Slamfärger och dess miljöpåverkan

Jakobsson, Erik January 2007 (has links)
The paint market of today is a jungle whit an enormous range of different paint types; there all has different properties and different compositions, some with big influence on the environment and some whit less influence on the environment. It could even be difficult for an expert to always know what should be used on which surface and what would be the best out of the environmental point of view. This work is not intended as a total review of all the manufactures range of colours; only as a deeper dissertation about distemper paint in general, in particular Falu Red Paint. Whit focuses on the environmental issues. The work is especially for those who are ready to paint but don’t know what paint they should chose and people that has a interest in paint and environment, perhaps it also could be of interest for professional painters even when there probably isn’t any big news for them. The information is compiled from the Internet and downloaded brochures from the Internet.

Ending America's Dependence on Foreign Oil: Risk Perceptions among Texans

Aldridge, Jessica R. 01 May 2009 (has links)
Reliance on foreign oil is a major problem facing the United States due to uncontrollable prices, dealing with hostile nations, and oil wars. Demographic variables, risk perception, community attachment, environmental knowledge, and environmental attitudes of Texans were examined to determine which factors influence attitudes toward the hard- and soft-energy path for ending the U.S. Reliance on foreign oil. The data for this study were collected through a mailed questionnaire which included 1,228 Texans in 12 counties over three ecological regions. The dependent measures, hard-energy path and soft-energy path, were regressed on the independent and control variables to determine which factors influenced energy-path preference. The results of the data analysis of Texans clearly demonstrated that environmental attitudes, and in the end, knowledge of energy solutions are the most powerful predictors of risk perception.

January 2010 (has links)
Ressalte-se que a realidade é dinâmica e contraditória e as transformações são rápidas, apesar de, em muitas ocasiões, não haver percepção de forma imediata / Abstract: The phenomenon of the disorderly urban sprawl of big cities has brought a series of problems that sacrifices the health and comfort of its inhabitants. That is why it becomes necessary to know the evolutionary human settlement in urban areas, so you can make an environmental planning and management, and thus provide a better comfort for its inhabitants without causing major impacts to the environment. This paper aims to analyze the socioeconomic and environmental realities in the spatial arrangement of the "occupational mosaic" of the northern part of Teresina, Piauí, where the neighborhoods of Matadouro, Matinha, Pirajá and Vila Operária are located. In order to try to catch a glimpse of the environmental and socioeconomic reality of the neighborhoods surveyed, the methodology of Kawakubo, Luchiari and Morato (2005) was used, applied to the reality of the study area regarding the measurement of urban environmental quality, from data provided by IBGE (2000), and it is based on the development of indexes of subjects (improvised homes, green areas, sewage, water supply and garbage collection) and the construction of a synthetic indicator, the Urban Environmental Quality Index. To see the contrast between the districts regarding the perceptions of residents on the urban structure of the region, we applied the Chi-square statistic test using the absolute frequencies of the answers from the questionnaires. We emphasize that the reality is dynamic and contradictory and the changes are fast, although in many occasions, there is no immediate perception / Doutor

January 2010 (has links)
In order to analyzed with this study, we conducted descriptive qualitative research using techniques such as data collection by way of analysis, interviews, questionnaires and field observation. To accomplish this task, we conducted studies in 20 schools featuring 78 students and 21 teachers, the education program for youth and adults of the expanded center of São Paulo. In the delineation of the profiles of the teachers, We considered a personal, professional and social choice for the teaching profession. The profile of the 78 students of EJA was drawn up based on the views of the student and the teacher regarding the importance of adult education in the consolidation of the students' expectations. We seek also to identify the concepts and practices of teachers concerning the EA in the context of adult education. To consolidate the research featured, the study looked at twenty-three schools located in the central region of the expanded city of Sao Paulo, where these teachers work. It concentrated on the following aspects: location, point of reference, and the accessibility of concentrated on the following aspects: location, point of reference, and the accessibility of the ground zero of the Sao Paulo city, the "Sé Cathedral". We believe that an articulation of EA in the EJA is important for the formation process of critical, questioning and participating in the current reality, however, observed in adult education, opportunities to theorize and debate because the teachers working at the education context, apparently had no training that prepared them for this. Thus we find, therefore, that teachers need more information, on the subject, which ... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre

Ecofeminist perspectives on women and the environment. : Elin Wägner's Alarm Clock and Charlotte Perkins Gilman Herland analysed from an ecofeminist perspective.

Karlsson, Micael January 2018 (has links)
In this thesis the Swedish author Elin Wägner’s debate book Alarm clock and the American author Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s novel Herland are analysed and compared from an ecofeminist perspective. Since the use of an ecofeminist perspective can be perceived as anachronistic as the term ecofeminism was drafted far later than the literary works in question I have chosen to distinguish between empirical and analytical concepts to approach their texts. In order to interpret their texts in their intellectual and historical contexts, concepts such as ecofeminism, matriarchy, utopia, vision and science have been of significance. This as the authors’ theoretical approaches in matriarchal theories, utopic perception, vision and science shaped their literary point of departure. The sociologist Lester Frank Ward’s theories on social planning had a huge impact on Gilman’s ideas as had the influence of the Darwinian movement focusing on evolution and eugenic, theories that at the time around the turn of the 19th century influenced social science, history and psychology. Elin Wägner found her inspiration in works by Johan Jakob Bachofen, Rosa Mayreder and Mathilde Vaerting, anchored in the Central European literacy discourse of her time; ideas significant for her civilization-critical thinking focusing on the relationship between women’s subordination and the environment, where the ruling of the earth is understood by the same logic that drives men’s dominion over women. Wägner and Gilman follows a line in the eco-feminist theorem, based on the statement that women are more responsive than men to nature and environmental issues, a biological determinism, conceptual essentialism and universalism, based on women’s different experiences in a gender society.

Fontana, Cleder January 2014 (has links)
This research discusses the relation between the problem of hunger and the environmental issues. It aims to create a tension in the relations between the social and the natural dimensions in Josué de Castro‟s work as an amalgam in order to think about the problem of hunger related to the environmental issues, which reveals a growing environmental concern in the author's work. It also seeks to highlight the author‟s studies on hungry, showing what hunger and environmental issues have in common and thinking about human emancipation from both problems. The work consists on a study on Josué Castro‟s intellectual production using literature research and the possible interpretations and analyses of his written production with the goal of building a qualitative understanding on social phenomena. The study of Josué de Castro‟s work seeks to bring out the connection between society and nature, marked by the way that life is produced. Thus, it is possible to design the social emancipation of the limitations and – or impossibilities imposed to the potential of nature of which man is part. Therefore, the problems of the destruction of nature and hunger become inseparable which reveals in summary the environmental issue.

The global demand for fisheries has increased every year, serving to encourage aquaculture activity with great potential of raising production, since it is the previously planned cultivation of aquatic organisms. In Brazil, aquaculture modality that is booming is fish farming in cages, and the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is the main cultivated species. In the Southeast of the country, especially in São Paulo, the expansion of tilapia culture is taking place mainly through the use of cages in the large reservoirs of hydroelectric power plants (HPP). Among the state's reservoirs, it is the HPP Canoas I which is located on the Paranapanema River and covers the municipalities of Cândido Mota - SP and Itambaracá - PR. Since both municipalities have significant data regarding fish farming in general and in fishnet tanks, this region was defined as the study focus of this research, for which it was proposed as a general objective to analyze the competitiveness of the agents involved in the production of tilapia in cages in the hydroelectric reservoir of the Hydroelectric Plant of Canoas I and their inclusion in social networks. In addition, one of the specific objectives would be to analyze the relationship between the level of integration into social network and level of competitiveness. In order to meet the research objectives, the work included literature on two theoretical aspects involved (Social Networks and Competitiveness) and field research, where fish farmers inserted in the HPP Canoas I reservoir were identified, contacted and interviewed, answering characterization questions of relative order and on competitiveness. The analysis of social network has been made from the treatment of the answers to relational issues and their submission to UCINET® software. The results showed that the most prominent fish farmers on the network are in Paraná bank of the reservoir and work for a long time with the production of tilapia in cages. The competitiveness analysis, in turn, was held from seven drivers: technology and innovation, input and infrastructure, market structure, internal management, institutional environment, market relations and environmental issues. In general, the greatest impasses found to increase the level of competitiveness are linked to the institutional environment and the discrepancy about the importance of environmental issues among the fish farmers of Sao Paulo and Parana. The individual competitiveness of calculations for each fish farmer showed that four fish farmers with higher levels of competitiveness are in Paraná bank of HPP reservoir Canoas I and are experienced in fish activity. Three of these fish farmers are the same three that had greater inclusion in social network. Nevertheless, the relationship between the level of integration in social network and level of competitiveness could not be completely proven, since the same was not observed for other fish farmers. / FAPESP: 2014/16075-2
