El Ghaziri, Angélina 20 October 2016 (has links)
The research developed in this thesis deals with several statistical aspects for analyzing datasets. Firstly, investigations of the properties of several association indices commonly used by practitioners are undergone. Secondly, different strategies related to the standardization of the datasets with application to principal component analysis (PCA) and regression, especially PLS-regression were developed. The first strategy consists of a continuum standardization of the variables. The interest of such standardization in PCA and PLS-regression is emphasized.A more general standardization is also discussed which consists in reducing gradually not only the variances of the variables but also their correlations. Thereafter, a continuum approach was developed combining Redundancy Analysis and PLS-regression. Moreover, this new standardization inspired a biased regression model in multiple linear regression. Properties related to this approach are studied and the results are compared on the basis of case studies with those of Ridge regression. In the context of the analysis of several datasets in an exploratory perspective, the method called ComDim, has certainly raised interest among practitioners. An extension of this method for the analysis of K+1 datasets was developed. Properties related to this method, called P-ComDim, are studied and compared to Multiblock PLS. Finally, for the analysis of datasets depending on several factors, a new approach based on PLS regression is proposed.

Jaunosios – senosios kartų katalikiškosios srovės politikų konfliktai tarpukario Lietuvoje / Catholic society elder and younger generations politicians conflict in a period between two World wars in Lithuania

Račkauskas, Tadas 16 August 2007 (has links)
Darbe analizuojamas tarpukario Lietuvos, t.y., I respublikos katalikiškosios visuomenės senosios - jaunosios kartų visuomenininkų bei politikų konfliktas, kuris atspindėjo to meto lietuvių visuomenės politinio brendimo evoliuciją. IV-ojo dešimtmečio pradžioje, baigę Vakarų Europos universitetus į Lietuvą grįžo nauja katalikų intelektualų banga. Pastarieji remdamiesi modernia Vakarų tradicija svarstė Lietuvos santvarkos tobulinimo projektus. A. Smetonos autoritarizmo metais nesant galimybių aktyviai veikti politinėje opozicijoje, pastarieji pradėjo Lietuvos modernizacijos planus skelbdami kultūros ir viešojo gyvenimo lituanizaciją. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / This work analyse a period between two world wars in Lithuania when on a first republic political system conflict two sides – catholic society elder and younger generations leading by public-spirited persons and politicians. This conflict was the main reflection of Lithuanian society political ripening evolution. A new catholic character wave has reached Lithuania on a 4th decade. Most of them have just finished West Europe universities. Last-mentioned wave consider a new state system improvement projects in their country going entirely to West countries tradition. Primarily they started Lithuanian modernization plans by propagating culture and public life Lithuanization considering to possibilities for active work in A.Smetona Authoritarianism opposition. The younger generation mature already on 1918. They did not feel any regards to liberal democracy tradition in Lithuania after First World War. That was one of the main conflict reasons with elder generation public-spirited persons and politicians. Elder and younger generations conflict highly expressed on a political relation stress of action field by democracy – party interest, conservatism – radicalism and position – opposition antithesis relation. Younger generation critically valued conservatism of elder generation according to West Europe modernization processes. Also they criticised archaic democracy conception perceive and political opposition slight how one of the main constructive state management factor. Younger... [to full text]

Fulchiron, Héléna 12 March 2016 (has links)
Think about childhood theories of death supposes to consider death, in the same way as sexuality, as a psychic organizer. However, if death directs the desire, it is not easy to notice its effects on the subject. The subject bears itself of a certain denial in front of finiteness of being so that he does not succumb in to the impossible of death. This impossible shows itself by a frost of desire because of deaths fear or, by contrast, in front of the horror which would show itself from a life which would spatter infinitely. The subject’s denial passes by a plaiting between its childhoods theories of death. We propose three of them, “the return in the mother's breast theory”, “survival theory” and “murder and the lex talionis theory”. It is here that reappear the childhood theories of death according to the events crossed by the grown-up subject. Taking in consideration one’s mortal condition is necessary to desire, as much as it is to cover it. So, beyond this triple relationship with death that childhood theories offers, it could be a position in which the subject would pass, between - two deaths,  in order to not give in to the desire.

Hledání objektů v obraze / object matching

Mišta, Petr January 2009 (has links)
Detection of objects based on color is not commonly used method of computer vision. There are many methods thats deals with the detection of significant points, but the color information has been omitted. The goal of this thesis is to design method of the detection significant color image areas and these areas match up with areas detected in another image. I analyzed features of detectors required to identify the reciprocal correspondence of images, defined the color significance concept, described basic color models and their properties, and a design of statistically compiled data - based method was described. Algorithms for the detection of color use color models RGB and HSV. Correspondence of areas detected in different images is performedy Kohonen neural network. The first input vector can teach Kohonen neural network and the second vector is classified by this network. To remove erroneous classifications RANSAC method is used. As a result, the method can be used for basic and rapid determination of correspondence between images, or to speed up commonly used methods for detection of significant points. At the end of the thesis are presented programs, showing functionality and options of design methods. The designed algorithms have been developed in MATLAB.

Surface-based Synthesis of 3D Maps for Outdoor Unstructured Environments

Melkumyan, Narek January 2009 (has links)
Doctor of Philosophy(PhD) / This thesis is concerned with the theoretical and practical development of a surface-based mapping algorithm for reliable and robust localization and mapping in prior unknown and unstructured environments. A surface-based map consists of a set of compressed surfaces, processed and represented without geometrical modelling. Each surface in the surface-based map represents an object in the environment. The ability to represent the exact shapes of objects via individual surfaces during the mapping process makes the surface-based mapping algorithm valuable in a number of navigation applications, such as mapping of prior unknown indoor and outdoor unstructured environments, target tracking, path planning and collision avoidance. The ability to unify representations of the same object taken from different viewpoints into a single surface makes the algorithm capable of working in multi-robot mapping applications. A surface-based map of the environment is build incrementally by acquiring the 3D range image of the scene, extracting the objects' surfaces from the 3D range image, aligning the set of extracted surfaces relative to the map and unifying the aligned set of surfaces with surfaces in the map. In the surface unification process the surfaces representing the same object are unified to make a single surface. The thesis introduces the following new methods which are used in the surface-based mapping algorithm: the extraction of surfaces from 3D range images based on a scanned surface continuity check; homogenization of the representation of the non-homogenously sampled surfaces; the alignment of the surface set relative to a large set of surfaces based on surface-based alignment algorithm; evaluating the correspondence between two surfaces based on the overlap area between surfaces; unification of the two surfaces belonging to the same object; and surface unification for a large set of surfaces. The theoretical contributions of this thesis are demonstrated with a series of practical implementations in different outdoor environments.

Circadian blood pressure within young adults in Viet Nam : An exploratory study comparing a normal blood pressure group and a prehypertension group

Zahirovic, Rezak, Ekman, Scott January 2015 (has links)
Hypertension is a global disease that many effected people in developing countries is not aware of. Hypertension is linked with cardiovascular disease. Prehypertension is not a disease but if not correctly treated, it could develop into hypertension. The aim of the study was to investigate if there are any differences in circadian blood pressure between two study groups, one group with normal blood pressure and one group with prehypertension. This study was a explorative study and its design is based on measurements of blood pressure values and a questionnaire was used to help get the data collection. 51 students volunteered to have their blood pressure taken from them and out of these 51, 24 where selected into two groups of 12 each for the Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. hese 24 students would be a part of our study and an ambulatory (Schiller-102 plus) blood pressure monitor was used to collect the data. The prevalence of prehypertension findings in the clinical testing phase was 37% of the population. There was a variation between the groups during the day (systolic) but there was not a significant difference during the night.
