Modulbaserad webbutveckling

Nording, Kristoffer, Groth, Magnus January 2008 (has links)

Axelsson, Sten, Hanzén, Magnus January 2008 (has links)
It has in a broader extent become important for companies and other organizations with large organizations to have a properly functioning web platform where content management is an essential part. Polopoly is a web content management system developed in Sweden, used by several European corporations but foremost Scandinavian such working in different media related business areas. Our aim has been to analyze this tool and render a report which hopefully will assist the initiator of our thesis; a consulting enterprise called Qurius, in their negotiations with future customers, when to suggest Polopoly as a suitable content management solution. By using case studies at companies currently using Polopoly, our goal is to define which characteristic makes the product a competitive publishing tool. To put our analysis in perspective, we will compare the most important aspects of Polopoly with a similar product. According to the results of our investigation we consider Polopoly being a beneficial choice with regard to a number of important parameters. Finally we have summarized these properties in a list of examples explaining in which cases Polopoly is a preferable alternative as a web based content management platform.

Länkhantering i ett innehållshanteringssystem för World Wide Web / Link Management in a Content Management System for World Wide Web

Jonsson, Martin January 2007 (has links)
This thesis presents the design and implementation of a link management system inside a content management system for the World Wide Web – Roxen CMS. Link management means that links within a web site are stored in a central database to enable the possibility for updates and other processing later on, for example when resources are moved within the site. This means that links are kept consistent at all times. The result is a solution where links in documents are replaced by link references, which are resolved by the database when the document is shown. The design and implementation takes the current functionality of Roxen CMS into account.

Användarcentrerad utveckling av dynamiska moduler : En studie baserad på agil utveckling / User-centered development of dynamic modules : A study based on agile development

Haji Karimian, Josef, Eriksson, Marcus January 2017 (has links)
This report describes the process and steps in detail that needed to be taken in order to meet the end users’ needs. The purpose of this study is to develop a dynamic module based on user-centered design (UCD) for Pulsen’s (pulsen.se) new website using the con-tent management system (CMS) SiteVision. UCD integrated with agile development methodologies is an effective combination to increase the focus of a development project on the end users’ needs. In this study we show the pervasiveness of the two methods combined in a development project. The module’s functionality is to allow the end user to quickly - and without effort - sort and filter news articles, events and job postings into lists that will be embedded and reusable on their new website. Manual adaptation of custom modules was configured directly through JavaScript code which made them error prone, causing the modules not to function properly. To combat this problem, we used contextual inquiry (CI) along with usability testing as data gathering methods with both Pulsen’s editors and external participants. The usability tests were used to plan and evaluate the functionality of the prototype in order to make it as user-friendly as possible. The study resulted in an interface with user defined variables derived from a JavaScript module.

Getting Good Installation Guides

Karlström, Erik, Nydén, Johan January 2010 (has links)
Implementations and installations of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP-systems)are often time consuming and complex processes. Technicians who workwith installations of ERP-systems require tools and utilities in order to perform theirwork in a time efficient and qualitative manner. This study is performed at the company Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) inLinköping and has focused on the technical documentation that describes theinstallation process, "IFS Installation Guide". This guide is one of the most importanttools available to facilitate the installation process of the ERP-system, IFSApplications. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze and suggest improvements to the usability andworkflow aspects of IFS Installation Guide. This study is based on seven semistructuredinterviews and one observation with IFS employees working on variousconsultancy services within IFS ‘key regions’. The result from the interviews highlightsa number of problems, which have been analyzed and investigated together withrelevant literature. The findings of this study demonstrate that it is of utmost importance to have a cleartarget audience, easy channels for feedback and that information must be easy tofind in order to develop and maintain high quality in technical documentation.

Aiding Web Usability : Integrating usability with Web Content Management Systems

Velander, Alexander January 2011 (has links)
Web site usability is an important factor when creating and managing web sites, since it essentially determines whether or not the site is usable by its intended audience. As an attempt to simplify the process of achieving high usability for web sites, this thesis has explored the possibility of integrating usability guidelines with web content management systems. The overall aim was to determine if, and how, usability guidelines can be implemented in a web content management system to make it promote and deliver web site usability, and to find solutions that aid web site users in carrying out the basic tasks of finding, reading and understanding information on the web. To estimate the effectiveness of such solutions, the level of human dependency was considered when evaluating the solutions. This thesis has shown that it is possible to construct such solutions, and has found several for each of the basic user tasks of finding, reading and understanding information. Although some of the found solutions automatically improve a site's usability or actively promote site usability, the majority are still dependent on human efforts in order to promote usability. It was concluded that it is possible to integrate usability guidelines with a web content management system, but that web site usability still largely depends on human effort in order to be effective.

ImageTalk : Tillverkandet av en WordPress applikation

Sundberg, Henrik January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the content management system WordPress and the way to develop additional functionality for this system. It will concern the development of a tool to approve published posts and also to manage companies which will be linked on the various pages on a portal called ImageTalk. ImageTalk is the end product, and is a site for publishing digital media over the Internet. WordPress is written in PHP and makes use of css, javascript, and the mySQL database. Since this content management system is widely used, it seemed both relevant and interesting to evaluate WordPress, especially by adding new functionality. The conclusion of this work is that WordPress is a very competent content management system that has great potential to be expanded and changed in most ways. However, it is difficult to give a proper structure of the additional functionality you add, as it sometimes gets scattered and sometimes not sufficiently divided.

Defining usability heuristics for adoption and efficiency of an electronic workflow document management system

Fuentes, Steven 01 January 2017 (has links)
Usability heuristics have been established for different uses and applications as general guidelines for user interfaces. These can affect the implementation of industry solutions and play a significant role regarding cost reduction and process efficiency. The area of electronic workflow document management (EWDM) solutions, also known as workflow, lacks a formal definition of usability heuristics. With the advent of new technologies such as mobile devices, defining a set of usability heuristics contributes to the adoption and efficiency of an EWDM system. Workflow usability has been evaluated for various industries. Most significantly research has been done for electronic healthcare records (EHR). In other areas such as the financial sector and educational institutions there is also some literature available but not as abundant as for EHR. This was identified as a possible research limitation. The general purpose of this research was to establish and validate an overarching set of usability heuristics for EWDM in general. This was approached by conducting a literature review and a survey on 32 workflow consultants from Hyland Software, Inc. Quantitative and qualitative data was collected focusing on the study’s main research question: “what usability heuristics should be defined to ensure the adoption and efficiency of a workflow implementation?" Findings based on regression testing and expert opinions have suggested a proposed set of usability heuristics. The final list consists of: adaptability to diverse platforms, user control, system feedback, intuitive interfaces, visibility on mobile devices, error management, help, and documentation.
