CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / O presente trabalho pretende ser uma contribuiÃÃo aos estudos que se dedicam a compreensÃo das formas de experimentar e viver em contextos urbanos. Investigando as maneiras de apropriar-se e relacionar-se em bairros socialmente apreciados atravÃs da violÃncia e do medo, Fortaleza foi revelada sob a Ãtica dos moradores da AerolÃndia. O espaÃo urbano, visto sob o prisma da inseguranÃa, coloca questÃes interessantes para pensar o exercÃcio da cidadania enquanto prÃticas sociais. Em sociedades de massa e de consumo a afirmaÃÃo de individualidades, identidades e visÃes de mundo passam por uma visibilidade imagÃtica difÃcil de ser efetuada em contextos perigosos. Exibir os frutos de uma inclusÃo bem sucedida na sociedade democrÃtica do consumo se coloca como uma tarefa problemÃtica quando o espaÃo pÃblico à apreciado sob o ponto de vista do aumento da criminalidade. Pensando a cidadania nÃo como categoria abstrata, mas enquanto elemento acessado no contexto das prÃticas e relaÃÃes sociais, revelam-se as complexas experiÃncias democrÃticas das massas urbanas marginalizadas. Cidadanias sÃo praticadas, nÃo possuÃdas. / This work is intended as a contribution to studies that are dedicated to understanding the ways to try and live in urban contexts. Investigating ways to appropriate and relate socially in neighborhoods marked by violence and fear, Fortaleza was revealed from the viewpoint of the residents of AerolÃndia. The urban space seen through the prism of insecurity poses interesting questions to think about the exercise of citizenship as social practices. In societies of mass and of comsumptions the assertion of individuality, identity and visions of the world pass through a visible imagery difficult to be carried in dangerous contexts. View the fruits of a successful inclusion in the democratic society of consumption is raised as a problematic task when the public space is assessed from the point of view of the increase in crime. Thinking of citizenship not as abstract category, but as an element accessed in the context of the practices and social relations are proving to be the complex experiences of democratic marginalized urban masses. Citizenships are practiced, not possessed.

The Effects of Leader-Member Exchange on Employee Conceptualizations and Displays of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour: A Mediational ModelJiao, Changquan 01 1900 (has links)
<p>The literature on how employees conceptualize organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) has not been well integrated. Research on employee conceptualizations of OCB is comprehensively reviewed and a model is proposed linking leader-member exchange (LMX), employee conceptualizations of OCB and supervisory ratings of OCB. I found support for the discriminant validity of three key facets of how employees conceptualize OCB: perceived role breadth, perceived instrumentality of OCB and perceived leader expectations for OCB. These facet conceptualizations mediated the relationship between LMX and OCB. My findings challenge past practices of blurring distinctions among facets of employee conceptualizations of OCB and provide new insights into the process by which LMX influences OCB. The use of public space by young people raises issues in Australia and elsewhere in the world. Contests occur between the disparate players seeking a stake in the use and definition of public space. State and local government, young people, the security industry, shop owners, community groups and property developers are some of the major players. In a context of monitoring and control procedures, young people's use of public space is often viewed as a threat to social order (Loader 1996, Crane and Dee 2001, White 1998). This study considers critical intersections between young people and the control of public space. It employs an analysis of relevant youth, citizenship and public space theories. Particular attention focuses on the concepts of political, civil and social citizenship formulated by the British sociologist T.H. Marshall, whose key text Citizenship and Social Class (1950), is still relevant (see Yeatman 1994, France 1997, Mann 1995, Manning and Ryan 2004). Grounded Theory methodology as discussed by Glaser and Strauss (1967) is utilised in the surveying of high school students in Brisbane and Logan to discover their perceptions of a range of public space and citizenship issues. The overall aim of this study is to consider if a connection exists between young people, public space and citizenship and if the use of public space by young people may be understood from a broad rights perspective and the concept of social citizenship, as discussed by Marshall (1950). The self completion survey employed in this study asked 1122 high school students a number of questions about their local community, safety at school, the meaning to them of the word citizenship and their thoughts about CCTV. The key findings were: * Some communities are less concerned about young people, than others; * Most schools are safe, but a number are not. Teachers contribute to student's feelings of safety at school; * The word citizenship carries important meanings for most young people around belonging, community and taking part in community life; * CCTV surveillance does not necessarily make young people feel safe in using public space; * Most young people feel negatively stereotyped by their community; * Most local areas do not have enough youth facilities The survey data is discussed further throughout the study along with citizenship and public space issues.
