La presa di Gerusalemme del 614 D.C. e l'occupazione sassanide in Palestina / La prise de Jérusalem du 614 après J.-C. et l'occupation sassanide en Palestine / The conquest of Jerusalem in 614 AD and the Sasanian occupation of Palestine

Lauri, Luigi 27 November 2018 (has links)
The research project analyses in detail some works which have been realized within Palestinian framework following the ripple of the events that hit this region throughout the latest Roman-Sasanian conflict. The main purpose is that of constituting a congruent framework of works from those who directly suffer the conquest, trying, from one hand to highlight the theological explanation developed following the event, and from the other hand to demonstrate relationships which connect them to other coeval works.

The Myth of La Malinche: From the Chronicles to Modern Mexican Theater

Perez-Lagunes, Rosario 21 May 2001 (has links)
In the changing discourse on Mexican history, La Malinche has evolved from a historical figure of the Conquest to a national myth and a symbol of all those who have allied themselves with foreigners against their own country and its native values and traditions. On the other hand, La Malinche is regarded as the symbolic mother of the mestizos. This thesis proposes to analyze the figure of La Malinche as both a historical actor in the Conquest of Mexico and as a myth in the creation of contemporary Mexican national identity. Consequently, this study takes into account the chronicles of the conquerors, later Romantic versions, and contemporary cultural and historiographical studies. This study analyzes the changing image of La Malinche in national discourse, especially following Mexico's independence from Spain and the Mexican Revolution, whereupon Mexicans searched for a national identity. It also analyzes different interpretations of twentieth-century scholars as they attempt to vindicate La Malinche from her myth as traitor. Instead, in these interpretations, La Malinche is seen playing important roles as interpreter, strategist, mediator between two different cultures, and feminist symbol. Finally, I rely on twentieth-century Mexican theater to show how the myth of La Malinche is being used, questioned, and revised on stage in accordance with current historiography and socio-economic conditions in Mexico. / Master of Arts

January 2011 (has links)
Abstract: This work proposes to analyze because the interpreter Malinche was described with so much intensity in Chronicles of Indies in the 16th Century. Whereas the history at the time it was understood according to the precept of "teacher of life" -, in which the made positive of the past should serve as examples for the man of present - the writing of the facts was focused on the events grandiose and characters male as well as major players. In this way, the history of the spanish conquest has gained attention because of the importance in the european arena and the conqueror Hernán Cortés has become the major responsible for victory over the indians, given their courage and achievement, virtues exalted at that time. Looking for this pattern of male writing of history, the questioning that is based on this explanation is what has led the chroniclers of Indies to insert Malinche in their reports on the side of Cortés? Taking into account the place secondary to the women, the interpreters and the slaves occupied in the conquest and the chronicles, why, then, a figure that represents everything that has focused on these texts as one of the protagonists of this event? / Mestre

De Vulpian, Paul 16 October 2015 (has links)
Although it became a major field of work for geographers, urbanists and sociologists worldwide over the last decades, Los Angeles urban space still doesn’t have the place it deserves in literature and cinematographic studies.
