Cioran et l'écriture du fragment

Bolduc, Alexandra. January 1999 (has links)
In this thesis, we will try to approach Cioran's work using the fragmentary theory. The different types of fragments (anecdotes, maxims, aphorisms, bio-moments, short essays...) that constitute Cioran's work and that mark its variations, appear to result from sloughing (multiple passages and displacement), so that the one who "sloughes" is never the same but does not fundamentally change. / In this perspective, the writing of the fragment may not be a deficiency, a collapsing or a fetichism of the part, but rather a matter of instinct, of experimentation that (re)totalizes as it is been written...like a victory over time and death, like a moment of eternity, like a fragment-trophy.

Henry-Emile Chevalier et le feuilleton canadien-français (1853-1860)

Beauchamp, Claude January 1992 (has links)
Henry-Emile Chevalier was forced in exile by the December 1851 Coup d'Etat in France. In March 1853, he came to Montreal and joined Georges-Hippolythe Cherrier who had just started a new periodical called La Ruche Litteraire Illustree. In addition, during his stay in Montreal, Chevalier worked for several periodicals, was an active member of the Institut canadien de Montreal, and wrote many novels and serials depicting Canada's exoticism. This thesis will provide the most accurate biography of Chevalier up to date, it will also present an analysis of the exoticism in his novels and serials (1853-1960), and of his contribution to the evolution of serials in French Canada.

Freedom through rhythm: the eurhythmics of Emile Jacques-Dalcroze

Giddens, Micheal John January 1984 (has links) (PDF)
The system of music education devised by Emile Jacques-Dalcroze is based on an interrelated programme which includes solfege, rhythmic movement, plastique and improvisation. Although Dalcroze wrote numerous articles discussing his methods, he failed to provide a comprehensive account of his approach to the music-learning experience. Consequently this thesis aims, by a critical survey and analysis of Dalcroze’s writings, to provide an insight into the meanings and objectives of Dalcroze Eurhythmics. In addition, this investigation will seek to reveal that Dalcroze’s teaching received direction both from a multitude of influences and his extraordinary pre-occupation with rhythm. As a music teacher, Dalcroze had endeavoured to heighten the rhythmic sensitivity of his pupils by the use of kinesthetic exercises. As an humanitarian, Dalcroze’s research into rhythmic manifestations led him to propose rhythm as a dominating force effecting the future welfare of humankind. An understanding of this theory, despite its grandiose tone, is especially relevant to achieving a fuller comprehension of Dalcroze’s musical studies.
