The paper presents specifics of logistics outsourcing, gives recommendation on how to execute outsourcing relationships, and conducts a research focused on preferences of companies on logistics services to help providers better target their potential clients.

This thesis is focused on logistics and supply chain management in transnational companies.

The master thesis is focused on processes of distribution of goods in urban areas which are generally called city logistics. The aim of the thesis is to fing out the potential of the application of city logistics in Ceske Budejovice.

The topic of my work is about how the product is getting from designers to final customer. As logistic is a collection of many different activities we talk about production, warehousing, transport and final presentation to the customer. But nowadys logistics is not only about material flow but about the information flow as well. That is why we cannot forget to mantion the communication with the client and getting his response.

Charakteristika přepravy balíkových zásilek v oblasti vnitrostátního styku. Byly osloveny vybrané logistické firmy s přesně specifikovanými požadavky zákazníka, požadavky byly zaslány e-mailem a odpovědi na zasláné otázky byly následně zpracovány do tabulky a vyhodnoceny. Cílem práce byla charakteristika jednotlivých logistických společností a vyhodnocení jejich nabídky k zaslané poptávce.

The aim of this thesis is to clarify what is the outsourcing of logistics services and what kind of logistics providers are on the logistic market. Second goal is to introduce the company C.S.CARGO from its beginnings till now and to present their range of complex services. The last objective is to prepare recommendations for creation of the business and marketing strategy of the logistics division C.S.CARGO a.s. The thesis deals with the method layout of choosing the most suitable locality for a logistical entity. Regarding the difficulties of multicriterion decison process, when quantitative and qualitative criterions enter to the decision-making, and regarding the fact, that for optimalization of quantitative criterions exist many well accessible instruments, the aim of this thesis is the layout of a new model, which will evaluate only qualitative criterions in chosen localities. Submitted model is based on the expert system's principle and it compile through statistical enquiry empirical knowledge of more than 110 experts -- logistical managers, who evaluated localities for logistical entities during their praxis. Integral part of an expert system, knowledge base, contains 57 characteristics divided into six groups, which enable evaluation of the locality appropriateness for the logistical entity. Consequently, the expert system is capable to compare particular variants and to vizualize the classification. The proposed method represents a subsidiary deciding instrument while solving strategic problems in company development and it facilitates objective decision-making about suitable location of logistical entity. In the thesis a case study is processed. This case study assesses 3 localities, where centres of University forest enterprise Křtiny are situated.
