Design of a 10 MHz Transimpedance Low-Pass Filter with Sharp Roll-Off for a Direct Conversion Wireless Receiver

Hodgson, James K. 2009 May 1900 (has links)
A fully-differential base-band transimpedance low-pass filter is designed for use in a direct conversion wireless receiver. Existing base-band transimpedance amplifiers (TIA) often utilize single-pole filters which do not provide good stop-band rejection and may even allow the filter to saturate in the presence of large interferers near the edge of the pass-band. The designed filter is placed in parallel with an existing single-pole TIA filter and diverts stop-band current signals away from the existing filter, providing added rejection and safeguarding the filter from saturating. The presented filter has a bandwidth of 10 MHz, achieves 35 dB rejection at 50 MHz (25 dB in post-layout simulations), and can process interferers as large as 10 mA. The circuit is designed in Jazz 0.18 m CMOS technology, and it is shown, using macromodels, that the design is scalable to smaller, faster technologies.

Modernización de la red de acceso de un operador móvil para el caso de Lima Metropolitana

Otárola Correa, Diego Antonio, Campos Gonzales, Frank January 2015 (has links)
For achieve this we have to defined theoric concepts based on the mobile telecommunication technology GSM, UMTS and LTE and compare with the features of equipment proposed to use proving that the coverage and performance of the access network of the operator can be improved for provide a better 2G and 4G service. For achieve this target proposed, this thesis describes the design and sizing of Project, steps for execution, technical features of equipment, on air procedure and results base on the testing service and KPI.

The Architecture Design and Hardware Implementation of Communications and High-Precision Positioning System

January 2020 (has links)
abstract: Within the near future, a vast demand for autonomous vehicular techniques can be forecast on both aviation and ground platforms, including autonomous driving, automatic landing, air traffic management. These techniques usually rely on the positioning system and the communication system independently, where it potentially causes spectrum congestion. Inspired by the spectrum sharing technique, Communications and High-Precision Positioning (CHP2) system is invented to provide a high precision position service (precision ~1cm) while performing the communication task simultaneously under the same spectrum. CHP2 system is implemented on the consumer-off-the-shelf (COTS) software-defined radio (SDR) platform with customized hardware. Taking the advantages of the SDR platform, the completed baseband processing chain, time-of-arrival estimation (ToA), time-of-flight estimation (ToF) are mathematically modeled and then implemented onto the system-on-chip (SoC) system. Due to the compact size and cost economy, the CHP2 system can be installed on different aerial or ground platforms enabling a high-mobile and reconfigurable network. In this dissertation report, the implementation procedure of the CHP2 system is discussed in detail. It mainly focuses on the system construction on the Xilinx Ultrascale+ SoC platform. The CHP2 waveform design, ToA solution, and timing exchanging algorithms are also introduced. Finally, several in-lab tests and over-the-air demonstrations are conducted. The demonstration shows the best ranging performance achieves the ~1 cm standard deviation and 10Hz refreshing rate of estimation by using a 10MHz narrow-band signal over 915MHz (US ISM) or 783MHz (EU Licensed) carrier frequency. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Electrical Engineering 2020

Mallqui Morales, Nayda Isabel January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is the design of migration of nodes B and its a applied when RNC fall for a mobile network, in order to solve the problems that arise before an incident affecting voice and data services from a mobile network. In developing the thesis, we describe the theoretical framework of UMTS technology and then we focus on the main elements of this technology. We also describe the important equipment used in project development; in this case we focus on the description of the RNC. And finally we describe the solution of design and implementation .Also, the results of this project.

Koexistence mobilních komunikačních systémů WLAN a Bluetooth / WLAN and Bluetooth Systems Coexistence

Mikulka, Jan January 2009 (has links)
The dissertation thesis deals with a WLAN and Bluetooth systems coexistence. A Bluetooth standard works in an unlicensed frequency band 2,402 – 2,480 GHz. This frequency band is also used by an IEEE 802.11b/g standard (Wi-Fi) which is the most extended representative of WLAN networks. Because Bluetooth and Wi-Fi systems operate in the same frequency band, a mutual signal degradation may appear, when devices are collocated in the same area. In the first part of the dissertation thesis there is a brief summary of 2,402 - 2,480 GHz frequency band regulations and its usage. There are described physical layers of Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11b/g standards and techniques used for a collision avoidance. The main part of the dissertation thesis deals with a development of a new Matlab Simulink model for investigations of the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi standards coexistence. Physical layer models and results of the coexistence simulations are verified by a measurement in real conditions with a help of a modern vector signal analyzer. The results are presented in a graphical form and a brief summary is attached at the end of each chapter. Corresponding tables of simulated and measured values are available in the enclosed CD.
