The networking of control devices is well advanced in a modern automobile. To ensure secure communications with each other and to prevent mistakes due to communication error, protocol tests are performed at the physical and data link layer level. In a modern car the diagnosis of the electronic devices (e.g. reading/deleting fault memory entries) is done with a standardized communication protocol (UDS - Unified Diagnostic Services). Modern control units have this diagnostic capabilities to detect this communication error among others. This data is provided for a guided troubleshooting the vehicle via a defined interface. In this communication test detection mechanisms are specifically stimulated and read afterwards. In order to read or delete these entries, a diagnosis query is performed on the basis of the diagnostic protocol UDS. The diagnostic requests are currently performed with a diagnostic service of bus analysis software Vector CANoe. This service requests can be performed directly on CAN but for the diagnosis of other bus systems a software gateway is used. The maintenance required and the error rate of the software gateways is very high and should be replaced in the future. Furthermore, additional bus systems can be integrated only with great effort. Therfore the main aim of the master thesis was to develop a concept for univesal UDS API and afterwards implementation of that concept using CAPL programming for modular use in test environments for vehicle communication testing.

This study was designed to answer the following research questions: "Are those at risk for coronary heart disease being screened for high blood cholesterol?" and "Are those with high blood cholesterol being treated according to the national guidelines?" The importance of early detection and treatment of high blood cholesterol is vital for preventive health care. A chart review of patient records was conducted to determine the behavior of the family practice residents. From the analysis of data it was determined that the residents screened their patients 83.0% of the time and when compared with national guidelines, treated those patients identified with high blood cholesterol 52.8% of the time. Third year residents screened their patients more (88.7%) for blood cholesterol than first (82.1%) or second (74.7%) year residents. Male residents screened a higher percent of their patients (84.8%) than female residents (75.0%). / Department of Physiology and Health Science

Não obstante a ABRAMED foi um balizador técnico auxiliando o posicionamento jurídico quanto aos processos de tributação e trabalhista, dada a expertise da associação na cadeia de produção e segurança dos trabalhadores do setor. A cada dia, a medicina diagnóstica vem ganhando força e solidez por meio da Associação Brasileira de Medicina Diagnóstica, a qual vem cumprindo os seus objetivos na defesa dos anseios da sociedade e de seus associados, na afirmação institucional, no aprimoramento técnico-científico do setor e na excelência dos serviços de diagnóstico em prol da qualidade de serviços prestados ao paciente. / ABRAMED (Brazilian Association of Diagnostic Medicine) was founded through the convergence of the interests of the largest diagnostic services companies in Brazil and through the mechanisms of action policies inherent to an association, contributes to the development of the sector it represents. ABRAMED's historical analysis demonstrates the importance of this association in the health value chain of diagnostic medicine. In this way, the healthcare market gains in competitiveness, process performance and better costeffectiveness. Great achievements have been catch up through ABRAMED's work in many areas with its specialized chambers and focused on themes such as technical, legal and, more recently, the communications group, which perform specific functions. Politicaleconomic, regulatory, legal, and fiscal actions, including interlocution with other sectors of society, such as the press, have resulted in a significant sequence of achievements for the health sector. The ABRAMED has been a player in the inclusion of new procedures in the roll of procedures of the National Agency of Supplementary Health, assisted the Federal Medical Council in understanding the technical responsibility of diagnostic medicine establishments, and emphasized to the Federal Medical Council the importance of the regionalization of the medical work by state of origin, so that there could be pathological evaluations on samples or even medical images originating from other federation states. The ABRAMED also assisted the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency in discussing the safety of biological material transportation, reprocessing of medical materials, and digital certification of examination reports. Nevertheless, the ABRAMED was a technical benchmark helping the legal positioning regarding tax and labor processes, given the association's expertise in the production and safety chain of the sector's workers. Each day, diagnostic medicine has been gaining strength and solidity through the Brazilian Association of Diagnostic Medicine, which has been fulfilling its objectives in defense of its members' wishes, in institutional affirmation, in the technical and scientific improvement of the sector and in excellence of diagnostic services for the quality of services rendered to the patient.
