Este trabalho tenciona fazer um estudo das idéias pedagógicas implantadas por Anísio Teixeira no então denominado Centro de Educação Popular, hoje Centro Educacional Carneiro Ribeiro. Procura-se ainda fazer um pequeno estudo da realidade educacional baiana na época em que Anísio Teixeira idealizou e fez erguer esse centro e de como, apesar das décadas decorridas, suas idéias continuam sendo consideradas inovadoras, atuais e resgatadas desde 2002, pelo atual corpo dirigente do referido centro. Diferentemente de outros trabalhos, não buscamos resgatar a biografia do educador baiano, mas focar o surgimento do Centro, seu apogeu, decadência e ressurgimento. Este trabalho também analisa, sucintamente, a gestão democrática, terminologia muito usada hoje, mas implantada há muito pela primeira gestora do Centro educacional Carneiro Ribeiro, Carmem Spínola Teixeira. Para lastrear nossas discussões e ajudar na defesa de nossos pontos de vista nos valemos de atuais e renomados teóricos da educação e do testemunho de diversos ex-alunos que por aquele Centro passaram / This work intends to make a study of the pedagogical ideas implanted by Anísio Teixeira then called the Center for Popular Education, today called Educational Center Carneiro Ribeiro. Search is still doing a small study of the educational reality at the time when Anísio Teixeira has idealized and built this Center and how despite decades after, his ideas are still considered innovative, current and recovered since 2002 by the current body leader of the Center. Unlike other works, we do not seek to redeem the biography of the educator, but focus on the emergence of the Center, its heyday, decline and resurgence. This paper also briefly examines, the democratic management, terminology used much today, but long established by the first manager of the Educational Center Carneiro Ribeiro, Carmen Spínola Teixeira.
