Bokcirklar i grundskolan: : om bokcirklar ledda av skolbibliotekarier och lärare

Wallerek Myrgren, Momo January 2011 (has links)
I take interest in whether and how students in primary schools nowadays in Sweden participate in book clubs. My focus is on why teachers and school librarians choose to run book clubs and try to understand the structures that make book clubs possible. The method form my work is the qualitative research interview. I interviewed a group of eight people, five school librarians and three teachers from a medium-sized city in southern Sweden. My theoretical framework is a model contructed by researcher Patricia Montiel-Overall called Teacher- and Librarian Collaboration. The model sort theacher and school librarian collaboration into four types. The types illustrates degrees of collaboration in which the relationship between the different professions is at the center. The purpose of my thesis is to compare how teachers and school librarians run book clubs, what purpose they think the book clubs have, their different literature educational roles and how their collaboration influence the book clubs. My investigation revealed that there are many ways in which to run book clubs in classroom and school library. The purpose of book clubs for my respondents was generally to deepen the reading experience for their students. However, it appeared that teachers controlled book clubs by choosing which book the students should read and put together the groups while school librarians gave the students more room for the student to choose. My conclusion is that this is influenced by the teachers' and shool librarians' respective pedagogical roles. All respondents had a good relationship and informal collaborative relationships (Type B), only one reached a higher category (Type C). I found that the extent of the collaboration can be linked to the volume of the book club. The better the cooperation, the more students got a chance to join a book club. This is a two years master's thesis in Library and Information Science.

Yrkesverksamma konstnärers informationssökningsbeteende och informationsbehov : En användarstudie / Professional artists' information seeking behavior and information needs : A user study

Sjöberg, Emma, Sjödin, Isabelle January 2018 (has links)
This bachelor thesis examines how professional artists seek information and what information needs they have within their creative work. Previous research have mostly been focused on art students and there is a small amount of research that have focused on professional artists. The purpose of this study is therefore to examine how the artists seek information and what information needs they have. This is done by using qualitative interviews with five professional artists. The results are analyzed with two of Tom Wilson’s models of information seeking and information seeking behavior. The study also reviews a themed based theory on artists main information needs by Susie Cobbledick. This study found that Cobbledick's five themes regarding the information needs, fits well with the artists information needs overall, but some themes are perceived more prominent than others. The artists information seeking behavior and information needs vary depending on the situation in which we have found that the artists primarily seek information by turning to their colleagues, early teachers and by searching information on the internet. When we analyzed how artists seek inspiration, we found that the artists find their information through information encountering rather than information seeking.

Mångspråksbibliotekariers kompetenser / The Competences of Multi-language Librarians

Bergholtz, Helene January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to gain greater knowledgeabout some multi-language librarians’ perception of theircompetences in the library activities that are conductedtowards people with other mother tongues than Swedish, inwhat way these competences are gained and whichcompetences they miss. The method that is used to answerthe research questions in the study is semi-structuredinterviews with four public librarians who mainly work withmulti-language activities. Lundmark’s competence model isused together with theory of the competence term to analyzethe collected data. The results that can be drawn is that themulti-language librarians in this study consider manydifferent competences to be needed in the profession, but thatthe formal education, language skills, ability to conductsurrounding analysis, personal and social competences arementioned as very important. The librarians described theirwork tasks and responsibilities as varying, which results in ademand of certain competences. The professionalcompetence is mainly obtained via university studies and canbe updated through both formal and non-formal education.Strategic competence can be further developed throughtraditional courses and regional or local competencedevelopment efforts but also through individual initiatives asnews coverage. Everyone possesses personal and socialcompetences in some form, and these competences are oftendeveloped through experiences in a person’s personal andprofessional life. The different competences are not separatedfrom each other but overlapping and completing each other.

”Till ett folks uppfostran” : Biblioteket som förmedlare av legitim kultur

Lundström, Sara January 1996 (has links)
