Disserta??o (Mestrado Profissional) ? In this population there are special groups, or rather traditional living in isolated regions maintaining its partially preserved cultural practices, are called quilombos. In Diamantina (MG) exists near the district of S?o Jo?o da Chapada one quilombo community called Quartel do Indai?, this population that formed since the late 30 century XVIII. Although there are information about this community and others in the region - Cov?o and Algodoeiro, this information scattered in isolated projects or condensed in order to compose the black or the general population of the municipality. The social and environmental indicators in this population are also fragmented or clusters in order to set the scene of the demographics of the entire city of Diamantina. The objective of this research is to investigate the social and environmental indicators, health problems and the referencing to health services of trhee quilombo communities in the southern Espinha?o. Specific: 1) identify the demographic structure and its spatial distribution; 2) characterize the main health problems and 3) check the referencing to health services and the inclusion of these in welfare programs and government policies. Data analysis consists of four phases with different multicriteria methodology. In the first lecture phase were chosen the three major requirements (environmental health and social) to be used in multi-criteria and their respective weights tool. In the second phase were set the criteria for each application and made a study individually, through literature and comparative data for each indicator values review, and by consulting with experts in the field, to define weights and the form of assessment each indicator. In the third phase, the multicriteria tool was created in addition to the preparation of an application (electronic table) this tool, so that any user in the future can use it easily. This electronic table allowed us to create a ranking of the situation of each community, which will help those responsible for development projects, or decision-making by public officials on actions to be taken in those communities. Finally, in the fourth stage after reading the multi-criteria analysis of information, a sensitive test was developed with Emater and Procaj agents, in order to clarify some indicators approaching the most of the current reality of these communities. The developed assessment methodology enables the visibility of communities such as quilombos and other traditional communities, since adapt some indicators in order to optimize public policies and prioritize aspects that are more precarious and priority.

Disserta??o (Mestrado Profissional) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Tecnologia, Sa?de e Sociedade, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2016. / The Environmental Protection Area (APA) of Higth Mucuri River presents considerable forest remnants of the Atlantic Forest, and has suffered intense anthropic pressure, mainly by deforestation and fires. This forest conflict can be equated and serve the interests of society through the implementation of efficient public policies. In this work, the objective was to systematize environmental information and correlate them with forest public policies and biodiversity protection. In the study, the use and coverage of soil, declivity, drainage density, size of forest fragments, distance of water bodies and hydrogeological criteria were analyzed using a weighted linear combination methodology. The criteria were correlated with the forest public policies and biodiversity protection proposed by state law, associated with ecological restoration, conservation and protection of biodiversity, and sustainable production. The use of hydrogeological criteria in the present study is an innovation in multicriteria analyzes to define priority areas for conservation and environmental recovery. The multicriteria analysis performed in the present study, using the weighted linear combination method, allowed the integration of different criteria, which together can help in the decision making of institutions related to the planning of that territory. Many of these criteria, if analyzed in isolation, can lead to actions and policies that do not correspond to the complexity of the region and therefore may not be as effective as necessary. It was verified that the region has high environmental sensitivity regarding water resources, since it presents areas with high slopes and high density of drainage, distributed throughout the territory. In addition, it presents areas with water and surface sedimentary packages that need forest cover to maintain stability. Taken together, these factors indicate low water infiltration capacity and favoring surface runoff, damaging the water balance of the watershed. In this way, we conclude that the region has high dependence on native vegetation and, therefore, demands actions that increase the forest cover and sustainable production. Through the implementation of public policies appropriate to the reality of this territory, with full social participation, it will be possible to provide a real reconciliation between the conservation of species, habitats and ecosystem services and economic and social development in one of the most fragile regions of the State of Minas Gerais. Ecological conservation and restoration strategies, as well as production and sustainable use, should seek integrative approaches, through the articulation of existing initiatives, as well as the development of new solutions, adapted to the local and regional reality, especially with a view to protecting the Natural resources and sustainable production in The Environmental Protection Area of Higth Mucuri River.

Social and environmental issues have driven modern society to seek a new management model in which companies look for strategies that join aspects related to Managerial Sustaintability. The Law 13303/16 makes practices of corporate sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility mandatory by Brazilian state-owned companies, including Brazilian Public Ports. The present research aims to evaluate the business performance of Brazilian Docks Companies in relation to the aspects that permeate the area of business sustainability. We selected performance indicators that allow us to evaluate the performance of the Brazilian Docks Companies in relation to these aspects, to which weightings were assigned by the managers of the Companies investigated, in order to add less subjectivity in the data analysis. The results suggest that companies with better economic and financial indicators do not necessarily have the best social and environmental indexes, which makes it possible to infer that, in general, companies need to implement a monitoring system focused on sustainability management based on the environmental, social and financial triad. The findings also point out that Para Dock Company has the most sustainable management, presenting a good placement for the three sustainability strands. Next, we have Ceara Dock Company, which have obtained a good environmental performance, occupying the first position for this aspect in the analyzed period. On the other hand, Rio Grande do Norte Dock Company has occupied the last position in the final ranking influenced by the poor performance in social and financial management.

The emission and accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere and the consequent global warming has convinced public opinion that the use of low environmental impact technologies should play a prominent role in energy production. Distributed generation using renewable sources presents itself as a worldwide trend to meet part of the demand for electricity. In this way, this work proposes a multicriteria evaluation of the main sources of energy used in the Brazilian electrical system, from the economic, technical and socio-environmental point of view. In this sense, it is also an evaluation of the impacts of the insertion of the distributed generation into the Brazilian electricity distribution network. / Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? Potential environmental fragility studies guide the understanding of susceptibility to degradation in watersheds, and may assist in the prioritization of areas in environmental planning, land management, restoration, forest and soil conservation and preservation. The objective of this scientific investigation was to analyze the potential environmental fragility of the Jequitinhonha river basin in the state of Minas Gerais. The methodology used was based on the establishment of degrees of fragility, from low to extremely high, based on a multi-criteria assessment of a set of environmental information plans: terrain slope, soil classes, geological domains, drainage hierarchy and rainfall. The hierarchical method was applied for decision making and determination of the importance of the criteria through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), as well as obtaining the index and consistency ratio of the AHP matrix. For the analysis procedures in spreadsheets, the software Excel was used, and for the analyzes in platform GIS, the software ArcGis 10.3.1. The class of potential environmental fragility with greater representativeness is the denominated average fragility, and occurs in an extension of 19.244,1 km ?, equivalent to 30% of the total area of the watershed, that is of 66.319 km ?. An area of 12,430.57 km? (19.4%) of the basin presents low fragility, 18,540.93 km? (28.9%) under slightly low, and the upper and extremely high class represent 10,519.63 km? (16.4 %) and 3,416.15 km? (5.3%), respectively. The Consistency Ratio (RC) calculated for the hierarchy matrix of the criteria for map algebra was 0.0781, within the limits of coherence and reliability acceptable by the AHP methodology. The condition of greater or lesser potential environmental fragility is mainly due to the degree of protection of native vegetation cover, in the context of the forms of occupation of the territory and environmental impacts under which the river basin is subject, conditions that degradation of soils. In addition to the results obtained in this study, further research is required to complement and test the combination of new criteria, which also encompasses different foci of applicability and decision making in the forest, environmental and agrarian sciences.

Disserta??o (Mestrado) ?
