sin, and between health and cure, trough a research with mothers of children with
Cerebral Palsy from a rehabilitation center in this city. This research discusses the
imaginary that involves the birth of a son / daughter and the changes that a birth of a
child with Cerebral Palsy can cause in the life of those people. These mothers goes to a
process of changes in their ethos, search for the meaning of the misfortune that got
them using Theodicee and others rationalizations connected with the ways of divine
pedagogy that involves the religious imaginary.

Previous issue date: 2017-08-25 / The stress is a present variable among mothers of children with cerebral palsy, according to recent researches. The lack of a social support network, the distant relationship with the medical team, the unawareness about the child’s diagnosis, among other factors, contribute to the increase of stress. However, facing strategies are marked by the use of religiosity and spirituality, as well as the attribution of meaning to the situation of having a kid with palsy. Therefore, the general objective of this research was to measure the influence of religious-spiritual coping and of the meaning attributed to the situation of having a child with cerebral palsy on the level of stress in mothers caregivers. The study was performed on a sample of 30 mothers of children with cerebral palsy within five and ten years of age, and assisted at several institutions in the cities of Taubaté, Tremembé and Pindamonhangaba. The evaluations were made through the instruments ISS-LIP, Scale CRE, a sociodemographic questionnaire, a semi-structured interview, and consults to the pomptuary of the kids. The analysis used was mixed (quali-quanti) and the obtained results showed a high level of stress within this sample (66,7%), average use of religious-spiritual coping and bigger attribution of positive meanings to the situation; however, none of these evaluated variables, despite of being important strategies of facing, has indicated a significant relation with the level of stress. The stress of the mothers demonstrated to be possibly influenced by other qualitative variables, such as the difficulty of communication with the medical team, the access of information about palsy, the social prejudice and the feeling of guilt. The data collected agrees in majority with the respective literature published on the subject, and the results found have made clear the need of implementation of a psychological work with the mothers, aiming to apply strategies of facing stress / O estresse é uma variável presente em mães de crianças com paralisia cerebral, segundo pesquisas recentes.

Kineziterapijos poveikis 10-15 metų vaikų, turinčių cerebrinį paralyžių, jutimų ir bendrosios motorikos raidai / Influence of Kinezitherapy on Development of Senses and General Motorics in 10-15 Year Old Children with Cerebral PalsyPetrikaitė-Gedutienė, Justina 10 May 2006 (has links)
Closely interrelated motoric and sensoric mechanisms are the ones of the main components of the motoric system. Most motoric functions are dependent on integration of sensoric systems. The greatest focus during KT procedures is given to making a movement and postural maintenance, irrespective of the importance of sensoric information. Therefore, sensoric research on the children with cerebral palsy remains relevant and requires more thorough examination.
Purpose of the paper is to overview KT principles applied in case of cerebral palsy and define the influence of kinesitherapy on development of senses and general motorics in 10-15 year old children. The following tasks were set in the paper: 1) To evaluate the sensoric disorder in children with cerebral palsy, depending on the form and type of cerebral palsy; 2) Establish the developmental level of general motorics in children with cerebral palsy; 3) Evaluate influence of KT on development of senses and general motorics in 10-15 year old children with cerebral palsy.
12 children with cerebral palsy took place in the research. Examinees had specific forms of cerebral palsy including spastic hemiplegia, or hemiparesis, spastic diplegia, spastic tetraplegia and type of ataxic palsy. In the course of research, KT procedures had been applied for 9 months. The following research methods were applied in the paper: literary analysis; testing (Assessment Test on the Function of Bodily Movements; Methods of Research on Senses... [to full text]

Never-ending caring : the experiences of caring for a child with cerebral palsy : a thesis presented in fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at Massey University, Palmerston North, New ZealandKlankaradi, Kuephan January 2008 (has links)
Cerebral palsy is one of the chronic conditions which have become a serious health burden worldwide. Consequently, this health burden involves healthcare as a whole, regardless of whether the focus is on the macro or micro system. Glaserian grounded theory was employed to explore and explain the experiences of families who have a child with cerebral palsy, particularly in the Thai cultural context. Unstructured interviews and participant observations were used along the process of data collection from 15 families who have a child with cerebral palsy. Data encompassed a variety of qualitative data sources: interviews, observational field notes, personal documents, pictures, drawings, and information from a literature review. The process of data analysis was guided by Glaserian grounded theory throughout the processes of constant comparative analysis to generate a substantive theory. The substantive theory comprised three core categories: Enduring despair, culture of obligation and responsibility and living with, which were integrated into the basic social psychological process of never-ending caring. The metaphor of a waterwheel was used to depict the basic process. The substantive theory of never-ending caring for a child with cerebral palsy provided an explicit understanding of the experiences of these families in day-to-day living with, and care of, a child with cerebral palsy. It is hoped that this understanding will be a constituent of health care - particularly of people with chronic conditions, whereby the practice of healthcare professionals will improve, thus enhancing the efforts of their work to achieve the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life of children with cerebral palsy and their families.

Emergence de la parole chez des enfants paralysés cérébraux et pathologies associées / The emergence of speech in children with cerebral palsy and associated pathologiesAndry, Soucila 13 December 2017 (has links)
In this research on the emergence of speech among children with cerebral palsy, whose pathology is motor disorders, our epistemological approach lies within theories that help to understand general cognitive development, based on the neurobiological functioning of the brain, and also on motor biomechanical and sensory processes involved in speech production. ln our study, we hypothesized the existence of a correlation between the development of swallowing-mastication and the emergence of speech. Underlying this correlation would be the development of control of the mandible, as well as that of the articulators of the orofacial sphere (tongue, lips, velum and epiglottis). The main experimental results show that despite their pathologies, these children follow preferential trends observed in all "valid" children, with the production of a new associative pattern that appears, including labial and coronal sounds. ln addition, our study indicates that grasping and food intake, through ils diversity, as well as its texture, would favour the development of prelinguistic and linguistic maturity in these children. Moreover, we posit that children with eating disorders, corresponding to primary eating disorders, will tend to develop secondary eating disorders that will lead to speech disorders.
