This diploma thesis deals with various procedures of surface pretreatment of steel and aluminum alloy for subsequent application of powder coating substance. The work begins with an overview of the general characteristics of the materials used. The core part of the work is then a summary of the individual methods of pretreatment that can be used to modify the material surface. A special chapter is devoted to methodologies for the application of powder substances. Before separate application, the sample must first be carefully pretreated to ensure removal of organic compounds (e.g. oils from primary processing - grinding, cutting), or dust impurities to ensure the correct barrier effect. After dividing the individual methods of surface preparation, a powder paint system with a total thickness of approximately 50 µm is applied to the test material. Samples with different surface pretreatments will be compared both in terms of mechanical properties and in terms of electrochemical properties.

Modifikace charakteru rozhraní substrát-nástřik vrstev deponovaných technologiemi žárového nanášení pomocí technologie elektronového paprsku / Modification of coating-substrate interface character of thermally sprayed coatings using electron beam technology

Tato práce je zaměřena na modifikaci charakteru rozhraní substrát-nástřik NiCrAlY povlaků nanesených pomocí technologie vodou stabilizované plazmy na substráty z oceli S235JRC+C. Přetavení žárové vrstvy elektronovým paprskem bylo zvoleno jako technologie pro modifikaci a dvě různé modifikace byly zkoumány. V práci byl proveden pokus o stanovení vlivu modifikací na adhezní vlastnosti nástřiku. Dále jsou v práci prezentovány analýzy mikrostruktury, fázového a chemického složení a mikrotvrdosti ve stavu před a po modifikaci. Během studie bylo zjištěno, že dochází ke změnám fázového složení jak během depozice, tak během modifikace elektronovým paprskem. Modifikace elektronovým paprskem způsobila roztavení oxidů původní mikrostruktury nástřiku, které následně rekrystalizovaly na povrchu modifikované vrstvy. Dalším získaným poznatkem bylo, že dochází ke snížení mikrotvrdosti po modifikaci, což bylo způsobeno odstraněním oxidů z mikrostruktury a promícháním materiálu substrátu a původního nástřiku. Adheze nástřiků v as sprayed stavu byla kvantifikována. V případě nástřiků modifikovaných elektronovým paprskem přesná kvantifikace nebyla možná, z důvodu předčasného porušení na rozhraní nástřik-adhezivní pojivo během adhezních testů.

I fordonsindustrin är kemisk renlighet ett grundläggande kriterium för att säkerställa kvaliteten och hållbarheten hos den slutliga produkten. Kemisk renlighet kan defineras som den maximala nivån av kemiska föroreningar (t.ex. olja, fett, ytaktiva ämnen, kemikalier, etc.) som är tillåten på ytan av en produkt, men som tillåter produkten att fortfarande fungera som normalt. En ren yta fri från kemiska föreningar kommer således att säkerställa en robust binding mellan olika substrat. Syftet med den här rapporten är att undersöka och fastställa en kvantiativ method för att utvärdera kemisk renlighet för Formed in Place Gaskets (FIGP). De instrument som kommer att användas för att analysera nivån av kemisk kontaminering (rengöringsmedel) är: F-Scanner, SITA CleanoSpector och Krüss MSA One-Click SFE Mobile Analyzer. För att anvgöra hur nivån av kontaminering (rengöringsmedel) påverkar silikonens tätningsförmåga kommer dolly pull-off adhesionsprov och dragprov att användas. Resultatet visar att F-Scanner och SITA CleanoSpector kan skilja mellan olika nivåer av kontaminering (rengöringsmedel). Dock kan det från dolly pull-off adhesionsprov och dragprov inte dras någon slutsats om att en högre koncentration av kontaminering (rengöringsmedel) leder till en lägre adhesionsstyrka. / In the automotive industry chemical cleanliness is a fundamental criterion for ensuring the quality and durability of the final product. Chemical cleanliness can be defined as the maximum level of chemical contaminants (e.g. oil, grease, surfactants, chemical residues, etc.) permitted on the surface of a part, that still allows the part to function as normal. Hence, a clean surface that is free of chemical contaminants will ensure a robust adhesive bond between different substrates. The following thesis aims to investigate and establish a quantitative method to evaluate chemical cleanliness applicable to Formed in Place Gaskets (FIGP). Different instruments: F-Scanner, SITA CleanoSpector, and Krüss MSA One-Click SFE Mobile Analyzer, for surface analysis will be investigated and used to determine the level of chemical contamination (detergent) on the surface. To determine how the level of contamination (detergent) affects the adhesion properties of sealant, the dolly pull-off adhesion test and tensile test will be used. The results show that the F-Scanner and SITA CleanoSpector can distinguish between different levels of contamination (detergent). Estudo da aderência de arames da armadura de tração em conectores de dutos flexíveis / Study of adhesion of tensile armor wiles in connectors for flexible pipelines

Este projeto tem o objetivo de apresentar o estudo dos arames da armadura de tração que são empregados no transporte de óleo, gás e umbilicais hidráulicos na indústria petrolífera. Este estudo foi desenvolvido sob a necessidade de melhor ancoragem dos arames da armadura de tração de modo a garantir que, mesmo após a ruptura do arame dentro do conector não haverá o escorregamento do mesmo provocando a queda do duto flexível. Assim sendo, foi estabelecido o estudo de aderência da interface dos arames da armadura de tração dos dutos flexíveis. Com os ensaios concluídos se estudou um novo procedimento para o melhoramento de aderência mecânica dos arames com a resina epóxi. Após os ensaios de aderência e adesão concluídos foi realizado ensaio de tração em cada arame da armadura de tração sob sua montagem no conector de extremidade para verificação de carregamento que chegam nos ganchos dos arames da armadura de tração. Os estudos realizados no conector de extremidade de 2,5 demonstram que os ganchos dos arames da armadura de tração são de grande importância para a integridade estrutural do duto flexível, visto que o cone de resina formado dentro do conector não está em contato com toda a área dos arames das armaduras de tração. / This project aims to present the study of tensile armor wires usually employed in the transport of oil, gas and hydraulic umbilicals in the petroleum industry. This study was developed as a need for better anchoring of the tensile armor wires in order to guarantee that even after the rupture of the wire within the connector it will not slip causing the fall of the flexible riser. Thus was established the adhesion study of the interface of the tensile armor wires of the flexible risers. After the end of the tests a new procedure for improving mechanical adhesion between the wires and the epoxy resin was studied. After the end of the adhesion tests tensile test was performed on each wire of the tensile armor under its mounting on the end fitting for checking the loading that reaches the hook of the armor wires. The trials performed in the 2.5end fitting show that the tensile armor wire hooks are of great importance for the structural integrity of the flexible riser, as there is no contact between the resin cone formed within the end fitting and the tensile armor wires area.

A spin-cast silicone membrane has been successfully bonded between two injection-molded microstructured plastic discs. This sandwich structure creates a useful platform for mass production of microfluidic systems, provided that the bonds are leakproof. The bonds were achieved by a silicon dioxide coating deposited on the plastic discs by evaporation. This investigation is concerned with the process and the result only, no theory is discussed.
