Sidney Howard, American dramatist: A bio-bibliographic studyUnknown Date (has links)
"The choice of Sidney Howard as the subject of this paper was frankly determined by the fact that this writer has, over the past several years, developed a considerable interest in twentieth century American drama. Howard presents a particularly interesting case, for his more serious and well thought-out plays rank with the better realistic dramas of his time, while the less conscientious efforts show a relationship to the immature playwriting of the previous generation. Whether or not Howard alone would be considered a cardinal figure in the development of the American drama might be open to question. Nevertheless, it may be safely said that he played a part of considerable importance in the maturing process through which our drama went during the third and fourth decades of the twentieth century"--Introduction. / Typescript. / "August, 1952." / "Submitted to the Graduate Council of Florida State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts." / Advisor: Robert G. Clapp, Professor Directing Paper. / Includes bibliographical references (leaves 63-65).

bivariadas, amostras bivariadas contaminadas e perturbadas. Por m, utilizando um
banco de dados real de microarrays usamos o coe ciente de correlação generalizado
na construção de uma rede de relevância.

Petrography, Geochemistry and Geochronology of the Coe Hill Granite, Hastings County, OntarioAtkins, Thomas R. 04 1900 (has links)

A detailed petrographic, geochemical and strontium isotope study of the rocks representing the variations observed across the Coe Hill granite, Grenville Province, southeastern Ontario provides the basis for the determination of the age and possible origin of this pluton. This study also provides insight into the relationships between similar granitoid plutons in the immediate vicinity.

The Coe Hill granite is a medium to coarse grained hypidiomorphic to allotriomorphic, leucocratic quartz monzonite with subordinate isolated inclusions of dioritic and gabbroic gneiss. Variations upon this otherwise homogeneous granitoid occur in discordant aplite dykes, assimilating mafic xenoliths and along brecciated contact boundaries.

Generally the rocks of this pluton are more basic than the average for similar granitoids in the area (12.4% vs. 6.0% mafics) as observed in both thin section and major element oxide diagrams. Besides this trend major element diagrams have uniform distributions. A Rb-Sr isochron was determined for the rocks of the pluton proper which gave an age representative of the emplacement of these rocks (t = 1063 ± 21 M.a.;
Ri = 0.7040 ± 5). Trace element Rb shows a value similar to the norm for granitoids yet is enriched in comparison to values acquired from similar granitoids in the area (144 ppm vs. 63 ppm).

Through a synthesis of the available data, and that which was acquired from this study on the Coe Hill granite, a comparison with the available data on the Loon Lake quartz monzonite can be made. This comparison illustrates a great deal of strikingly similar trends which have been taken to represent a lower crustal, or upper mantle origin, cogenetic relationship between these two granitoids.
/ Thesis / Bachelor of Science (BSc)

Feasibility Study of Small Hydropower/PV/Wind Hybrid System for Off-Grid Electrification of Liben and MedaWoulabu VillagesMandefro Bezie, Yalewayker January 2017 (has links)
According to the International Energy Agency 2016 statistics, Ethiopia is among the lowest countries in annual electricity consumption, 70 KWh/capita. Rural areas hold more than 80% of the country’s population and less than 30% of them have been electrified. Most of the population (the rural areas) still predominantly depend on traditional biomass energy sources for cooking and heating, and household lights are provided mainly by kerosene and biomass including this study area, Tadacha Rarasa, which consist of 4100 households with 6 members, totally 24,600 people[1, 2]. The feasibility study of hybrid system consisting of small Hydro, PV, Wind and Battery is carried out using HOMER as a tool for optimization and sensitivity analysis. TURBNPRO software also assists for the optimization of the small hydropower which is suggested to utilize the 2.2 m3/s ecological flow of the Genale 3 multipurpose hydropower plant’s reservoir. The wind speed and solar radiation data of the site is collected from NASA. Then, the wind speed, solar radiation, electric load and hydro data is input to HOMER in their respective appropriate format for simulation and analysis of the proposed hybrid system. Electric loads of the community is estimated bearing in mind the irrigation, fishery and other opportunities which will arise after the multipurpose project completion in addition to basic household demands. The daily average estimated residential consumption by each family is 9.118 kWh and the daily average total energy consumption per person is 1.872 kWh. After optimization and sensitivity analysis using HOMER, several different feasible configurations of Hydro, PV, Wind and Battery hybrid system has been displayed with a range of 0.049 to 0.067 $/kWh cost of energy. The optimum configuration becomes Hydro/PV/Battery hybrid system with 0.049 $/kWh levelized COE which is closer to the national energy tariff, 0.032 USD/kWh. The optimum Hydro/PV/Battery hybrid system generates annually 18,647,372 kWh with 0.18% capacity shortage and 0.15% unmet load. The hydropower supports the base load and the PV supplies for the peak load demand in the daytime which shares 19% of the total electric production.
