Crime in the Classroom-An Economic Approach

Cheat, a kind of crime, happens in the classroom. This paper is purposed to find how to reduce the probability of cheating, how the policy can make an effect on teachers and students, and how to achieve the best interaction between them. The best interaction is that teachers put in high effort and students choose the strategy which is not to cheat. In the beginning, we assume the game is static. Under the mixed strategy equilibrium, the punishment to cheat has nothing to do with reducing the probability of cheating, but it has a trade-off relation with the probability of teachers to put in high effort. If we add peer pressure into the students¡¦ utility, it will take more probability of teachers to put in high effort to avoid cheating. However, if the policy which is to reward teachers who put in high effort brings into effect, it helps not only reduce the probability of cheating but also achieve the best interaction. After the mixed strategy equilibrium, I release two assumptions. One is to transform the game from static into dynamic, and the other is to make the effort function become continuous. Teachers then become first mover. At this moment, teachers have first-move advantage. When teachers put in some effort more than the level mentioned in the article, students do not have the incentive to cheat. In this case, it is easier to achieve the best reaction.

Detecting cheaters who utilise third-party software to gain an advantage in multiplayer video games

Playing video games are meant to be a fun experience but something that has been proven to ruin the experience are cheaters, maybe even more so in events such as tournaments where money is involved. Even if anti-cheating software exists there also exists a research gap in the subject of cheat detection. And regarding cheat detection the question that matters the most is: how do you even detect a player that is using 3rd-party software to gain an unfair advantage in online video games? To find a solution for this problem a systematic literature review was made were data was extracted from articles relevant for the subject and summarised into results. From the results, a few elementary concepts regarding cheat detection are introduced and analysed with comparisons to the problem statement. Finally, five different types of cheat detection are shown that work by analysing objects such as behaviour, game state or memory.

Machine Learning to identify cheaters in online games

Cheating in online games is a problem both on the esport stage and in the gaming community. When a player cheats, the competitors do not compete on the same terms anymore and this becomes a major problem when high price pools are involved in online games. In this master thesis, a machine learning approach will be developed and tested to try to identify cheaters in the first-person shooter game Counter-Strike : Global Offensive. The thesis will also go through how the game Counter-Strike : Global Offensive works, give examples of anti-cheat softwares that exists, analyse different cheats in the game, consider social aspects of cheating in online games, and give an introduction to machine learning. The machine learning approach was done by creating and evaluating a recurrent neural network with data from games played with the cheat aimbot and without the cheat aimbot. The recurrent neural network that was created in this master thesis should be considered as the first step towards creating a reliable anti-cheat machine learning algorithm. To possible increase the result of the recurrent neural network, more data and more data points from the game would be needed.

This thesis develops an interactive computer-aided graphics package for the display of experimental and field test data. EXPERT was developed to be used in conjunction with MOVIE.BYU and DISSPLA, utilizing a bivariate interpolation scheme to create a full field of data using the "sparse" field data as pivotal points. The usefulness and practicality of the program is demonstrated by graphically displaying the data from the Air Force Weapons Laboratory's CHEAT test.

REFORESTATION OF RED SPRUCE (PICEA RUBENS) ON THE CHEAT MOUNTAIN RANGE, WEST VIRGINIA

The (Plethodon nettingi) Cheat Mountain Salamander is a rare and endangered species that relies heavily on (Picea rubens) Red Spruce for habitat. P. rubens communities on the Cheat Mountain range in West Virginia have been disturbed by fires and logging, and regeneration of P. rubens stands are central to the survival of the P. netting. A supervised and unsupervised landscape classification of three Landsat images over the past 26 years was conducted to analyze change in P. rubens communities on Cheat Mountain Range. Change detection results revealed that from 1986-2012 a 52% growth increase of P. rubens stands, 18% loss, and 29% stayed the same over the last 26 years. P. rubens stands are vital habitat to the rare and endangered P. netting and regrowth of P. rubens is vital in restoring the habitat of the salamander on the Cheat Mountain. The regrowth of P. rubens on the Cheat Mountain range is critical to the survival of the P. nettingi. Identifying critical forest as it relates to salamander habitat is essential for conservation efforts. Since not all P. rubens stands are of equal significance to the P. nettingi, it is important to identify and map those that adhere to their stringent habitat needs as defined by forest fragmentation, aspect, slope, and lithology. I used spatial analysis and remote sensing techniques to define critical forest characteristics by applying a forest fragmentation model utilizing morphological image analysis, northeast and southwest aspects, moderate slopes, and limestone lithology. Patches were ranked based on this quantitative model and key P. rubens stands identified using spatial statistics. The results could aid in prioritizing research areas as well as conservation planning in regards to P. rubens and the P. nettingi. In this study, the MaxEnt modeling framework was used to predict habitat suitability for P. rubens under current conditions and under two future climate change scenarios. P. rubens distribution data was acquired from the U.S Geological Survey. Both the IPCC A1B and A2 emission scenarios of the HadCM3 global circulation model were projected to years 2040-2069 and 2070-2099. Results showed that a substantial decline in the suitability of future P. rubens habitat on the Cheat Mountain is likely under both climate change scenarios, particularly at lower elevations. By the end of the century, P. rubens is likely to be extirpated from the Cheat Mountain Range. By the end of century, the A1B and A2 scenarios predict the average habitat suitability for P. rubens on Cheat Mountain will be 0.0002 and 0.00004 respectively. Conservation as well as species migration efforts for P. rubens should be focused on areas such as Cheat Mountain to preserve this vital habitat.

This paper analyses text on Swedish trade union newspaper Arbetet about taking advantage of immigrants of home service corporation Enklare Vardag.The theoretical framework consists of theories about critical discourse analysis. The analysis is done by employing Norman Fairclough's CDA model, combined with other tools of critical linguistics.The aim is to detect how the idea of ‘othering' and common sense on power relations between employees and employers marries and divorces with each other in this context on benefit cheat. And to define how the signifier and signified work together in the constructed subject position of the cheater in citizens and media representation. To identify that, interviews of different groups of wardship workers speculations towards the article are included. Aside from a "cheater", understanding of common - sense ground in society and media within the field of immigration, labor´s right incorporate the analysis purpose.The chosen article is analyzed from contradicting perspectives of benefit cheat discourse that often supports with right-wing media and criticizes welfare state and on the other hand criticism towards power relation between capitalistic oppression of the working class.
