Não é nenhum exagero dizer que o conhecimento é hoje o ativo mais importante que uma organização dispõe. As empresas já reconhecem a necessidade de gerir o conhecimento e quanto fundamental é para elas se estruturarem e adotarem práticas de gestão do conhecimento. Dentre os processos que compõem a gestão do conhecimento, o processo de compartilhamento de conhecimento é essencial. O processo de compartilhamento de conhecimento é responsável pela multiplicação na organização dos conhecimentos já existentes, por promover a utilização dos mesmos e indiretamente também por estimular a criação de novos conhecimentos. Desta forma, torna-se então vital a implantação de ações que atuem como fatores facilitadores do processo de compartilhamento do conhecimento na empresa, bem como a implantação de ações que evitem a manifestação de fatores inibidores deste processo. Esta pesquisa é um estudo de caso, realizado na TenarisConfab, cujo objetivo foi compreender profundamente como ocorre a disseminação do conhecimento no âmbito interno da empresa pesquisada e analisar os fatores inibidores e facilitadores desse processo de compartilhamento de conhecimento. Os resultados da pesquisa apresentam: 1) quais são os fatores facilitadores que mais interferem positivamente no processo de compartilhamento de conhecimento; 2) qual o fator inibidor que mais interfere negativamente no processo de compartilhamento de conhecimento; e 3) ações adotadas na empresa que impulsionam o seu processo de compartilhamento de conhecimento. / It is not an overstatement to say that knowledge is today the most important asset that a company may have. Businesses already recognize the need to manage knowledge and how fundamental it is for them to structure themselves and adopt management practices in relation to knowledge. Among the processes which compose knowledge management, the knowledge sharing process is essential. Responsible for the multiplication of pre-existing knowledge in an organization by promoting the use and indirectly stimulating the generation of new knowledge, the implementation of actions which act as facilitators in the knowledge sharing process becomes vital as do the implementation of actions which will avoid any manifestations which could inhibit the process. This research is a case study, held at TenarisConfab, which the objective is to deeply understand how the dissemination of knowledge within the studied company occurs and to analyze the inhibiting factors and facilitators in the knowledge sharing process. The results of this study show: 1) which factors act as facilitators and positively interfere in the knowledge sharing process; 2) which factors inhibit and interfere negatively in the sharing knowledge process; and 3) actions taken at the company which increment the knowledge sharing process.

O objeto de estudo desta dissertação é o estudo de edificações de uso misto dentro de contexto urbano. Serão estudados obras referenciais já concluídas para que se possam avaliar as relações e o desempenho deste tipo de edificação em seu contexto A partir de quatro casos de diferentes características, escala, volumetria, contexto e uso distintos, serão aprofundadas as analises. Apoiados por de métodos de representação gráfica serão analisadas: a relação das edificações com seu contexto urbano, a relação de seus espaços com a escala humana, a composição volumétrica da edificação, a forma como foi implantada, as articulações produzidas , a relação dos perímetros com os espaços de domínio público entre outros aspectos de relevância para a pesquisa. Com isso, busca-se analisar as potencialidades e funcionamento das edificações de uso misto. / The purpose of this dissertation is the study of mixed-use buildings within urban contexts. Through the selection and analysis of reference works already built, it was possible to value the relationships and performance of this type of building in its respective context. These analyzes were focused on four cases of different characteristics, scales, volumetrics, contexts and uses. Supported by graphic representation methods, the following criteria were approached: the relationship of buildings with their urban context, the relation of their spaces to the human scale, the criteria of volumetric composition, the way they were inserted on site, the articulations produced, the relation between their perimeters and the spaces of public domain, as well as other aspects that were relevant to the research. Therefore, it was intended to analyze the potentialities and the functioning of the so defined mixed-use buildings.

Secondary art education programs primarily offer courses in traditional mediums like drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. In addition to valuing these traditional art forms, art education research supports integrating new technologies and media in the classroom. However, the possibilities of creating an exclusively contemporary, new genres curriculum have yet to be explored. This study examines the affordances and limitations of a high school-level new genre curriculum and describes how students reacted to these new genres and how their perceptions of art, student-peer relationships, and artist identities changed over time. By introducing students to new genres, the author found students expanded their definitions of art, became excited about art, and created personally relevant and meaningful artwork. The results of this case study may be valuable to art educators desiring to integrate more contemporary art into their curriculum.

Organizational Culture in Children's Mental Health Systems of CareMazza, Jessica 02 April 2008 (has links)
A cohesive organizational culture has been linked to positive outcomes in child-serving agencies, such as improved child-level outcomes and positive organizational climate (Glisson & Green, 2006; Glisson & Hemmelgarm, 1998; Glisson & James, 2002; Hemmelgarn, Glisson, & James, 2006). Although isolated studies of organizational culture have been conducted in individual agencies (child welfare and juvenile justice), no study has examined the organization culture of successful, holistic systems of care that involve the coordination of multiple agencies, such as child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health and education. Data collected from the three system-of-care sites selected for participation in Case Studies of System Implementation was analyzed for themes using the Atlas.ti qualitative software package. The analysis was conducted through the framework of Schein's model of organizational culture. For each site, examples of artifacts, values, and assumptions were identified. The artifacts at sites were closely related to the articulated values of the organizations. Findings also suggest that there are underlying components to the organizational culture of system of care, including system of care values and principles, collaboration, willingness to change, and leadership. Results also showed that local context affects organizational culture. Suggestions for future exploration into these hypotheses are provided.

A Teacher Retrospective of a Decade of One-to-One DevicesIrish, Sarah J. 01 January 2017 (has links)
One-to-one electronic devices have become commonplace in many educational settings across the globe, but it has been unclear how long-term teaching practices using such devices have evolved and how they relate to recognized best practices for using technology in the classroom. This study examined what a generation of teachers has over time identified as best applications of using these devices; their benefits, drawbacks, and challenges; and whether their use reflected previously identified best application of technologies in the classroom. This case study, conducted in one school system in New England, used the theories of Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition (SAMR) and Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Analysis (TPACK) as a conceptual framework. Participants included two groups, one composed of four teachers who have taught only after implementation of one-on-one laptop use and one composed of four teachers who taught both before and after device implementation, selected to determine whether differences existed in attitudes and practices based on types of teaching experience. Data sources included interviews and observations. Results of inductive analyses indicated both veteran and established teachers embraced the use of one-to-one devices in their teaching, but both groups lacked the knowledge of SAMR and TPACK theories to best apply them in the classroom. This study contributes to the field by including recommendations for stronger teacher technology implementation, including more in-depth training and support with application of TPACK and SAMR theories in classroom pedagogy.

Poor quality financial statement audits have a negative impact on the information provided to principals and stakeholders that can increase the risk of corporate fraud. The well-documented collapses of companies, such as Enron and WorldCom, brought the issue of audit quality to the headlines. Using agency theory as the conceptual framework, the purpose of this single case study was to determine what strategies client managers and boards can use to facilitate an engagement with an audit firm and effectively carry out their responsibility to provide effective relevant evidence and support for their management assertions as outlined in the engagement letter. The population comprised a census sample of 9 individuals with direct involvement in the audit process within a Connecticut-based organization and its audit firm. Data collection comprised of semistructured interviews and analysis of public and internal documents. Using methodological triangulation, 5 primary themes emerged including communication, documentation, knowledge and experience, character, and procedural. The findings of this study may promote social change by enhancing knowledge of what role management can play in ensuring a high-quality audit. Improved insight to the audit process may promote investor confidence in the financial statements and economic growth through capital spending.

Classroom Teacher and Adminstrators Perception of the Teacher Librarians' Contribution to Student Academic AchievementDowell, Barbara Florence 01 January 2019 (has links)
Library research studies have provided evidence that teacher-librarians (TLs) impact student academic success; nevertheless, TLs statewide and internationally are at a critical juncture due to stakeholder groups' ambiguous perceptions regarding their influence on student achievement. The problem in this study involves a local independent school district's lack of conclusive evidence to demonstrate TLs' contribution to student achievement on standardized testing. The purpose of this study was to examine the perceptions of TLs, classroom teachers (CTs), and administrative staff (AS) concerning student achievement as instructed by local TLs. Using Piaget's cognitive theory and Mezirow's transformative learning theory, this qualitative case study explored the perceptions of 15 participants and acquired clarification regarding the TLs' instructional practice. The interview questions focused on perceptions of 5 CTs, 5 AS, and 5 TLs regarding the instructional role of TLs on students' academic success as well as the evidence provided by these stakeholders regarding the value of school libraries. Data collection with semi-structured interviews followed by an open coding thematic analysis revealed 7 themes: (1) involvement in curriculum, (2) flexibility of schedule, (3) preconceived misconceptions, (4) using an evidence-based practice approach, (5) collaboration, (6) access to materials, and (7) a conducive learning environment. The resulting project consisted of a policy recommendation created for augmenting stakeholder perceptions. The project contributes to social change by fostering an informed societal positive perception of the TLs' instructional influence on student academic achievement and by offering a measurable interpretation of the TLs' educational value to the learning community that may transform stakeholder perception locally and worldwide.
