Esta tese aborda a cultura cinematográfica na década de 1960 em Porto Alegre através do pensamento dos críticos. Trata-se de um estudo de recepção, a partir da noção central de cultura e da teoria das mediações, refletindo sobre a função e a prática da atividade de crítica cinematográfica. O tema é desenvolvido através do depoimento dos críticos e pela análise das publicações Filme 66, revista com dois números editada em 1966 e Jornal de Cinema, com um único número lançado em 1967. / This thesis deals about the cinematographical culture in Porto Alegre in the decade of 1960, through the reviewers’ ideas. It is a reception study, from the main idea of culture and from the mediations theory, reflecting about the function and the practice of cinematographical reviewing. The theme is developed through the report of the reviewers and by the analisis of the publications Filme 66, magazine with two volumes edited in 1966, and Jornal de Cinema, with an only volume released in 1967.

The study aims to discuss the filmic text from central axis such as meta-fiction and the investment in a parodic proposal which works laughter at a level more critical and ironic when compared to other cinematographic works from the director. The research aims to observe the connection between the ludic and the critical (PUCCI, 2007) in traces of a postmodern affiliation (HUTCHEON, 1991). The process involving the artistic conceptions of Guel Arraes (FIGUEIRÔA; FECHINE, 2008) is one of the aspects that we propose to point out, relating the work with other works from the director, mainly, Lisbela e o prisioneiro and O Auto da Compadecida, as well as data from Jorge Furtado s artistic production, co-writer of Romance, like the feature film Saneamento Básico. Furthermore, the study aims to highlight the elements that substantiate the dialogical processes (STAM, 2000) between the various languages that compose the work, investigating, for example the relationship established with other texts, such as Tristão e Isolda. The dissertation also intend to observe the resources from the northeastern culture used in the adaptation of the medieval history, which also have similarities with other literary works (BÉDIER, 2012); (SUASSUNA, 2012). The dissertation still aims to bring up for discussion the conflict established around the creative process in the context of audiovisual production represented diegetically, with attention to categories such as character and plot. / Esta dissertação tem como objetivo realizar uma análise do filme Romance, de Guel Arraes. O estudo busca discutir o texto fílmico a partir de eixos centrais como a metaficcionalidade e o investimento em uma proposta paródica que trabalha o riso num patamar mais crítico e irônico quando comparado a outras obras cinematográficas do diretor. A pesquisa pretende observar a união entre o lúdico e o crítico (PUCCI, 2007) em traços de uma filiação pós-moderna (HUTCHEON, 1991). O processo que envolve as concepções artísticas de Guel Arraes (FIGUEIRÔA; FECHINE, 2008) é um dos pontos que propomos assinalar, relacionando a obra a outros trabalhos do diretor, sobretudo, Lisbela e o prisioneiro e O Auto da Compadecida, bem como a dados da produção artística de Jorge Furtado, co-roteirista de Romance, a exemplo do longametragem Saneamento básico. O estudo objetiva destacar, além disso, os elementos que consubstanciam os processos dialógicos (STAM, 2000) entre as várias linguagens que compõem a obra, investigando, por exemplo, as relações estabelecidas com outros textos, como Tristão e Isolda. O trabalho se propõe também a observar os recursos da cultura nordestina utilizados na adaptação da história medieval, que também guarda aproximações com outras obras literárias (BÉDIER, 2012); (SUASSUNA, 2012). A dissertação pretende trazer ainda uma discussão a respeito do embate estabelecido em torno do processo criativo no contexto de produção audiovisual representado diegeticamente, com atenção a categorias como personagem e enredo.
