The theoretical basis is the Sociology of Practice of Pierre Bourdieu and the development took place through theoretical research (bibliographical research, consultation of books, magazines, articles), documentary research (projects, reports, magazines, reports, , statistical archives, among other sources), and also by means of immersion in the field, addressing the agents and institutions delimited and the traditional peasantry and settlements of the municipality of Jataí. From the research carried out, it was identified that education plays a central role in the social reproduction process of the peasantry and directly interferes in the (re) capitalization or decapitalization of this social segment within the agrarian field, since it interferes mainly in the production, distribution and marketing of their products and family income, which is largely responsible for maintaining the peasantry in the countryside and on the land. / Esta tese é fruto de pesquisa desenvolvida no âmbito do curso de Doutorado em Educação, do Programa de Pós-Graduação da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal de Goiás, na linha de pesquisa: Educação, Trabalho e Movimentos Sociais, com o objetivo de elucidar o papel da educação na reprodução camponesa, por meio da análise das práticas educativas ofertadas pelos diferentes agentes e instituições que lidam com o campesinato no campo agrário jataiense. A base teórica é a Sociologia da Prática de Pierre Bourdieu e o desenvolvimento se deu por meio de pesquisa teórica (pesquisa bibliográfica, consulta de livros, revistas, artigos), pesquisa documental (projetos, relatórios, revistas, informes,jornais, atas de reuniões, arquivos estatísticos, dentre outras fontes) e, ainda, por meio da imersão em campo, abordando os agentes e instituições delimitadas e o campesinato tradicional e de assentamentos do município de Jataí. A partir da pesquisa realizada, identificou-se que a educação tem um papel central no processo de reprodução social do campesinato e interfere diretamente na (re)capitalização ou descapitalização desse segmento social no interior do campo agrário, pois interfere, principalmente, na produção, distribuição e comercialização de seus produtos e na renda familiar, responsável, em boa medida, pela manutenção do campesinato no campo e na terra.
