Příprava implementace systému řízení dokumentů a záznamů v organizaci veřejného sektoru / Preparation for the implementation of documents and records management in the public sector organization

Obr, Pavel January 2009 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with documents and records management using the computer information systems in the Enterprise Content Management. The thesis explains basic terms relating to the implementation of information systems and incorporates such systems into the structure of enterprises information systems. Further it describes all main features of currently used systems for the Enterprise Content Management and it explains the fundamental legislative aspects of operation of such information systems. The second part of this thesis practically prepares the implementation of the Enterprise Content Management System in a specific organization of the public sector. The preparation of the implementation is performed from the initial analysis of processes in the organization to the definition of requirements on a specific information system. The knowledge of benefits from the use of an information system in an organization is the precondition of an effective use of such an information system in documents and records management and that is why this thesis proposes a method for measuring of benefits arising from the use of document and records management system in the organization.

Baobab LIMS: An open source biobank laboratory information management system for resource-limited settings

Bendou, Hocine January 2019 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / A laboratory information management system (LIMS) is central to the informatics infrastructure that underlies biobanking activities. To date, a wide range of commercial and open source LIMS are available. The decision to opt for one LIMS over another is often influenced by the needs of the biobank clients and researchers, as well as available financial resources. However, to find a LIMS that incorporates all possible requirements of a biobank may often be a complicated endeavour. The need to implement biobank standard operation procedures as well as stimulate the use of standards for biobank data representation motivated the development of Baobab LIMS, an open source LIMS for Biobanking. Baobab LIMS comprises modules for biospecimen kit assembly, shipping of biospecimen kits, storage management, analysis requests, reporting, and invoicing. Baobab LIMS is based on the Plone web-content management framework, a server-client-based system, whereby the end user is able to access the system securely through the internet on a standard web browser, thereby eliminating the need for standalone installations on all machines. The Baobab LIMS components were tested and evaluated in three human biobanks. The testing of the LIMS modules aided in the mapping of the biobanks requirements to the LIMS functionalities, and furthermore, it helped to reveal new user suggestions, such as the enhancement of the online documentation. The user suggestions are demonstrated to be important for both LIMS strengthen and biobank sustainability. Ultimately, the practical LIMS evaluations showed the ability of Boabab LIMS to be used in the management of human biobanks operations of relatively different biobanking workflows.

Informationsarkitektur, en fråga om designprinciper : En studie av Content Management Systems informationsarkitektur / Information architecture, a question of design principles : A study of Content Management Systems information architecture

Byvik, Joakim, Haji Karimian, Victor January 2019 (has links)
This study aims to answer the questions whether Content Management Systems follow basic information architecture principles whilst designing and developing its systems. The study outlines the three basic areas within information architecture; labeling, information structure and organization, and navigation systems and establishes hypothesis based on the theory surrounding these areas. The hypothesis were also used to define the information architecture principles that we used to test the Content Management Systems WordPress, Joomla!, and Drupal on. The study shows a couple of interesting things in its analysis of the Content Management Systems. Firstly that Content management systems follow basic information architecture principles. But they do so in different ways, but also in ways that are similar to each other. The use of labels, types of navigation systems and information structure were similar between the systems. The differences showed in the underlying systems where more local navigation systems changed and the information schemes used to categorize information differed. The study concluded that Content Management Systems information architecture are designed based on established principles.

Řešení správy dokumentů v agentuře pro výzkum trhu / Document management in market research company

Řehák, Jan January 2011 (has links)
This thesis deals with document management in market research agency. The aim of the thesis is to propose solution for document management based on considering the current situation of IS/ICT in such agency and analyzed requests. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part describes agency, current situation of IS/ICT and original requests and constraints taken into consideration for new solution proposal. The second part covers description of final solution and its components. The third part follows implementation of complete solution into production environment and data migration plan.

Případová studie využití case managementu v pojišťovnictví / Case Study of Case Management Application in Insurance Industry

Kocura, Petr January 2011 (has links)
This paper is focused on new trend in business process automation -- case management; main goal of the paper is proofing of concept for life insurance origination using case management. To fulfill this goal I had to analyze available reports from leading research companies such as Forrester and Gartner. The methodology of achievement the goal of the thesis is complemented with my own practical experiences. This thesis consists from theoretical and practical sections. There are characteristics of case management, general architecture of case management illustrated on IBM Case Manager, market insight of case management and typical case management use cases in theoretical section. Practical section is focused on case management utilization for life insurance origination process. To achieve this, there are defined sample insurance company and process analysis of life insurance origination, analyzed requirements for the proof of concept, its solution architecture and of course the proof of concept is implemented. The last chapter contains evaluation of the proof of concept and includes typical expected case management effects for financial sector. The main contribution of the paper to case management topic is the first complete description of the topic in Czech language and creating proof of concept for case management approach in financial sector.

Collaborative technologies for mobile workers and virtual project teams

McAndrew, Sean T. January 2009 (has links)
Information Technology is advancing at a frightening pace. Cloud computing and its subset, Software as a Service (SaaS), are rapidly challenging traditional thinking for enterprise-level application and infrastructure provision. The project-centric nature of the construction industry provides an environment where the utilisation of SaaS is commercially appropriate, given its ability to provide rapid set-up and predictable costs at the outset. Using project extranets, the construction industry has been - unusually for it as an industry sector - early-adopters of this cloud computing model. However, findings from the research highlight that there is a gap in the information and documents that pass from the construction phase into the operational phase of a building. This research considers examples of the SaaS IT model and how it has been used within a construction and facilities management industry context. A prototype system was developed to address the requirements of facilities management work order logging and tracking process. These requirements were gathered during detailed case studies of organisations within both the construction and facilities management sectors with a view to continue the use of building-specific information through its full life-cycle. The thesis includes a summary of the lessons learnt through system implementation within the construction-contracting organisation Taylor Woodrow, and it concludes with an IT strategy proposal that was developed based on a cloud computing model.

Building an application for the writing process

Lele, Amod Jayant 18 November 2016 (has links)
The idea that writing is a process and not a product is now generally accepted in writing education, but discussions of digital scholarly communication often neglect the idea, in theory and in practice. This thesis report introduces a Mac OS X software package to support the early stages of the writing process, called Brouillon. Brouillon’s features include: the concatenation of discrete note files into notebooks; notes appearing in multiple notebooks; note intake from mobile devices via Dropbox; and an open standard file format. The report also provides a model of the organization of products of the writing process, with a focus on Brouillon’s most unusual feature, multi-notebook notes. It discusses difficulties in implementation and identifies possibilities for future improvement.
