibility of a desirable destination in the future. / Graduate
