Bakgrund: Tidigare forskning visar att patienter och anhöriga beskriver att de upplever att de inte blir involverade i sin vård. Detta orsakas av sjuksköterskors höga arbetsbelastning då patienter inte vill besvära de med sina frågor gällande sin vård. Patienter beskriver att de upplever att de inte får information gällande sitt sjukdomstillstånd. Anhöriga beskriver att de upplever svårigheter när de ska fatta beslut gällande sina närstående på grund av osäkerhet om vad som är rätt och fel. Syfte: Att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att hantera etiska utmaningar vid vård av patienter i samband med sjukhusvård. Metod: Litteraturstudie med beskrivande syntes. Resultat: I resultatet framkom två teman med fyra subteman. Första temat var Yttre faktorer med subtema Tidens inverkan samt Samarbete i vårdteamet. Sjuksköterskor erfor otillräcklighet på grund av tidsbrist och svårigheter att samarbeta med andra medarbetare på grund av olika åsikter som uppstod. Andra temat; Inre  faktorer med subteman relationens inverkan på vårdandet samt Känslomässig inverkan. Där framkom det att sjuksköterskor erfor att etiska utmaningar påverkade deras arbetsvanor negativt. Detta ledde till att de ibland behövde sjukskriva sig för att återhämta sig. Slutsats: Sjuksköterskor erfor etiska utmaningar på grund av yttre och inre faktorer som medförde komplexitet i vårdandet. / Background: Previous research shows that patients and relatives describe that they feel they are not involved in their care. This is due to nurses' high workloads as patients don´t want to bother them with their questions regarding their care. Patients describe they feel they don´t receive information regarding their medical condition. Relatives describe they experience difficulties when they have to make decisions regarding their relatives due to uncertainty about what is right and wrong. Aim: To describe nurses' experiences of dealing with ethical challenges in caring for patients in hospital care. Method: Literature study with descriptive synthesis. Results: Results showed two themes with four subthemes. First theme was External factors with sub-theme The impact of time and Collaboration in the care team. It emerged that nurses experienced inadequacy due to lack of time and difficulties in cooperating with other staff due to different opinions. Second theme was Internal factors with subthemes the relationships impact of care as well as emotional impact. It emerged that nurses experienced ethical challenges had a negative effect on their work habits. This led them to sometimes having to take sick leave to recover. Conclusion: Nurses experience ethical challenges due to external and internal factors that led to complexity in care.
