Uppgradering av Mingo Matte

Kockum, Henrik, Persson, John January 2018 (has links)
In modern technology over 40% of the mobile devices have 64-bit support. In late 2017 Google announced that in 2019 the Android market will require a 64-bit support on all of the applications published on their platform. Apple has had this requirement since 2015. The objective of this is to raise performance and security of apps and therefore the device itself. This project is to research about how to upgrade an application from 32-bit support to 64-bits support and perform the upgrade of a math application “Mingo Matte”. A theoretical study was made to decide which platform would suit this project the best. Then by upgrading the already existing code to a new syntax a new fully 64-bit supported application was made. This project is brought by the company Mingo Education and all its earnings goes toward “Läkare I världen” which is a company that provides healthcare to who doesn’t have access to it.

Replay Debugger For Multi Threaded Android Applications

January 2011 (has links)
abstract: Debugging is a hard task. Debugging multi-threaded applications with their inherit non-determinism is all the more difficult. Non-determinism of any kind adds to the difficulty of cyclic debugging. In Android applications which are written in Java, threads and concurrency constructs introduce non-determinism to the program execution. Even with the same input, consecutive runs may not be the same and reproducing the same bug is a challenging task. This makes it difficult to understand and analyze the execution behavior or to understand the source of a failing execution. This thesis introduces a replay mechanism for Android applications written in Java and is based on the Lamport Clock. This tool provides the user with a controlled debugging environment, where the program execution follows the identical partially ordered happened-before dependency among threads, as during the recorded execution. In this, certain significant events like thread creation, synchronization etc. are recorded during run-time. They can later be replayed off-line, as many times as needed to pinpoint and fix an error in the application. It is software based approach and has been implemented by modifying the Dalvik Virtual Machine in the Android platform. The method of replay described in this thesis is independent of the underlying operating system scheduler. / Dissertation/Thesis / M.S. Computer Science 2011

Service Oriented Architecture for Mobile Cloud Computing

January 2012 (has links)
abstract: The Open Services Gateway initiative (OSGi) framework is a standard of module system and service platform that implements a complete and dynamic component model. Currently most of OSGi implementations are implemented by Java, which has similarities of Android language. With the emergence of Android operating system, due to the similarities between Java and Android, the integration of module system and service platform from OSGi to Android system attracts more and more attention. How to make OSGi run in Android is a hot topic, further, how to find a mechanism to enable communication between OSGi and Android system is a more advanced area than simply making OSGi running in Android. This paper, which aimed to fulfill SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and CBA (Component Based Architecture), proposed a solution on integrating Felix OSGi platform with Android system in order to build up Distributed OSGi framework between mobile phones upon XMPP protocol. And in this paper, it not only successfully makes OSGi run on Android, but also invents a mechanism that makes a seamless collaboration between these two platforms. / Dissertation/Thesis / M.S. No. of bitstreams: 1 2017_dis_aaRodrigues.pdf: 2954947 bytes, checksum: 97fed5ea614556576bcacad7284ed116 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016 / The precision irrigation consists in the water application atlocal, momentand quantity required by the crop, and forthat turnspossible it will be necesserymethods that provide the decision parameter making the act of irrigating less empirical and more technical. The use of capacitive soil moisture sensors allows the monitoring of soil moisture levels and, consequently, an automation irrigation. Therefore, an automatic irrigation system, demads communication betweenthe controller and the starting and sensing points. When there are large distances between them, appears a necessity to use Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) to reduce costs and connect these points through radio frequency communication. According with the exposed, the present work was goal developed na WSN providing a communication between the modules that control the components of the irrigation system. The work was desenvolved in the Laboratory of Electronics and Agricultural Mechanics (LEMA) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). Initially modules were developed to: collect and transmit capacitive sensor data (sensor module); control of valve control latch and set irrigation sectors (valve tristle module); control the motor-pumpassociatedwithfrequencyinverter (pump house module); accomplishthe interface between field modules andmanagement software (control module). After than, the development of control software based on the Android operating system for mobile devices, having as a development platform the online paltform MIT APP Inventor. It was observed in the results thatthe developed hardware it meets the communication needs between the control module and the set modules and the sensing modules. The sensor module precise performed thedata acquisition coming fromthe capacitive sensors of soilmoisture,as well the valve tristle module it was able to open and closeof the valve control latch in a satisfactory manner. Themobile applie,"IrrigBlue",developed for Android devices was able to processthe dataspackets received from the WSN, processing and return to the user the status ofirrigation system, besides generating data packets withset comandingsof the irrigation systemthrough the "IrrigBlue" hardware.

Perfection: United Goal or Divisive Myth? A look into the concept of posthumanism and its theoretical outcomes in science fiction

McCarthy, Rebecca Leah 01 December 2013 (has links)
As science races to keep up with science fiction, many scientists are beginning to believe that the next step in human evolution will be a combination of human and machine and look a lot like something out of Star Trek. The constant pursuit of perfection is a part of the human condition, but if we begin to stretch beyond the natural human form can we still consider ourselves human? Transhumanism and posthumanism are only theories for now, but they are theories that threaten to permanently displace the human race, possibly pushing it into extinction. This thesis will look at the theories of transhumanism and posthumanism through the lens of science fiction and ask the question of whether or not technology holds the key to humanities next evolutionary step or its demise.

Android balloon game for children

Pulipaka, Mohana Saketh January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Computing and Information Sciences / Daniel Andresen / Android balloon game application is an android application which helps in improving the children’s vocabulary power. This application provides a graphical user interface with words as questions and balloons as the options. The end user will have to select a balloon in order to select an answer. There are three modules in this application which are game mode, new game and high scores. In the basic module questions like Alpha_bet are included. Also as an enhancement, the game is made interesting by giving the user three lives to clear the levels of the game. Three small balloons are included in the application which resemble the three lives and once an incorrect answer is selected, the green balloon will be replaced by a red balloon depicting an incorrect answer. Also the scores will be computed for every correct option that is selected by the user. The score is incremented by ten points for every correct answer. And for the high score section, the game would maintain the list of top players. High score section will consist of the user’s name, score, time and date for the gameplay. Apart from that a next button is included which helps the user to skip a word which the user finds it difficult to answer. A hint option is also provided in the game which pronounces the word helping the user to guess the word correctly.
