Integrace chodecké intervence kombinující monitor fyzické aktivity a online aplikaci do preventivní péče poskytované praktickým lékařem pro dospělé: pilotní randomizovaná kontrolovaná studie / Integration of walking intervention combining activity monitor and online application into preventive care in general practice: pilot randomised controlled study

Větrovský, Tomáš January 2018 (has links)
4 Abstract Background: Insufficient physical activity is one of the leading modifiable risk factors responsible for numerous chronic diseases and for premature death. Walking can be considered as the most natural form of physical activity and can be easily incorporated into many activities of daily living. Interventions aimed at promoting walking could substantially contribute towards increasing physical activity levels of the most sedentary individuals; within these interventions, pedometers are commonly used as effective motivational instruments to increase walking in healthy adults and across a range clinical conditions. Additional counseling provided in regular intervals throughout the intervention period can positively influence patients' adherence and help patients overcome certain psychological or lifestyle barriers, ultimately increasing physical activity. Objectives: The main objectives are: (1) To evaluate the feasibility of a pedometer-based walking intervention supplemented with a counseling component in a pilot randomized controlled trial. (2) To assess the preliminary efficacy of the intervention on PA levels and health-related outcomes, including measures of mental health and health-related quality of life. (3) To qualitatively explore the views of patients participating in the intervention....

Telling Your Stories:Designing an Online Email Based Storytelling Group for Older Adults

January 2014 (has links)
abstract: The aim of this study is to test the feasibility of building a storytelling system for older adults to tell and share their life stories based on email. It is measured by the level of participation and people's acceptance of the system. The central goals were to empower people over 60 years old by providing a platform for them to share their wonderful life experience and perspectives on life and lead social services into the digital age by bridging traditional roundtable interaction and modern digital communication. A prototype was built to test the level of participation of the system and follow-up interviews were conducted in order to deeply understand people's acceptance. Content analysis was used to analyze the stories to ascertain what common themes were present. Key design considerations and key factors that affect the feasibility of storytelling system were discussed. This research expands on current research and implementation of Internet-based storytelling system and shed light on the future of combining storytelling with older adults' existing Internet knowledge. Key findings of this research are :(1) Frequency of reminiscence trigger and the number of active participants affect the level of participation collectively. Frequency is considered to be a key determinant. High frequency indicates high level of participation. (2) Categories of topics do not affect the level of participation significantly but serve as key attractions that enhance people's acceptance of the system. (3) Older adults highly accept and get involved in the new email storytelling system. This storytelling program helps them recall their memories and have a profound effect on their own introspection. / Dissertation/Thesis / M.S.D. Design 2014

Anti-phishing system : Detecting phishing e-mail

Mei, Yuanxun January 2008 (has links)
Because of the development of the Internet and the rapid increase of the electronic commercial, the incidents on stealing the consumers' personal identify data and financial account credentials are becoming more and more common. This phenomenon is called phishing. Now phishing is so popular that web sites such as papal , eBay, MSN, Best Buy, and America Online are frequently spoofed by phishers. What’s more, the amount of the phishing sites is increasing at a high rate. The aim of the report is to analyze different phishing phenomenon and help the readers to identify phishing attempts. Another goal is to design an anti-phishing system which can detect the phishing e-mails and then perform some operations to protect the users. Since this is a big project, I will focus on the mail detecting part that is to analyze the detected phishing emails and extract details from these mails. A list of the most important information of this phishing mail is extracted, which contains “mail subject”, “ mail received date”, “targeted user”, “the links”, and “expiration and creation date of the domain”. The system can presently extract this information from 40% of analyzed e-mails.

Analysis of Organizational Structure of a Company by Evaluation of Email Communications of Employees : A Case Study

Kota, Sai Mohan Harsha January 2018 (has links)
There are many aspects that govern the performance of an organization. One of the most important thing is their organizational structure. Having a well-planned organizational structure facilitates good internal communication among the employees, which in turn contributes to the success of the organization. Today, company re-structuring is very common in the industry. When various key employees are re-organized (moved to different hierarchical positions), the company might experience certain incidents which can be damaging or beneficial for the company. To leverage the potential gain, having an efficient organizational structure is very important for a company. The primary objective of this study is to analyze the existing organizational structure of the company by the evaluation of email communications between the employees, and if required suggest the need for re-organization. In this case study, we have applied various cluster validation techniques to evaluate the email communications between the employees. The data (email logs) are provided by the company which have been recorded at different time periods. We have analyzed the organizational structure through the analysis of these email logs. We have then simulated various re-organization scenarios. By applying various cluster validation metrics, we have examined the quality of the existing organizational structure. We have also recorded how re-organization (moving employees from one organizational unit to other) effects the overall quality of the existing organizational structure of the company. In this study, we have presented how different cluster validation metrics will be helpful in assessing the quality of the organizational structure by reflecting the different aspects of the organizational structure. We have shown that our approach makes it possible to evaluate the effects of different re-organization scenarios on the internal communication patterns of employees in an organization. All these metrics can be used by the company to improve their existing organizational structure.

A comunicação digital e as transformações nas práticas culturais no contexto organizacional

Temp, Vivian Beatriz January 2008 (has links)
This master thesis addresses the inclusion of digital communication tools in organizations and how it affects their culture and communication habits. The focus is on how the adoption of Electronic Mail, Intranet and Discussion Lists may change the processes of organizational communication by creating new cultural conventions that enable employees to participate in the communicative process. A case study at Companhia de Processamento de Dados do Rio Grande do Sul (Procergs) were conducted to evaluate how these tools were adopted, how the staff assimilated them and what cultural conventions were created by their use. This case study collected various reports given by staff members who use these tools on the daily work routine. The interviews demonstrated that digital communication tools allow a better involvement of the employees in the communication process. However, the tools by themselves do not equalize the relationship between the organization and its employees, which remains as the connecting space to communicative interaction.

Email Mining Classifier : The empirical study on combining the topic modelling with Random Forest classification

Halmann, Marju January 2017 (has links)
Filtering out and replying automatically to emails are of interest to many but is hard due to the complexity of the language and to dependencies of background information that is not present in the email itself. This paper investigates whether Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) combined with Random Forest classifier can be used for the more general email classification task and how it compares to other existing email classifiers. The comparison is based on the literature study and on the empirical experimentation using two real-life datasets. Firstly, a literature study is performed to gain insight of the accuracy of other available email classifiers. Secondly, proposed model’s accuracy is explored with experimentation. The literature study shows that the accuracy of more general email classifiers differs greatly on different user sets. The proposed model accuracy is within the reported accuracy range, however in the lower part. It indicates that the proposed model performs poorly compared to other classifiers. On average, the classifier performance improves 15 percentage points with additional information. This indicates that Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) combined with Random Forest classifier is promising, however future studies are needed to explore the model and ways to further increase the accuracy.

Att kombinera det bästa från email och sociala nätverkssidor : Ett designförslag för att förenkla och stödja kommunikationen inom team och projekt

Jonsson, Frida January 2015 (has links)

An investigation of the English language needs of Business English graduates in mainland China

Liao, L. January 2015 (has links)
The Business English (BE) degree in China was established as an independent dis-cipline in 2007. Business English used to be taught as a component of English lan-guage and literature degrees. There are now about 50 universities in China offer-ing BE degrees, but the change in the status of Business English has not been with-out attendant problems. Most Chinese universities offering degrees in BE have failed to combine the teaching of English language and literature and the teaching of business in very meaningful ways, and have given English language learning a much larger share of the curriculum. Business English is taught in university Eng-lish departments rather than in Business Schools, and most BE teachers only have a background in English language and literature, with no practical work experience in the area of international business. These teachers have little knowledge of how English is used in the workplace, and might have difficulty contextualizing BE teaching in real business situations where English is used as a lingua franca (BELF). The fact that non-native speakers’ communications predominate in the BELF environment calls into question the emphasis on native-like correctness in university BE teaching. Language needs analysis (LNA) was conducted in order to discover the English language needs of BE graduates starting work in Chinese companies with an inter-national clientele. Data from questionnaires, interviews and business emails sent to and from recent graduates were analysed. The findings from questionnaires and interviews indicate that emailing is the most frequent mode of communication in English in the Chinese companies that employ BE graduates, although speaking skills are also highly prized. All groups of re-spondents (BE teachers, company employers and RGs) thought standardized na-tional English tests (e.g. TEM4, TEM8) were important for securing a job. It was found that most of the company employers and recent graduates believed that ad-hering to native-like norms was not important in a BELF environment where most of their clients were non-native English speakers who did not have a very high lev-el of English. The findings from analysis of my corpus of 86 business English email chains (307 messages, 34,837 words) suggest that MEMC graduates are communicatively adept at business email communication and can establish rapport with their cli-ents and mitigate potential face-threats, despite the fact that their English is some-times non-standard. Current teaching materials, methods and practices in BE teaching in China still place greatest emphaisis on conformity to a set of native-like norms, however, rather than pragmatic competence. These findings have interesting implications for ESP course content and the teach-ing of Business English as a lingua franca (BELF). BE lecturers might be unwilling to use authentic BELF emails as models in the classroom, because the writers have a restricted command of English. There were no signs of any miscommunication in the email exchanges, however, and specifically BELF usage may well have had a disarming effect on clients, helping to achieve the writers’ purposes more effec-tively than textbook English would have done.
