<p>This paper combines two theoretical fields, the psychoanalytical and the political, with regards to the discussion on Herman Hesse’s Demian. Rather than to merely see Demian as a psychological study of one particular, singular person, I consider Demian to be an urgent request to people in general that they should follow their inner voice and develop themselves fully as individuals. Furthermore, the novel conveys the message that the individual should live in coexistence with the collective, i.e., social norms. In order to analyze how a psychoanalytical and a political approach complement each other and in turn create another, expanded view of Demian, I have worked with C.G. Jung’s ideas of the individuation process and the archetypes. I have also included articles that deal with the political aspects in Demian and that indirectly deal with Hesses political views.</p>

In den letzten Jahren wurden zahlreiche Konzepte aus der Forschung für große Unternehmen auf den Entre­preneur­ship- und KMU-Bereich übertragen und dort angewendet, ohne ihre Eignung für Klein- und Kleinstunternehmen zu überprüfen. Eine (empirische) Überprüfung, inwieweit die zugrundeliegenden Modelle und Annahmen auch im Bereich der KMU allgemein zutreffen, ist daher sicherlich angebracht. Eines dieser Werkzeuge, das in letzter Zeit immer mehr in den Blickpunkt der Forschung rückt, ist Entrepreneurial Orientation. Mit Entrepreneurial Orientation steht ein Werkzeug zur Verfügung, dass den gesamten Lebenszyklus eines Unternehmens abbilden kann und Elemente sowohl der Entrepreneurship- als auch der Organisations- und Strategieforschung integriert. Inwieweit Kombinationen von Entrepreneurial Orientation bei Konfigurationen von Unternehmens­eigenschaften für kleine und mittlere Unternehmen einen Erkenntnisbeitrag leisten können, wird in diesem Buch theoretisch und empirisch untersucht. / Recently, a major focus in economical research is on small- and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship. As part of this development, many concepts have been transferred and adapted to the Entrepreneurship and SME sector from large corporation research, without being tested for their fit to this area. An (empirical) examination how the underlying models and assumptions transferred apply also to the field of SMEs in general seems to be necessary. One of the tools that gain more attention every year is the concept of Entrepreneurial Orientation. Entrepreneurial Orientation provides a tool that can model the entire lifecycle of an enterprise and integrates elements of entrepreneurship as well as organizational and strategy research. This book does provide a theoretical and empirical evaluation of how Entrepreneurial Orientation may be useful by designing configurations of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Die Bioökonomie schlägt ein Wirtschaftsmodell vor, das auf erneuerbaren biologischen Ressourcen basiert, die in wertschöpfende Produkte umgewandelt werden. Graslandschaften spielen eine große Rolle, insbesondere da sie mehr als ein Drittel der landwirtschaftlichen Fläche Europas bedecken. Traditionell wurde Graslandbiomasse fast ausschließlich in der Viehzucht verwendet, doch ein Großteil bleibt ungenutzt. In den letzten Jahren wurden neue Wertschöpfungsketten für Graslandbiomasse entwickelt, wie Papier, Isoliermaterial und Biochar. Die Integration von Graslandinnovationen in bestehende Industrien bleibt jedoch eine Herausforderung, und alternative grasbasierte Produkte haben nur einen geringen Einfluss auf die europäische Wirtschaft. Diese Dissertation untersucht die Beziehungen zwischen Unternehmen und ihrem Umfeld. Sie analysiert die externen Faktoren, die die Entwicklung von 18 grasbasierten Unternehmen in Europa beeinflussen. Anhand von Deutschland wird der Einfluss der Gemeinsamen Agrarpolitik (GAP) auf die landwirtschaftliche Flächennutzung im Zusammenhang mit Graslandschaften von 1990 bis 2019 untersucht. Zudem wird die Innovationsbereitschaft von acht aufkommenden grasbasierten Innovationen bewertet. Die Ergebnisse zeigen das Potenzial von grasbasierten Unternehmen für die ländliche Entwicklung, regionale sozioökonomische Stärkung und industrielle Nachhaltigkeit in Europa. Hohe Produktionskosten und geringe Bekanntheit hindern jedoch das Marktwachstum. Bewusstseinsbildung und die Optimierung regulatorischer Prozesse könnten zur Integration dieser Produkte in europäische Märkte beitragen. / The bioeconomy proposes an economic model based on renewable biological resources, converting them into value-added products. This model supports the transition from a fossil-based to a bio-based economy. Grasslands are a key resource, covering over a third of Europe's agricultural area. Traditionally used in livestock production, much of the grassland biomass remains underutilized. In recent years, new valorization pathways have emerged for grassland biomass, such as paper, insulation, and biochar. However, integrating grassland innovations into existing industries remains challenging, with alternative grass-based products having minimal impact on Europe's economy. This dissertation explores the relationship between businesses and their environments. It investigates the external factors influencing the development of eighteen grass-based businesses in Europe. Using Germany as a case study, it examines the effects of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) on land-use changes related to grasslands from 1990-2019. It also evaluates the innovation readiness of eight nascent grass-based innovations. The findings highlight the potential of grass-based businesses for rural development, regional socio-economic growth, and European industrial sustainability. However, high production costs and limited consumer and policy awareness hinder market growth. Raising awareness and optimizing regulatory processes can help integrate these products into European markets.
