Westhues, Andreas 12 June 2005 (has links) (PDF)

Hochfeste und hochleitfähige Cu-Ag-Leitermaterialien / Cu-Ag-alloys with high strength and high conductivity

Gaganov, Alexander 22 December 2010 (has links) (PDF)

Adhesion of silver nanoparticle amendments to ceramic water filters

Mikelonis, Anne Marie 17 September 2015 (has links)
Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) are frequently added as a disinfectant to ceramic filters used for household drinking water treatment. To provide suspension phase particle stability, Ag NPs can be synthesized using a number of different molecules to cap the metal core. The goal of this doctoral work was to advance the fundamental understanding of how stabilizing agents influence the attachment and detachment of Ag NPs from ceramic water filters. To achieve this goal, deposition experiments onto Al₂O₃ membranes and clay-based ceramic filters were performed using Ag NPs stabilized by three different agents: citrate, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and branched polyethylenimine (BPEI). Laboratory and field- scale filtration experiments were also conducted to evaluate the removal of Ag NPs from ceramics under different water conditions -- the presence of hardness and natural organic matter (NOM). Citrate-stabilized Ag NPs were found to have the highest attachment densities, regardless of filter material. Differing attachment densities for the three types of Ag NPs were extensively explained using a combination of classic Derjaguin, Landau, Verwey and Overbeek (DLVO) theory, steric forces, and particle-particle interaction energy calculations. A multilevel statistical model was built to describe the removal of Ag NPs from ceramic water filters under different water conditions. The type of Ag NP was found to affect the initial release of Ag from the filters, while the interaction of the type of Ag NP and water were found to affect the rate of removal. Hardness and NOM prolonged the release of Ag from ceramic water filters.

Die Bedeutung des Informationsaustausches innerhalb von Kooperationen. Dargestellt anhand des ECR-Ansatzes am Beispiel von Triumph International.

Walenta, Christoph Erich January 2005 (has links) (PDF)
Increasing competition demands more efficient processing of the value added chain. High flexibility to meet specific customer demands, increasing cost pressure as well as granted on-time delivery have become critical factors to survive in the global market. It is a well known fact throughout the entire business world, that competition is increasing and it becomes tougher and tougher for an organization to keep or even increase market share. In order to meet the increasing pressure, companies have to build closer relationships with their suppliers and customers. Furthermore to succeed in the market, these relationships called alliances, demand harmonized and cooperative sharing of activities, and the exchange of timely data, and information. Therefore, to receive an optimal flow of information throughout the entire supply chain is important. Alliances are a form of business practice managed from a total supply chain perspective. According to empirical studies, Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) Management offers extraordinary potential to optimise efficiency and is a common strategy used in industry and trade. Suppliers and retailers must work together to improve the global efficiency of the Supply Chain and develop a means to reduce completely the cost incurred throughout the whole trade cycle, from production to the final sale stages. This results in a better service in terms of freshness, availability and quality of products for the consumer. (...) The management of Triumph International anticipates high expectations regarding the use of ECR as a means of obtaining good results through the exchange of shared information through EDI that has been achieved so far. Going forward Triumph International will continue to convince suppliers to following this approach to jointly take advantage of savings potentials. Elementary School Teachers' Perception of Agricultural-Related Literature

Leventini, Alexa Marie 03 October 2013 (has links)
Throughout the construction of the United States, agriculture and education have been closely intertwined—until recent years. In 1981, agricultural professionals, educators and policy makers noted the decline in standard agricultural curriculum and a need was established for accurate, realistic and representative materials of American agriculture for the classroom. This issue of agricultural literacy has become an imminent concern in today’s agricultural industry. With these rising concerns of agricultural literacy and the future of agriculture as a whole, this study was aimed at measuring and identifying elementary school educators’ perceptions of the current agricultural literature that is available in their classrooms. In order to assess the knowledge and perceptions of the agricultural-related literature in classrooms, a study of kindergarten through fourth grade teachers was performed. This study utilized a descriptive summated scale instrument. This study focused on elementary school teachers’ perceptions of the available agricultural related literature in their classrooms. This study determined the educators’ perceived accuracy of the literature as well as their perceived perceptions of the elementary school students’ knowledge of modern day agriculture. The accuracies and inaccuracies of the literature, how the literature affects the students’ knowledge of agriculture, and if the teachers perceive a need for agricultural literature in their classrooms were also identified through this descriptive survey. This paper explores these perceptions of agricultural-related literature as well as student knowledge of agriculture and makes recommendations for Agriculture in the Classroom programming.
