As a means to achieve this objective, qualitative in-depth interviews were conducted online. The main question is to understand how the amorous expectations in the liquid modernity are configured. Added to that, there is as analysis categories the insight about relationships and the love experiences provided by the use of the Social Network Badoo. There are three initial hypotheses: 1) a time of transition is experienced, in which the liquid love in the proposed terms by Bauman (2004) was gaining ground and, as consequence, the relationships would be presenting themselves shorter, more open and with another interactive proposals for the relations. 2) The consuming practices of the liquid modernity can interpellate the relational practices molding them according to your logic. 3) It is assumed that the reasoning, inherent to the market, of the use followed by the disposal settles itself in the social behavior and this practice is accentuated by technology, through the use of the internet for the establishment of romantic relationships.the empirical analysis shows that both the vision on relationships as the amorous expectations in liquid modernity have as references the model of solid loving relationship, inherent to the traditional modernity. However it also demonstrates that the romantic experiences and practices refer to the liquid relationship model. Therefore, from these statements it is argued that there is in liquid modernity the cohabitation of the liquid and solid models of romantic relationships. In summary, this research aims to understand the contemporary love relationships across the spectrum of relationships that develop on the Internet Social Network: Badoo / A pesquisa prop?e-se a analisar o fen?meno dos relacionamentos amorosos atrav?s da observa??o da Rede Social Badoo.

Gamification - The process of designing our activities into games

Christofer, Monsen, Oscar, Lindholm January 2016 (has links)
The trend of adjusting our activities, making them more attractive and less like chores is apparent just by looking at the applications and systems we use for our everyday lives. In this study we investigate this phenomenon, in both training and dating applications, from a design perspective using the frameworks of gamification and Fogg´s behavior model. Using these tools in complement with qualitative interviews we answer questions regarding how one can design gamification to achieve behavior change. The chosen applications, namely Tinder, Badoo, RunKeeper and Nike+ were all identified as gamification applications and in regard to how they were designed, the training applications primarily showed interest in raising the motivation of users, while the dating applications rather focused on easing the simplicity of performing the behavior.

Onlinedejting via lokaliseringsapplikation : En studie om hur mobilapplikationen Badoo används ute på krogen / Onlinedating through people-nearby-application : A study about the usage of the mobile application Badoo out in clubs.

Carvajal, Sandra, Olsson von Koch, Ebba January 2013 (has links)
Online dating and “People nearby applications” (PNA) has become more popular in today’s society. With PNA you can easily find people who are nearby you that you can socialize with and maybe even meet. In this paper we study the mobile application Badoo and explore how it is used for dating in clubs in Stockholm through observations that we participated in. We also had a group interview with five Badoo users about their usage of the application. It turned out that they mostly used Badoo during daytime to socialize with other people. Our observations in this study showed that Badoo is used by some people for dating when out in nightclubs but many people are more likely to use it when they are at home for other types of dates, such as meeting for sexual activities etc, at this time of the day.

Kvalitativní studie užití oline seznamovacích serverů v České republice / Qualitative study on the use of online dating servers in the Czech republic

Kuboková, Kristina January 2016 (has links)
This thesis aims to map and describe how users of online dating servers use this medium. How do they self-present on dating sites and how do they create a profile. What is the motivation to use the online dating sites. For data collection, I chose qualitative research. As a qualitative method were used depth interviews with fourteen users of dating site Badoo. The work is divided into two parts. The first part will focus on theoretical concepts. Detail is devoted to the history of online dating, self-presentation, motivation to use online dating sites. Furthermore, the theoretical approaches discussed the relations in terms of evolutionary psychology and, ultimately, stereotypes. The second part is empirical. It deals with methodology, research questions, research strategies and especially the analysis of interviews. Based on interviews with respondents, I have developed several key categories, which are described in more detail the analytical part. This study describes the attitudes/ approach of respondents to categories such as motivation to use dating sites, self-presentation, communication and stereotypes which I have noticed in my research sample. The last part is devoted to a summary of findings and research results.
