Aktivisté na cestách za zapatisty / Activists on the Road to the Zapatista Territory

Kuřík, Bohuslav January 2010 (has links)
Thesis "Activists on the Road to Zapatista Territory" gives a resonance of actual results of my research among activists in Chiapas and Germany with contemporary theories. Based in theories of globalization and social movement and in dialogue with fieldwork data, it elaborates proper analytical concepts. These concepts enable to study journeys of activists to the Zapatista territory in Mexican state of Chiapas. Thesis aims to follow concepts of neo- zapatistas networks, which emerged around indigenous Zapatists and spread all over the World. Middle-Class activists from Germany enter these networks while travelling to Chiapas. Thesis scrutinize the nature of six months' journeys of activists and especially focus on transformation of so-called Imaginative knowledge of the World to Experienced knowledge of the World in the context of exoticism, poverty and Zapatista resistence.

Projekt Nové Vyklice Paměť a spolkový aktivismus ve snaze obnovit zaniklou obec na Ústecku / The New Vyklice Project The Memory and The Society Activism in the Effort to restore the defunct Commune in Ústí nad Labem Region

Růžičková, Ivana January 2011 (has links)
The subject of this thesis deals with the project of restoration of the defunct village Vyklice by society of its former habitants. This project is unique for they are the only former habitants of a commune that had to be liquidated due to the coal mining who are striving to restore it under the same name and on the same place. The answer to the question where has this idea appeared led me to the analysis of their society activism. On the background of their attempts I have identified wider "community of memory" of former friends from Vyklice. These people had been involuntarily displaced from their rural environment and resettled in the nearby housing estate. After that they felt nostalgia for their lost homes and were reflecting that on spontaneously formed reunions. The main subject of their recollections was the former society life in Vyklice. The most active ones in the community have than created a new "society", Society of inhabitants of Vyklice, among others to try to restore the old Vyklice. At first the idea was only one of the means to enhance their memory activities. Gradually, along with the political support of their effort, the project had become the main goal of the society, which still allows the whole community of memory to be continuously reaching their original goal, which was to meet...

Evropský soudní dvůr jako politický aktér / The European Court of Justice as a political actor

Vikarská, Zuzana January 2012 (has links)
The ECJ as a Political Actor In both the US and in the EU, the judiciary is often accused of being political. This thesis does not attempt to compare and contrast the two grand judiciaries; they are too dissimilar to be compared in this context. It only deals with the judiciary of the EU, trying to analyse its presumably 'political' character: why is it that political and legal scholars label the Court as 'political' or 'activist'? This thesis seeks to investigate the validity of these accusations by proposing a synthesis of various political theories and a certain clarification of the terminology in the context of the European judiciary. Chapter 1 deals with the ECJ as an institution, discussing its functioning and its presumably constitutional character. Chapter 2 then focuses on the notions of 'politics' and 'political', firstly in terms of their definitions by various authors and consequently in terms of the various political theories of European integration. Chapter 3 then deals with the central question of the thesis: is the ECJ a political actor or not? The analysis in the third chapter is split into five dimensions: (1) the judges' motivations in adjudication, (2) the appointment of judges, (3) the subject-matter of the Court's adjudication, (4) the institutional balance within the Union,...

Motivace, projevy a cíle culture jammingu v českém prostředí / Motivation, strategies and goals of culture jamming in czech surroundings

Benešová, Zuzana January 2017 (has links)
The phenomenon of culture jamming is not so well known in the Czech Republic. So I decided to focus on defining this term, which is sometimes translated as cultural sabotage. At the beginning of this dissertation work, I try to introduce important theories that are related to the central concept. I also focus on how culture jamming most often express and what forms are most common. In the part of examples of culture jamming in the world, I try to describe the important foreign culture jamming's groups, including demonstrations of their actions and performances. In the same way I map the Czech culture jamming groups. For a better illustration and approximation of the concept, the whole of this theoretical part is supplemented with a picture attachment. Part of the dissertation work is also a research part, which focuses on the mapping of culture jamming in the Czech Republic. Above all, I try to find out what are the motivations, speeches and goals of Czech cultural saboteurs.

Tradiční technika vyšívání v současném umění / Traditional technique of embroidery in contemporary art

Tocar, Sofia January 2017 (has links)
The present master's thesis discusses the traditional textile technique of embroidery in the context of contemporary art and analyses the way in which this craft technique has evolved from its invention to this day. The historical development points at the inevitable link between this artistic technique and women's history in Western societies, where embroidery strove to maintain stereotypes on femininity. In the twentieth century, embroidery as well as other textile techniques take on a new, subversive quality which enables the beginning of a social dialogue through art. It becomes a part of the public space in the form of banners in demonstrations or craftivist interventions in city streets. It tries to free itself from stereotypes and become an accessible technique for which the artistic process is as important as the finished piece. The work of contemporary artists reveals the shifting position of textile art, which cannot be considered as a simple offshoot of artistic craftsmanship for it has turned into in an autonomous and widely used medium of expression in current artistic production.

Aktivismus mládežnických politických organizací / Activism in youth political organizations

Forétková, Pavlína January 2019 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the activism of youth political organizations in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to monitor their activities between 2013 and 2017 due to activism in general but also to political parties. A protest event analysis based on document analysis was created to monitor activities. The second type of research data was interviews with representatives of youth organizations. This type develops results from protest event analysis. Research has shown differences in attitude to activism between left-wing and right-wing organizations. The left-wing focused on protest more than right-wing organization and also often cooperated with non-profit organizations. While right-wing organizations are quite active, they prefer institutional channel and orderly decency before protest arena. Youth organizations have little to do with events before elections. Though they also support political parties or protest against them, they have realized most of the events because of their own agendas. Most organizations appreciate mutual cooperation in protests, with one exception when cooperation is rejected from both sides.
