Färghandlarens nya färg : En studie kring implementeringsprocessen av rebranding för en franchisetagare / The color merchant's new color : A study on the implementation process of rebranding for a franchisee

Gasslander, Fredrik, Olsen, David, Tjernström, Viktor January 2015 (has links)
Abstract Brand management has in recent years become increasingly important where companies insights to the market and consumers reflects on their marketing activities. Sometimes companies during to an acquisition need to change their entire brand; this phenomenon is known as rebranding. Through this rebranding process there are several critical steps in the implementation of a new brand. This complex of problem is to be researched and the object of study is the company Happy Homes and its brand implementation to the franchisee Växjö Färg & Tapet.   The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the implementation process of rebranding, and how it measures from a management perspective. This will conduce to see what acts and efforts need to be handled in the contributing to a brand change due to rebranding. This study will also contribute to a deeper understanding of both opportunities and openings as to pitfalls which could occur in the process of rebranding.   This thesis has a qualitative research methodology with a deductive research strategy. This approach allows us to work from theory to collect empirical evidence and to analyze and conclude the specific situation. Our interviews with the respondents were based on semi-structured interviews in which the topics and question of the interview guide was operationalized from a theoretical ground.

Design of Multifunctional and Sustainable Backpacks : Combining Skiing, Snowboarding, and Urban Usage

Jonsson, Marcus January 2018 (has links)
Today, backpacks and duffel bags are often designed with a focus on a specific area of use, which makes it difficult to use them on other occasions. A clear example where the differences are noticeable is between functional mountaineer bags and urban bags. It is not uncommon for people staying in these environments to have far beyond two bags in their possession. Overconsumption is harmful to the environment, especially when it is from an industry that is pursued with poor working conditions and dangerous emissions in nature. Therefore, multifunctionality and sustainable design have been of high priority when the products in this project were developed. In this thesis, two models of bags have been developed through a human-centered design process. A large number of user interviews and expert interviews, as well as a focus group, laid the foundation for the requirements and needs of the bags. Spektrum’s company values, as well as the identity of their current products, were interpreted to create brand recognition in the new products. Idea generation was performed through various creative sessions, prototyping, and through a workshop. Evaluation and concept selection was performed by representatives from the target group in the form of personas, as well as by Spektrum. Finally, detailed technical drawings of the concepts were created in Adobe Illustrator. The first model is a backpack designed to work just as well on the mountain as in the city. The other model is a duffel bag that can be carried both on the back and in the hand. It is also designed to perform well in both mountain and urban environments. Both bags are made of polyester from recycled PET bottles and the material is controlled and approved by the highly rated environmental certification bluesign®. The metal parts of the bags are made of recycled aluminum. Both models are adjustable to fit all users within the 5th to 95th percentile. The thesis resulted in the ordering of two alpha prototypes of each model, factory-made by my technical drawings. According to Spektrum, the designs have created great interest among retailers and company shareholders. Both models will, therefore, be put into production and released to the market within two years.

The Role of A Flexible Brand Identity in A Dynamic Market : A Multiple-Case Study on Swedish Coffee Brands

Enoksson, Louise, Larsson, Elin January 2020 (has links)
Conducting successful business requires a clear and steady brand identity, which is a part of brand management (Aaker, 1996; Kapferer, 1992, de Chernatony, 1999). Sticking to the core values and the traditions of the brand is beneficial. However, it seems advantageous to possess a flexible brand identity for the brand to be able to adapt to market trends and development. This could be of even more importance if the brand is existing in a dynamic market (Eisenhardt & Martin, 2000). This study aims to understand and further describe the role of flexible brand identity in a dynamic market, from a corporate point of view. The study was made according to an inductive approach of qualitative research, which enabled data collection from two case companies. The Swedish coffee market was chosen as the case market. Hence, five in-depth interviews were conducted with people working for two established coffee brands in Sweden.    The empirical findings showed the importance of working on the brand identity to stay relevant in the Swedish coffee market. Factors and stakeholders such as consumers, retail, shops, origin of the coffee, changes in consumer interests, and market trends were mentioned. Communication, and brand transformation, also appeared to be important factors within the study. The empirical findings have been analysed in comparison to the previous research on brand identity and dynamic markets, as well as further developed and discussed.  Altogether, the study aimed to discuss concepts and the empirical findings, and by the inclusion of the research questions: 1) How do companies work on transforming their brand identity? 2) How can a flexible brand identity be favourable when existing in a dynamic market? In conclusion, the Swedish coffee market appears to be moderately dynamic, and the benefits of a flexible brand identity is the ability to adapt and adjust for market trends, as long as the core values are taken into account during the changes.
