Pojetí vztahu učitele a žáka v České republice od začátku 20. století po současnost / The relationship between teacher and pupil in 20th Century

ŠKODOVÁ, Eliška January 2011 (has links)
This thesis investigates a relationship between a teacher and a pupil and the understanding of the pupil as an object or a subject of education. The first part describes the objectivist approach to the pupil and the accenting role of the pedagogue in the educational process, which prevailed in the 19 th century. The second part concerns the reformist pedagogical movement of the 1920's and 1930's, which period brought radical changes to the approach to the pupil and an immoderate promotion of the new approach to the pedagogical relationship. The third chapter tries to reflect nationalistic and socialistic pedagogy and offers a description of a comprehensive non-differentiated school. The last chapter deals with the recent conception of the teacher-pupil relationship and their mutual interaction.

Výuka českého jazyka ve scioškolách - případová studie / Czech Language Teaching at Scioschools - a Case Study

Mejstříková, Kateřina Bernadeta January 2021 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the teaching of the Czech language at scioschools. The theoretical basis of Czech language didactics and the problematicsof alternative education are discussed in the first part, while the second part characterizes the individual scioschools in terms of their general concept and teaching of Czech language. The thesis is fomulated as a case study and is methodologically based on observation, interviews and document analysis. Its aim is to provide a partial insight into the practice of Czech language teaching at scioschools and to answer how and with what goal is Czech language taught. It analyses whether some innovative methods and forms of work reflecting the current topics of Czech language didactics are applied and whether is there are any unifying concepts of Czech language teaching. While this work provides insight into these issues it concludes that scioschools aim to lead the students to so-called study autonomy. Scioschools do not work with a unified concept of teaching. It find that the current Czech language teaching practice - forms of teaching, application of innovative methods or aims are heavily influenced by the personality, knowledge and experiences of the teacher - tutor. KEYWORDS scioschools, alternative school, tutor, didactics of the Czech language, aims of...

Provencher, Catherine 03 1900 (has links)
Difficulties in planning, organizing information, and managing human and material resources are frequently observed in students with low academic achievement (Anderson, Munk, Young, Conley, & Caldarella, 2008). Teaching and practicing cognitive and self-regulation strategies would enable students to develop skills that would allow them to do better in school (Anderson et al., 2008; Malmberg, Järvenoja, & Järvelä, 2013a). In Quebec alternative schools, project-based pedagogy is experienced by all students (RÉPAQ, 2019). The project is a privileged opportunity for the teacher to implement personalized means for students to develop strategies to overcome their difficulties. Knowing that some students may have difficulty deploying strategies that allow them to self-regulate their learning, (Butler & Cartier, 2018; Cartier & Butler, 2016) the question that guides this research is: How does a student with difficulties surrounding the organization and management of resources self-regulate his or her learning in a project as implemented in an alternative public school in Quebec? For our qualitative case study, we followed a nine-year-old student as she worked on a writing project in an alternative school in Quebec. We conducted three interviews with this student and also met with her teacher and the specialized teacher who are implementing writing interventions and instruction that enable their student to progress on her project. In order to complete our analysis, we also consulted the student's work documents and analyzed the self-evaluation of his project. The results of this study allow us to describe how the student achieves her goals for her writing project by receiving support and using the resources set up for her. We explain how the student who has difficulty self-regulating tasks and resources works to overcome the challenges she encounters during her writing project in order to meet the expectations of her teacher who wants to improve her writing skills.

The Home-school Life of Trustful Coupling Relationship among Parents, Teachers, and Students: a Case Study on an Alternative Elementary School in Taiwan

Jan, Chia Hui Unknown Date (has links)
種籽親子實驗國民小學的學校運作模式可為偏地小校轉型再生的參考 / This dissertation applies qualitative research method and the “open systems theory” to amplify on an alternative school picture of Seedling Experimental Elementary School, and inquiries the elements on the sustainable development of the alternative school. The results of this dissertation upon the case study on Seedling Experimental Elementary School are as follows. 1. By describing and analyzing the manners and systems of student learning and school operating, this dissertation points out that the school picture of Seedling Experimental Elementary School is home-school life of trustful coupling relationship among parents, teachers, and students. 2. The organizational characteristics of Seedling Experimental Elementary School are as below. (1) It seems as if Seedling Experimental Elementary School is a bureaucratic organization, but just at a modest rate, is not typical bureaucracy. (2) The intrinsic qualities of discussing culture are supporting individual differences and cooperation. (3) The individual systems of parents, teachers, and students are congruent. (4) Invoking individual power and transferring the need for organization can reconcile conflicts in the political system of organization. (5) Seedling Experimental Elementary School has the good relationship with the authorities, but has the aloof relationship with the local community. 3. The innate character of Seedling Experimental Elementary School is “self-organization” that can reconcile the inner systems of the school organization and embrace the challenges or stress come from outer systems. Seedling Experimental Elementary School as a self-organization can be developing steady. 4. This dissertation makes two suggestions to Seedling Experimental Elementary School. First of all, parents, teachers, and students can collectively build the “Seedling knowledge”. Secondly, Seedling Experimental Elementary School can accomplish educational mission for the public by establishing the method and program of teacher education based on “Seedling knowledge”. 5. This dissertation makes some suggestions for national education. (1) The authorities could assist schools to be “self-organization-orientated” school organizations. (2) The authorities could assist schools to cultivate teachers to be “self-creation-orientated” teachers. (3) A school principal could lead parents, teachers, and students to work up the school belief and vision, which may develop trustful coupling relationship that could be the base of school. (4) Three suggestions for experimental education: first, school evaluation for schools which are proceeding with experimental education should be flexible and expediential; secondly, the authorities can boost the communication and promote the cooperation between alternative schools and common schools; finally, the school operating model of Seedling Experimental Elementary School could be the reference and resource for the transformation of small schools in rural.

Unequal Opportunities for Citizenship Learning? Diverse Student Experiences Completing Ontario’s Community Involvement Requirement

Horner Schwarz, Kaylan 01 January 2011 (has links)
This thesis examined diverse students' experiences completing Ontario's community involvement requirement. An analysis of quantitative surveys and qualitative focus groups among 50 current and recently graduated secondary school students from widely contrasting socio-economic settings showed ways in which diverse participants perceived their community involvement activities, the support for community involvement in their schools, and their associated opportunities to develop capacity to make changes toward a more socially just world. Results indicated that low-income participants reported dissimilar experiences from high-income participants, in relation to the support for community involvement provided by school staffs, participants' direct or distant relationships with service recipients, and their sense of individual and collective agency to effect change. Thus, this study challenges the assumption that all students in Ontario have equal access to the citizenship education learning opportunities embedded in meaningful community involvement activities.
