Diploma thesis deals with machining of hardened steels. In the introductory section it is described the physical process of cutting and basic used technologies of machining. The next chapter provides an overview of cutting materials. Other chapters deal with the workpiece material and heat treatment. Furthermore, there is made a comparison of the cutting conditions while machining of hardened steels by tools from selected manufacturers. As the conclusion there is the economic evaluation.

Návrh výroby jednoúčelového stupňovitého obráběcího nástroje / Production Concept of Single-purpose Stepped Cutting Tool

The aim of this thesis is to propose a single-purpose stepped cutting tool for the drilling of the cylinder head. The thesis first introduces the current production of the cylinder head, including the description of the cutting conditions and the machines and tools used in the production process. The second part of the thesis is focused on the drilling of a three-step hole for which a step drill bit is proposed. The proposal describes the development of the drill bit, heat treatment, the method of clamping, the replaceable cutting tips used in the production process, additions for further machining and the cutting conditions. The last part of the thesis then deals with the technical-economic analysis, comparing the present and innovated stage of the production of the cylinder head.

The dissertation consists of the following parts: Technological which includes: Detail design description; Production type determination; Concept of machining parts; The choice of the type of workpiece and the parameter of its receipt; the design of the workpiece and the definition of total allowances for processing; preparation of treatment plans for each surface in accordance with the processing steps; the development of the route, including the assignment of base surfaces, the choice of machine equipment and tooling; modeling sketches for each operation; determination of operational tolerances and allowances for surfaces to be treated; Determination of the operating dimensions of the treated surface; selection of processing modes; determination of time norms for each operation; execution of working technological documentation. Design which includes: Determination of the required strength of fastening (Force calculation); Selection and calculation of the drive device; The design of the device; Precision fixture analysis; Design control device; Registration of working design documentation. Research which includes: Optimization of cutting conditions during milling; Optimization of cutting conditions when machining with various cutters; The calculation of the basic time for optimized cutting conditions; Change in durability with optimized cutting conditions; The calculation of the number of machined parts with optimized cutting conditions. Caracterização da usinabilidade de ultraprecisão em ligas de alumínio fabricadas no Brasil / not available

O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar a influência das condições de usinagem sobre o acabamento superficial no faceamento de uma liga de alumínio com ferramenta de diamante. Os parâmetros de corte variados foram: velocidade de corte, avanço e profundidade de corte. De acordo com a bibliografia consultada apenas o avanço e o raio de ponta da ferramenta afetam diretamente o acabamento superficial, sendo que quanto menor o avanço e maior o raio de ponta melhor será o resultado em termos de rugosidade superficial. A profundidade de corte é dita apenas influenciar na força de corte e não no acabamento. Outro parâmetro de corte que segundo a bibliografia não apresenta influência seria a velocidade de corte, sendo que sua variação não afeta os resultados de acabamento superficial. Os ensaios demonstraram que dentre as condições de corte estudadas o avanço é o parâmetro de maior influência, com os menores valores de rugosidade obtidos para um avanço de 2 &#956m/rev. A profundidade de corte apresentou pouca influência no acabamento, apresentando um efeito previsto pela literatura, o \"size effect\", a uma profundidade de corte de 3 &#956m, e a velocidade de corte não apresentou influência. A liga de alumínio testada foi a 7075-T6. Utilizou-se uma ferramenta de diamante monocristalino nova com raio de ponta de 1.524 mm e ângulos de folga e de saída de 11º e 0º, respectivamente. / The objective of this work was to identify the influence of the cutting conditions on surface roughness of an aluminum alloy faced with a single-point diamond tool. The cutting parameters to be varied were: feedrate, depth of cut and cutting speed. According to the literature, only the feedrate and the tool nose radius have direct influence on surface roughness, in the following way: The lower the feedrate and the greater the nose radius, the better the surface roughness. The depth of cut is said only to influence on the cutting forces and do not affect the surface roughness. The cutting speed also has no influence on surface roughness, according to the literature. Experimental investigation has demonstrated that, among the tested cutting conditions, the feedrate has the most influence with low values of surface roughness obtained at a feedrate of 2 &#956m/rev. The depth of cut has very little influence on the surface finish. lt just showed an effect foreseen by the literature, the size effect, at a depth of cut of 3 &#956m and the cutting speed has not showed any influence. The aluminum alloy investigated was 7075-T6. A fresh diamond tool was used, with a nose radius of 1.524 mm and 11º and 0º clearance and rake angle, respectively.

Manufacturing technology is prepared for conditions of workshop of Department of Machining FME Brno UT (laboratory C2). Acquired knowledges are used for design of innovative manufacturing technology with cutting tools from company Pramet Tools, s.r.o. Manufacturing technologies of gained part are designed for alloy blank EN AW 6082. Technical-economical assessment of all manufacturing technologies is part of this thesis. Both of manufacturing technologies designed for laboratory C2 are assessed together and manufacturing technology given by company Frentech Aerospace s.r.o. is assessed alone due to using different blank material.

The third part deals with its own design of the constructional structure of this machining center.
