Propuesta de una herramienta de control de gestión para la unidad estratégica de negocio-integrated mobile-en Samsung Electronics Chile

Solís Vivallos, Carolina 08 1900 (has links)

Controlling the feedrate of material from a vibratory pipe conveyor using an electro-magnetic vibrator and load cell system

Janse van Vuuren, Gary Peter January 1994 (has links)
Submitted in compliance with the requirements for the National Masters Diploma in Technology: Electronic Engineering, Technikon Natal, 1994. / This work presents a novel way of controlling the feed rate of raw material from a vibratory pipe feeder system. The system consists of a hopper, feeder pipe, electromechanical vibrator and a loadcell which measures the mass of the complete system. Raw material is gravity fed onto the vibrating pipe whose amplitude of vibration controls the amount of material fed. / M

Prime mover : governor test model for large power sytems

Siddal, Robert Gordon January 1968 (has links)
This thesis is concerned with the design, construction and testing of a prime mover - governor model capable of simulating those components of a large power system. This unit is to be used as part of a new power system test model. The model has been designed to simulate a prime mover - governor by controlling a laboratory-size dc motor through the field of a booster with allowance being made for setting up the governor transfer functions, thus obtaining the desired torque and speed responses. Since most methods of power system analysis neglect certain system characteristics and since tests on actual systems could be destructive, it seems desirable to develop a complete power system test model capable of representing a real power system fairly accurately. When the system model is completed, it is hoped that extensive transient stability tests can be carried out and real system control techniques developed. Chapter 2 of this thesis outlines the design of the prime mover - governor model; Chapter 3 describes the realization of the system; and Chapter 5 gives the model tests and results. The test methods and results of machine parameter measurements are included in Chapter 4. / Applied Science, Faculty of / Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of / Graduate

Pitch and Altitude Control of an Unmanned Airship with Sliding Gondola

Alsayed, Ahmad January 2017 (has links)
An unmanned airship has an ability of heavy lifting capabilities, low environmental footprint, and long endurance, however, the unmanned airships are faced challenges linked to the maneuverability during landing and the reliability of control. In this thesis, the six degrees of freedom equations of motion of a miniature unmanned airship with a sliding gondola have been derived. Then the model was implemented and simulated in the Matlab/Simulink. The wind disturbance was also implemented in the model. The model was then trimmed and linearized in to obtain pitch and altitude PID controllers using the gondola position as an input. Both controllers were simulated with different reference inputs and disturbances. The experimental platform, hardware, sensors and graphical user interface of the ground station were described. Then, experimental flight tests were performed to evaluate the pitch controller.

Stochastic simulation for the operation of a flood control reservoir.

Heyland, Stuart Dalton January 1973 (has links)
Most flood control reservoirs are operated on the basis of "fixed rules." The discharge from the reservoir at anytime is related to the reservoir level at that time. The rules are usually derived from the most severe floods which have occurred. However, if a method of forecasting future flows is available, as is the case with snowmelt floods, this information should be utilized in the operation of the reservoir. A stochastic simulation technique is proposed for generating equally likely series of future flows over the complete flood season. Two possible operating techniques have been considered in conjunction with the flow simulation procedure. One involves minimizing the expected downstream damages based on a damage function curve. The other operating routine obtains the average solution based on the assumption of perfect hindsight with each of the several possible flow sequences. Methods for using this information to determine appropriate operating procedures are given. / Applied Science, Faculty of / Civil Engineering, Department of / Graduate

Decomposition and optimal control theory

Masak, Mart January 1968 (has links)
The objective of this thesis is to investigate decomposition and its applicability to the theory of optimal control. The work begins with a representation of the structure of the optimal control problem in terms of directed graphs. This representation exposes a strong connectedness property leading to fundamental difficulties which are central in limiting the class of control problems to which decomposition can successfully be applied. Computational problems of optimal control are then considered, and decomposition is found to provide a framework within which to analyse numerical methods suitable for parallel processing. A number of such methods are shown and a numerical example is used to illustrate the viability of one of these. In the second part of the thesis, the optimal control law synthesis problem is discussed together with an inverse problem. The latter concerns the requirement of a second-level co-ordinator in a hierarchical structure. A multi-level controller is then suggested for a class of systems. The effect of this controller structure is to provide a performance very close to the optimal while maintaining adequate sub-optimal control in case of a breakdown of the second-level co-ordinator. The structure is justified on the basis of the second variation theory of the calculus of variations. Finally, a new computational technique founded on the geometrical concepts of optimal control theory is introduced. This results in replacing the unstable co-state variables associated with Pontryagin's maximum principle with a set of bounded variables. The facility in the choice of initial iterates makes the method promising. / Applied Science, Faculty of / Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of / Graduate

Steady-state characteristics at subsynchronous speeds of an SCR-controlled synchronous motor

Kano, Takashi January 1971 (has links)
Okada's three-phase star-connected circuit with three delta-connected SCRs inserted in the neutral point is analyzed using Take-uchi's ϕ-function method. The three-phase synchronous motor with three delta-connected SCRs inserted in the neutral point of the armature windings is then investigated. By control of the firing of the SCRs, operation at subsynchronous speeds is possible. The analysis of the steady-state operation of the SCR-controlled synchronous motor is experimentally checked. / Applied Science, Faculty of / Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of / Graduate
