Jämförelse av prestanda mellan SMB och NFS i WAN och LANSjöström, Simon January 2013 (has links)
Att snabbt och effektivt kunna dela filer mellan system både genom WAN och LAN är något som många företag idag är beroende av. Till detta så kan fildelningsprotokoll användas, två vanliga fildelningsprotokoll är SMB/CIFS och NFS. I detta arbete så utvärderas de nyaste versionerna av protokollen i en experimentmiljö. Prestandajämförelser sker mellan två olika operativsystem och versioner av protokollen. Syftet är att besvara frågan om vilket protokoll som är mest effektivt i WAN-miljöer där olika operativsystem används. Resultatet visar att SMB är det protokoll med bäst stöd i både Linux och Windows. NFSv4.1 kan dock med en Linuxklient uppnå högre prestanda.

<p>Detta arbete handlar om nätverksfilsystemsprotokollen SMB/CIFS, SMB2 och NFSv3. Arbetet baseras på artikeln ”A New Network File System is Born: Comparison of SMB2, CIFS, and NFS” som skrivits av Steven M. French på IBM, Samba Team. I den artikeln saknas det prestandatester och därför känns det relevant att göra prestandatester för att få fram vilket protokoll som har högst hastighet med olika filstorlekar i Windowsmiljö. Dessa tester utfördes mellan två Dell PowerEdge 2900 servar där den första agerade som klient och den andra som filserver. Testerna utfördes en gång utan nätverksfördröjningar (även kallat latens/latency) och en gång med. Detta resulterade i att vi fick stora skillnader i hur snabba protokollen är med och utan nätverksfördröjningar.</p> / <p>This essay is about the networkfilesystem protocols SMB/CIFS, SMB2 and NFSv3. Previous issue date: 1990 / O presente trabalho apresenta uma proposta de informatização das atividades operacionais de um sistema de CIFs, postos informativos do mercado de fretes rodoviários. Esta proposta consiste num sistema computacional (software) baseado em técnicas de inteligência artificial (busca heurística e processamento de linguagem natural), chamado SGCIF, desenvolvido não somente com o propósito de gerênciar as atividades das CIFs, mas também de apresentar uma maneira de maximizar o lucro dos transportadores. O SGCIF possibilita o gerênciamento de um sistema de CIFs de maneira interligada, isto é, todas as CIFs compartilham a mesma bolsa de fretes. Com isso pode haver, em cada CIF o conhecimento de todos os fretes disponíveis em dado momento. Isto amplia os benefícios aos usuários, uma vez que possibilita a escolha da melhor rota entre dois pontos da malha rodoviária, permitindo com isso, uma maximização no lucro do transportador. A determinação desta rota emprega informações heurísticas e algoritmos que constituem idéias sólidas de inteligência artificial. Além de ressaltar a complexidade do problema, este trabalho mostra a modelagem efetuada e sua solução através do algoritmo A* adaptado a função de maximização do lucro.

This work is about setting up Samba software on server with operating system from BSD family to primary domain controller rule in the high school computer network environment with Microsoft Windows stations. After introduction to Samba software there is examined problem of Windows network based on SMB protocol. There are described steps that are necessary to setup Samba software, disk sharing services, creation of user accounts and adding client stations to domain trust. At the next there is described problematic of network printing in the Windows environment, print servers and the solution with classical printing support in FreeBSD and CUPS printing support. In the next part there is described mass installation procedure of Windows stations with same hardware configuration. At the finish, there are noticed some tasks that are necessary for next operation of installed system.
