El treball és un extens recull de tota una sèrie d'actes d'espoli del patrimoni arqueològic i històric-artístic a l'Alt Pirineu català (Val d'Aran, Alta Ribagorça, Cerdanya, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà i Alt Urgell) durant el segle XX. Analitza quines han estat les causes que han provocat l'espoli d'una part important del llegat històric de les comarques pirinenques.Posa de relleu que l'espoli no ha estat ni és un fet aïllat i puntual sinó força comú, i aprofita per iniciar una nova línia d'investigació en un camp pràcticament verge; així doncs, ha de servir com a punt de partença per a noves investigacions en aquest camp. A més a més, pretèn, tot i que no és pròpiament la seva finalitat, ajudar, orientar i sensibilitzar els professionals i les institucions competents per tal que estableixin les mesures adients de prevenció i protecció del patrimoni.La tesi consta de dos blocs; el primer de caràcter introductori, on es defineixen els termes de patrimoni cultural i espoli, alguns dels condicionants que el provoquen, així com la situació actual en alguns estats europeus, africans, americans i asiàtics. El segon bloc incideix concretament en la problemàtica pirinenca. A partir d'aspectes sòcio-econòmics i legals, entre d'altres, es diferencien quatre períodes, a dins dels quals l'espoli del patrimoni cultural es manifesta d'una manera concreta.Al principi de cada període es contextualitza el marc socio-econòmic i legal i posteriorment es relacionen i s'analitzen els fets dels quals hem tingut coneixement per diferents vies (fonts judicials, bibliogràfiques, orals, etc.). Els diversos períodes tenen unes conclusions pròpies. Finalment, s'indiquen una sèrie de conclusions generals i s'apunten les principals causes d'espoli o èxode, del patrimoni cultural a l'Alt Pirineu i que, a grans trets, podem resumir en quatre:a) El pas del temps sobre les obres.b) L'acció dels col·leccionistes i els museus de concentració.c) Les guerres.d) Els robatoris. / This work is a compilation of several plundering attack to the archeologic and artistic historical patrimony of the Catalan Pyrinees (Val d'Aran, Alta Ribagorça, Cerdanya, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà and Alt Urgell) during the 20th century. It analyzes what caused the plundering of an important part of the historical legacy in this area. It highlights that plundering has not been or is a one off event but rather common so it opens up a new line of investigation about an unexplored field, thus it can be used as a starting point for new work in this field. It is our intent, although not the main goal, to orientate and raise awareness amongst professionals and institutions to establish procedures for art protection.The work has two main parts; an introduction were terms as cultural patrimony and plundering are defined and a report about present day situation in European, African, American and Asian countries.Second part focuses on the Pyrinees problem. Begining with social, economical and legal aspects among others it is possible to establish four main periods where art plundering shows up.Each period is contextualized in its social, economic and legal frame in order to analyze and establish relations with events known from different sources (bibliography, oral, judicial, etc.). The work finishes with four main conclusions to point out the main causes of art plundering or exodus of cultural patrimony from the High Pyrinees, which are:- The passing of time regarding the works of art.- Collectors and museums actions.- Wars- Thefts
