O presente trabalho procura identificar como os elementos linguísticos presentes no romance Dias com ele, da escritora síria Colette Khoury, veiculam valores e crenças, reforçando-os ou contrapondo-se a eles, baseando-se nos pressupostos teóricos da Análise Crítica do Discurso (ACD), especialmente os defendidos por van Dijk, e também os da Linguística Sistêmico-funcional (LSF). A partir de trechos escolhidos, em uma tradução livre do árabe para o português, a obra foi analisada e apresenta indícios de construção de um novo sujeito social; no entanto, o romance também possui traços de um discurso tradicional que considera naturais certas condutas sociais. Buscou-se avaliar se as escolhas lexicais do romance indicam ou não uma tentativa de rompimento de um padrão de submissão atribuído ao segmento feminino da sociedade árabe do final dos anos 50. Khoury não propõe de fato um novo modelo de padrão social feminino, mas mostra-nos uma falta de preparo por parte da sociedade árabe para este novo modelo que estava em construção. Percebemos ser necessário um processo de reeducação para que os homens consigam aceitar este novo modelo social feminino e considerá-lo complementar, em vez de uma ameaça, para que, tanto a humanidade quanto a sociedade, possam evoluir juntamente com os avanços da modernidade / This work seeks to identify how the linguistic elements present in the novel Day with him, from the Syrian writer Colette Khoury, convey values and beliefs, reinforcing them or opposing to them, based on a theoretical framework of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), especially those proposed by van Dijk, and also of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) . Through the analysis of some excerpts chosen and freely translated from Arabic into Portuguese, this work shows evidence of building a new social subject, however, the novel also has traces of a traditional discourse that considers certain social behaviors as \' natural \'. We tried to evaluate whether the lexical choices of the novel indicate or not an attempt to change the configuration of the submission assigned to the female segment of Arab society of the late 50s. Khoury does not actually propose a new model of female social standard, but shows us a lack of preparedness on the part of Arab society for this new model that was under construction. Perceiving a process of reeducation is necessary for men to be able to accept this new female social model and consider it complementary, rather than a threat, so that both humankind and society can evolve along with advances of modernity

A Análise Crítica do Discurso (ACD) ocupa-se em investigar e estudar diferentes meios de poder que são perpetrados através da prática discursiva. Outrossim, a re-produção e o combate a esses discursos hegemônicos são preocupações da ACD. Nesse sentido, a presente pesquisa objetivou analisar o Livro Didático (LD) aplicado em curso de Letras (Língua Inglesa) a partir do arcabouço teórico da ACD. O olhar inquisitivo da pesquisa direcionou-se às representações das comunidades linguísti-cas anglofônicas no material analisado. Partindo dessa ideia, o objetivo geral da pesquisa foi analisar, a partir da ACD, o Livro Didático utilizado em formação de pro-fessores no ensino superior (Letras Língua Inglesa) quanto à representação do mundo anglofônico. Objetivou-se, especificamente, investigar a ideologia e hegemo-nia que compõem o discurso do material, compreender o ethos discursivo e a inter-discursividade que subjazem no discurso do LD, bem como identificar o discurso etnocêntrico que contém relações de dominação. O LD utilizado no estudo foi o New Framework 2. Para a persecução dos objetivos, a Fundamentação Teórica da pes-quisa foi baseada nos postulados de teóricos da ACD, como Fairclough (2001), Van Dijk (1997; 2012), Maingueneau (1997; 2008; 2013) e Amossy (2014). A pesquisa também fundamentou-se em teóricos dos estudos culturais, sociologia, história e educação (ensino/aprendizagem de Línguas Estrangeiras), como Hall (2003; 2006), Goffman (2014), Lacoste (2005) e Thompson (2011). O estudo mostrou que o LD, utilizado em curso superior de formação de professores, transmite uma determinada ideologia que será repassada adiante em salas de aulas. Isto é, há um discurso he-gemônico que encontra sua maneira de perpetuar-se. / Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is concerned with the investigation and study of different means of power that are perpetrated through the discourse practice. Fur-thermore, the reproduction and the combat to these hegemonic discourses are con-cerns to the CDA. In this sense, the present research aimed to analyze a Textbook, which is academically used in an English Language Course to form English teachers at a University, under the CDA theoretical framework. The inquisitive look of the re-search is directed to the representations of the anglophonic communities in the ana-lyzed material. From this idea, the general objective of the research was to analyze, from the CDA perspective, the representations of the anglophonic world in the Text-book. It was also aimed to investigate the ideology and hegemony that encompass the discourse of the Textbook, to comprehend the discursive ethos and the interdis-cursivity underlying the speech of the Textbook, as well as to identify possible ethno-centric discourse containing relations of domination. The Textbook used in this study was The New Framework 2. In order to pursuit the objectives, the Theoretical Framework was based on different CDA theoreticians, such as Fairclough (2001), Van Dijk (1997; 2012), Maingueneau (1997; 2008; 2013) and Amossy (2014). The research was also based on theoreticians from the cultural studies, sociology, history and education (teaching/learning of Foreign Languages), such as Hall (2003; 2006), Goffman (2014), Lacoste (2005) and Thompson (2011). The study showed that the Textbook utilized in the research transmits a certain ideology that will be passed on in classrooms; meaning that there is an hegemonic discourse that finds its way to be perpetuated.

The diversity of discursive strategies is investigated and/or communicative used by the print media journalistic to build this event, redefines facts. Being considered that such strategies look for to "capture" the reader and to do with that he identifies, starting from the enunciation contract, with certain interpretations of the facts, becomes essential a discursive analysis of the text (verbal and non-verbal) to understand that roads are trodden to exercise that "attraction". Besides the theories of critical discourse analysis, we supported in the works philosophical/sociological of Laclau, Baudrillard and i ek, to build the conductive threads of this work. For analysis of the texts, we adopted the critical analysis of discourse, starting from Norman Fairclough. Already the theories of more philosophical stamp (in some cases to multidiscipline, as of Laclau, Baudrillard and i ek), they went fundamental to examine the context of the political point of view, to know, of the discursive formations in search of the hegemony and of totalization over the action, involving positioning and ideologies in global reality. In that way, it was possible to guide the research second a critical positioning in relation to the print media. The analysis was divided in six thematic axes. They are them: globalization, terrorism, widespread war, exception state, fundamentalism and hegemony / Esta pesquisa investiga os modos de construção do Outro islâmico em revistas semanais impressas de circulação nacional CartaCapital, Época, IstoÉ e Veja -, tendo como "corpus" reportagens veiculadas em dois períodos distintos: 12 de setembro de 2001 a 31 de dezembro de 2001, meses que marcam o período compreendido entre o dia seguinte aos ataques aéreos contra os Estados Unidos e a posterior invasão do Afeganistão, que ocorreu em outubro de 2001; e 1 de março de 2003 a 30 de junho de 2003, meses que englobam períodos anterior e posterior à invasão do Iraque, que se deu em março de 2003. Investiga-se a diversidade de estratégias discursivas e/ou comunicativas utilizadas pela mídia impressa jornalística para construir esse acontecimento, ressignificando os fatos. Considerando-se que tais estratégias buscam capturar o leitor e fazer com que ele se identifique, a partir do contrato de enunciação, com determinadas interpretações dos fatos, torna-se essencial uma análise discursiva do texto (verbal e não-verbal) para entender que caminhos são trilhados para exercer essa atração . Além das teorias de análise crítica do discurso, nos apoiamos nas obras filosóficas/sociológicas de Laclau, de Baudrillard e de i ek, para construir os fios condutores deste trabalho. Para a exame dos textos, adotamos a análise crítica de discurso, a partir de Norman Fairclough. Já as teorias de cunho mais filosófico (e em alguns casos multidisciplinares, como a de Laclau, de Baudrillard e de i ek), foram fundamentais para examinar o contexto do ponto de vista político, a saber, das formações discursivas em busca da hegemonia e de totalizações dirigidas à ação, envolvendo posicionamentos e ideologias globalizadas. Cujo objetivo principal consiste em analisar os discursos e encaminhamentos presentes nos embates, que resultaram na Resolução UNIV. Nº 17 de 9 de dezembro de 2013 da UEPG. Os objetivos secundários consistem em contextualizar a elaboração da atual resolução, através de investigações das articulações e manifestações, que contribuíram para que os Movimentos Sociais fossem ouvidos durante o Conselho de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão e do Universitário, que ocorreu no final do ano de 2013. Por último, analisaremos o desdobramento da atual resolução, a cartilha informativa sobre as políticas de cotas na UEPG. Para este fim, na fundamentação epistemológica, discutiremos sobre a temática das políticas de cotas, através do eixo teórico-metodológico da Análise Crítica do Discurso (ACD), baseando-nos em Fairclough (2005 e 2008), Van Dijk (2001, 2008 e 2005), Magalhães (2005), Ottoni (2007), Pereira (2011), Sales (2012), Resende e Ramalho (2005), Pagano e Magalhães (2005) e Marcuschi (2008). Também refletiremos sobre a relação entre discurso e poder dentro de um sistema social de desigualdade racial, pautando-nos em: Van Dijk (2001, 2008 e 2010), Muniz (2009), Oliveira (2006), Moita Lopes (2013), Rivas e Diez (2014) e Blommaert (2006). A metodologia impregnada foi de base qualitativa, a qual também envolveu Estudo de Caso, Pesquisa Documental e ACD. Desta maneira, apresentaremos as análises que realizamos em diferentes tipos de textos que registraram o Conselho Universitário de 2013. Em nossas considerações, apresentamos algumas conclusões baseadas em tudo o que discutimos durante nossas reflexões teóricas, onde avaliamos a trajetória que a presente pesquisa seguiu até então, junto com algumas considerações acerca dos resultados obtidos. / It will be introduced trough this dissertation, the research of the master program started in the first semester of 2015, in the Postgraduate Programs of the Language Studies, of the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG). Which key objective consists in analyzing the discourses and directions present, in the follow Resolution UNIV. N° 17 of 19th, December 2013 of the UEPG. The supporting objectives consists on the contextualization and elaboration of the current resolution, trough investigations of demonstrations that contributed for the social movements to be heard at the meeting of the Conference of Education, Research and Extension and the University, that happened by the end of 2013. In conclusion, we will analyze what followed the current resolution, the introductory textbook about quotas at UEPG. To do so, in the epistemology we will discuss about the theme of quotas trough the theoretical and methodological axis of the Critical Analysis of Discourse (CDA), based in Fairclough (2005 and 2008), Van Dijk (2001, 2008 and 2005), Magalhães (2005), Ottoni (2007), Pereira (2011), Sales (2012), Resende and Ramalho (2005), Pagano and Magalhães (2005) and Marcuschi (2008). Also, we will be reflecting about the relation between discourse and power within a social system of the racial inequality based in, Van Dijk (2001, 2008 and 2010), Muniz (2009), Oliveira (2006), Moita Lopes (2013), Rivas and Diez (2014) and Blommaert (2006). The impregnated methodology was of qualitative base, which also implicated in Case Study, Documentary Research and CDA. By this mean, we will be introducing the analysis that we realized in different kind of texts that registered the the University Conference of 2013. In our considerations, we introduced some based conclusions in all that was discussed during our theoretical reflections, where we evaluate the trajectory that the present research followed until then, along with some conclusions of the obtained results.
