Investigating the impact of knowledge management on HRM performance with moderating role of cultural dynamics : A Multi-group analysis of Family firms in Pakistan and Sweden

Abbas, Khizer, Qazafi, Shahzad January 2022 (has links)
Abstract Introduction: Knowledge is the most crucial aspect to gain a competitive advantage in today's world. However, to gain H.R., the effective knowledge is the most challenging part of modern society. The creation, management and usage of information is straightforwardly influenced by a few practices and methodologies of Human Resource Management (HRM). Knowledge management and Human resource management, both disciplines, has a great effect on information financial aspects. Research Problem and Questions: This study is done with the intention to gauge the impact of Knowledge management practices on H.R. performances and to check that how cultural dynamics affect the performance of the family businesses. Theoretic Area of the Study The theoretic area of the study deals with knowledge management and human resource management output/performance along with cultural dynamic moderating impacts. Research Methodology: It is a cross-sectional comparative study, and data is collected usingquestionnaires. The cultural dynamics were compared from Sweden and Pakistan. The tool was adapted from already existing studies, and the reliability and validity were checked beforehand. Conclusion: From the study, it is seen that Cultural dynamics act as a moderator amongst the HRM performance and Knowledge Management, and there is a strong relationship between knowledge management practices and HRM performance. The results also show that the correlation between K.M. and H.R. performance is relatively stronger in Sweden while it is moderate in Pakistan.

Peuplement et dynamique culturelle à l’âge du Fer Ancien et Récent dans le Nord-Est et le Nord de Taïwan : approche technologique des assemblages céramiques du site de Chiwulan (Ilan, Nord-Est de Taïwan, 650-1850 EC ) / Iron-Age Settlement and Cultural Dynamic in Northeast and North Taiwan : A Technological Approach to Ceramic Assemblages at the Chiwulan Site (Ilan, Northeast Taiwan, 650-1850A.D.)

Wu, Hsiu-Chi 06 January 2012 (has links)
Situated at the junction of historic times, Taiwan’s Iron Age is considered the key to understanding the origin and history of the island’s aboriginal peoples. With this perspective, this thesis focuses on the Iron Age in Northeast and North Taiwan through a research into the affiliations among ceramic traditions from different periods and areas. To investigate the ceramic traditions of northeastern Taiwan, we used artifacts unearthed at the Chiwulan site in the Ilan Plain. This site, excavated during 2001-2003, includes two culture layers: the bottom layer dated from 650 to 1150 A.D. and the top layer from 1350 to 1850 A.D. Study of the ceramic assemblages was guided by the principles of the technological approach. In accordance with the concept of « chaîne opératoire », artifacts were identified and classified sequentially according to their technical, petrographic, and morpho-stylistique characteristics. Our results show that there is a remarkable affinity between early and late Iron-Age ceramics, implying a continued occupation by the same culture group. We then compared the Chiwulan data with regional data (from other sites in the Ilan Plain) and macroregional ones (from sites in North Coast and the Taipei Basin). What we found seems to support the idea that, in the early Iron Age, culture groups in the North and Northeast shared a common origin. Early settlers in the North seem to have advanced into the Northeast. Then in the late Iron Age, a reverse movement could have occurred with settlers from the Ilan Plain expanding upwards to the North. There also existed in the late Iron Age a similarity in the material culture of the northern and northeastern aborigines, whose recent descendants, though ethnically and linguistically diverse and distinct from each other, again demonstrated such an affinity in their material culture, suggesting filiation and continuation of Iron-Age culture. There was also a phenomenon of ethnogenesis. The evolution of new ethnic groups later on might have been related to the introduction of metallurgy.

L'humour créole réunionnais : dynamique linguistique et culturelle (1963 - 2011) / Creole humour from Réunion : linguistic and cultural dynamics (1963 - 2011)

Lauret, Francky 06 July 2017 (has links)
The research Creole Studies is based on a complex linguistic, social and historiographical framework, represented in the live shows of Réunionese comedians, major contributors to the oral tradition across 48 years. The discussion explores the theories of humour defined by Freud S. (1905) and Stora-Standor J. (2015). Questioning the sematic schema of humour elaborated by Attardo S. (1994) a new schema, specific to the situation of Créole Réunionese, is established thanks to a comparative study of lexicographical works on Créole Réunionese (1972-2014). This thesis leads to the linguistic formalization of a semantic field of humour, with the universal and specific schemas of Réunionese Créoles. The corpus of live performances, selected from a body of 131 productions, includes 661 quotes from 59 shows, totalling 6 hours, comprised of 119 characters are from the following performers: Cazal (1963), Kichenin (1965), Vabois (1979, 1990), Jardinot (1989, 1990, 2011) Mangaye and Cadet (2005), Sinaman and Faubourg (2011). The historiography of humour in Réunion Island from 1804 to 2017 and confirms the hypothesis of a convergence between mass entertainment originating in the oral tradition and reinvented by the comedians. Créole language humour, thus reconstructed in 10 semantic fields and 200 lexical units, shows a key to the lexicon of humour at the intersection of syntactic and semantic data (Staudacher-Valliamée G., 2004, 2010). The collective Créole knowledge used on stage and in the new communication technologies identifies a grammatical class of interjection, the use of humour in referencing linguistic signs, the implementation of 50 linguistic and cultural methods.

Les populations forestières face à l'écotourisme : incitations, réticences et expériences en cours en Guyane française / People face a forest ecotourism : incentives, reservations and experience current French Guiana

Ekomie Obamé, Landri 15 November 2012 (has links)
A fashionable concept for some decades, « ecotourism » has been selected as the leading product for National Parks and large forests areas. With the opening, in 2007, of the “Amazonian park of Guyana “, the “Wayana”, like other local traditional communities, have not escaped from theories related to sustainable development as well as the “ecotourism”. But what reality stands behind such a concept in the southern part of Guyana, geographically isolated, and under the influence of strong cultural identities and a clandestine and criminal gold extraction activity. The current study tries to understand the cultural movement and their ambition to maintain a cultural identity, in a society in complete transition. In order to study the social and cultural changes, the author has observed the Indians way of life in the heart of Guyana today, as opposed as to how it was yesterday. Our study points out that, although very interested by the modern world, Indians still depend on natural resources and are concerned with the preservation of their identity. Their ways of using resources have certainly evolved, but they remain basically respectful of the environment and biodiversity because these societies function in order to minimize any negative impacts on their environment. These societies are therefore concerned with the management of their resources in a durable way. It’s easily perceivable in the itinerant agriculture, also in the fishing “à la nivrée”, where the area is left unexploited for regeneration after resources have been used. The search for an endogen compromise between a traditional way of life and a modern one is quite significant when one observes and analyzes the evolution of the Amerindian habitat. Opting more and more for buildings with partitions and separations, not just covered with basic vegetable roofs but with metallic material, the “Wayana” have not abandoned the use of “carbet-hamoc”, nor of open air toilets where the population live. Indians, traditionally, use streams as toilets. Our study shows that this custom is the same for all Indians living in the interior territories of Guyana, because it goes beyond a simple hygienic and physiological concern. In their cultural system, this rule is not systematically imposed by the natural environment. It’s governed above all by an ecological logic, pertinent to these micro societies, followed by the necessity to clearly identify two different worlds: the animal world and the human world. According to internal “Wayana” logic, it is only wild animals that use the ground for their excretions, whilst human beings, in order to distinguish themselves, use streams. But, facing changes brought about by the external world (sedentary life, demographic expansion, social care…), the internal coherence of the social and cultural model of the “Wayana” is in jeopardy. Installing a culture of “ecotourism” therefore seems to confront logics: one set of exogenous logics brought on by its promoters and another set of endogenous logics maintained by the autochthon traditional populations fitting with their holistic vision of the universe, leading either to some form of compromise or to antagonist attitudes opposed to any type of negotiation.
