Siendo la legislación eclesiástica la que aportó de forma decisiva al reconocimiento de los esclavos como seres humanos. En ese sentido, nuestra propuesta buscará reconstruir los caminos de adecuación y resistencia que los esclavos ofrecieron frente al sistema. Asimismo, cómo este les permitió cuestionarlo a través de sus propios elementos, como el derecho. / This paper analyzes the use of the courts by African population in Lima in- seventeenth century, as well as the church's role in the protection of their married life. The paper also explores the way ecclesiastical legislation decisively contribuited to the recognition of slaves as human beings. In order to achieve this purpose, the paper reconstruct the mechanisms of adaption and resistance used by slaves against the slavery system. In addition, the text shows how the system itself allowed slaves to question it through its own elements such as the law
