No trabalho enfatizamos a organização sócio-espacial destes lugares e os elementos que possibilitam compreender a dinâmica das comunidades tradicionais inseridas na sociedade moderna. O conceito utilizado considera o lugar, tanto como produto de um movimento que é singular, ou seja, resultante de características históricas e culturais próprias ao seu processo de formação, quanto como uma expressão da globalidade. Igualmente, este conceito possui uma importante dimensão explicativa que possibilita compreender os efeitos, no lugar, do chamado mundo moderno. As comunidades faxinalenses são tomadas como lugares, caracterizadas em dois momentos históricos: na época do estabelecimento dos imigrantes europeus no interior do Paraná, século XIX e XX e o período atual, onde apontamos as transformações sofridas pelas mesmas com a introdução dos novos sistemas de objetos e ações. A análise pauta-se em duas comunidades faxinalenses: Comunidade do Faxinal Anta Gorda no município de Prudentópolis e Comunidade do Faxinal Taquari dos Ribeiros no município de Rio Azul, no Estado do Paraná. As questões centrais, norteadoras do trabalho são: Em que medida, as comunidades faxinalenses, reconhecidas como comunidades tradicionais, se (re)produzem, no mundo contemporâneo, ligadas à tradição? Serão ou não, os objetos e as ações chamados de tradicionais, os elementos que definem o lugar dos faxinalenses na contemporaneidade? A busca de resposta a essas interrogações constitui o principal foco dessa pesquisa, cuja problemática está centrada na análise das comunidades faxinalenses e suas respectivas formas de apropriação do espaço e organização social. / In this research we carried out an analysis about the traditional faxinalenses communities at the contemporaneity. In this paper, we emphasized the socio-space organization of these places and the elements that enable to comprehend the dynamic of the traditional communities inserted in the modern society. The used concept considers the place, as a product of a singular movement, in other words, resultant of the historic and cultural characteristics, proper of its formation process, as an expression of the whole. Equally, this concept has an important dimension of explanation that we can comprehend the effects, on the place, of what we call modern world. The faxinalenses communities are known as places, characterized in two historic moments: the time of the European immigrants’ establishment in the countryside of Paraná, at the end of the nineteenth century and beginning of the twentieth century and the current period, where we pointed the transformations occurred by them with the introduction of new systems of objects and actions. The analysis interlines in two rural faxinalenses communities: Community of Anta Gorda Faxinal, in the town of Prudentópolis and the Community of Taquari dos Ribeiros Faxinal, in the town of Rio Azul, in the state of Paraná. The central issues, the basis of the paper are: In which measurements, the faxinalenses communities, produce or reproduce themselves, in the contemporary world, linked to the tradition? Will they be or not, the objects and the actions called traditional, the elements that define the faxinalenses’ place at the contemporaneity? The search of answering to these interrogations is the principal focus of this research, whose the problem is focused on the analysis of faxinalenses communities and their respective way of appropriation of the space and social organization.

In this context, the municipality of Rio Azul has been chosen to understand the formation and dynamics of rural environments through their communities. The municipality is located in Central-South Paraná and a large portion of its rural communities can be identified as faxinais. Faxinais are traditional communities of a land use pattern that clearly divides “terras de criar” (pasture land), under common use, from “terras de plantar” (cultivation land), which is planted by individual families. The research is mainly targeted at spatial settlement patterns and temporal-spatial differentiations of faxinal communities. In this context, the genesis of those rural communities, which have been structured as faxinais, has been investigated including an analysis of the socio-spatial transformations that have been occurred between 1960 and today. For this purpose, the research has followed different steps. First, a bibliographical research concerning theoretical and conceptional reflections has been made; this step alos has involved statistical and historical data of the municipality and its rural communities. Second, interpretations of the Topographical Map Rebouças (BRASIL 1973) and Google Earth Images (2011) have been used to understand the temporal-spatial transformations of the areas of these rural communities. In a third step, fieldwork has been conducted on the base of observation and interview techniques. Our investigation has paved a new analytical approach to faxinal communities, parting from the perspective of its spatial configurations. 4 types of dynamic settlement structures have been identified in the case of the Rio Azul municipality: a) Faxinais with a nuclear settlement structure; b) Faxinais with a linear settlement structure, c) Faxinais with a poly-nuclear settlement structure; d) Faxinais with a mixed settlement structure. / A presente dissertação foi construída a partir do pressuposto de que as comunidades são locais de convívio pautados por processos e relações sociais dinâmicos no tempo e no espaço. Tomou-se o município de Rio Azul-PR como recorte espacial, tendo em vista entender a formação e dinâmicas do seu meio rural a partir de suas comunidades. O município situa-se na região Centro-Sul do Paraná e grande parte de suas comunidades rurais apresentam características de faxinal. Tratam-se de comunidades tradicionais cuja forma de uso do solo estrutura-se através de uma nítida divisão entre „terras de criar‟ com uso comum, e „terras de plantar‟ com uso familiar. A investigação teve como objetivo central verificar as diferenciações temporoespaciais das comunidades de faxinal a partir da análise dos padrões espaciais de povoamento. Buscou-se apreender a gênese das comunidades rurais identificando aquelas que se estruturaram como faxinais, bem como, analisar as transformações socioespaciais ocorridas nestas entre 1960 e os dias de hoje. Para isso o trabalho seguiu algumas etapas metodológicas. A primeira concerniu no levantamento de bibliografia pertinente para construção do referencial teórico e conceitual da pesquisa, e também do levantamento de dados históricos e estatísticos sobre o município e suas comunidades rurais. Posteriormente tomou-se para estudo a Carta Rebouças (BRASIL, 1973) e imagens Google Earth (2011), onde foram tomados recortes de comunidades rurais para identificação das transformações temporoespaciais. Em um terceiro momento ocorreram as pesquisas de campo, onde foram aplicadas técnicas de observação e entrevistas. A investigação possibilitou uma nova forma de análise dos faxinais, que parte de suas estruturas espaciais. Quatro tipos de estruturas dinâmicas de povoamento foram identificadas com base no estudo das comunidades faxinalenses de Rio Azul: a) Faxinais com estrutura de povoamento nucleada; b) Faxinais com estrutura de povoamento linear; c) Faxinais com estrutura de povoamento polinuclear e d) Faxinais com estrutura de povoamento mista.
