La triple identidad del personaje Sayonara en La novia oscura de Laura Restrepo

En el presente trabajo hacemos un análisis de la novela La novia oscura de la escritora colombiana Laura Restrepo. El objetivo de este trabajo es investigar la triple identidad de la protagonista Sayonara. Ella representa tres personajes; La Niña, Sayonara y Amanda y juntas foman una triple identidad. La trama se desarolla en la epoca de los años cuarenta, allí trabajaba Sayonara como prostituta. A través del estudio del texto nos aproxiamaremos a la transición de Sayonara de una identidad a otra. Analizamos La novia oscura desde la perspectiva poscolonial y feminista. Aplicamos las teorías de Mary Louise Pratt, sobre  la perspectiva euro-centrista que presenta en su libro Imperial Eyes:Travel writing and transculturation. Nos referimos también a Raewyn Connell, una investigadora australiense, que ha investigado las relaciones del género y las estructuras patriarcales en la sociedad.

This diploma thesis is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with economic background of the european integration. It´s main part is focused on the single market and mainly on the economic and monetary union. Attention is paid to the Maastricht convergence criteria, stage of real convergence and to the entry criteria adopted in Copenhagen. The practical part deals with the readiness of the Czech republic to adopt the single currency. It analyses both economic, political, and legal convergence of the Czech republic to the Euro Zone. The Czech republic has in recent years fulfilled the Maastricht critera, the addoption of euro is however hindered by insufficient legal convergence. The addoption of euro starts with a political decision, to what hasn´t been yet found sufficient consensus.

Study aims to evaluate the development of the Czech Republic in case of entry into the European Monetary Union. Due to the similarity of the Czech economy with neighboring Slovakia, it is the assessment carried out by means of economic development was the Slovak Republic after joining the European Monetary Union. They are evaluated by selected convergence criteria and the further development of some macroeconomic indicators of the country, which is subsequently compares with the development of the Czech Republic in the same period. The same glasses are compared and selected the Baltic states, which joined the European monetary union last. Subsequently, using deductive methods outlined the economic development of the Czech Republic for entry into the European Monetary Union. The last chapter is devoted to the criterion of exchange rate stability, it is pointed out to the strategy states, which have already become members of the European Monetary Union, and passed without major cost exchange-rate mechanism EMR II. In this chapter, the simulated process Czech Republic's entry into ERM II and learned from him the results.

This paper is made on behalf of Statistics and Research Åland, ÅSUB. The aim is to explain the turnover for companies in Åland, with appropriate variables. The main study variables are variables that consist of the Swedish and Finnish activity indices. The study variables also include variables which consist of tourists from Sweden and Finland and the introduction of the Euro in Finland. The data used is from the period January 1996 to June 2008. Different regression models for the turnover are tried and explanatory variables are selected by use of stepwise regression, backward elemination and forward selection.   The final model includes activity indices for Sweden and Finland, the introduction of the Euro, tourists from Finland and an autoregressive component of order one . The Swedish activity index are time lagged by one and three months and therefore consists of two variables, while the Finnish activity index is not lagged.

Monetary policy of NBS and convergence to EMU

Diploma thesis is entitled Monetary policy of NBS and convergence to EMU. Introductory theoretical section describes the development of monetary unions in the past and the causes of their extinction. Subsequently, it is devoted to the foundation of the European Monetary Union in various stages, of its crisis and transition to the ERM II exchange rate system. It characterizes the nominal Maastricht criteria in theory. Following chapters constitute the practical part of the thesis. Chapters 2-4 discuss the monetary policy of the NBS and its roles and objectives. They outline monetary policy of NBS in the individual periods followed by an evaluation of measures and compliance with the main objectives, such as exchange rate stability, inflation targeting and inflation targeting in ERM II. The last chapter discusses the costs and benefits of euro, their comparison and evaluation of the appropriateness of the timing of entry into EMU. Real convergence is emphasised and represented by GDP per capita, the adjustment of price levels, employment and foreign trade. Nominal convergence is represented by Maastricht convergence criteria and their implementation. The development of various criteria is compared with the countries of V4 -- Czech republic, Poland and Hungary. Finally it summarises the overall functioning of the National Bank in the field of monetary policy, the appreciation of the euro advantages and appropriateness of the timing.

Practical part is concerned in pre-crisis macro economical development in countries that suffer the most, Greece and Ireland and represent 2 main models how to run into a difficulties and forced to use support of international institutions as ECB and IMF. Scope of diploma thesis is to analyze macroeconomic development, current situation and discuss possible scenarios to solve existing situation and their impact on future of ECB.

The thesis deals with economical changes in the Slovak Republic since the breakup of the Iron Curtain to the adoption of the common European currency in 2009. There are discussed social and economic reforms, which significantly contributed to meet the nominal convergence criteria. In the practical part are monitored various macroeconomic indicators, which are helpful to find the right way of Slovakia. Slovakia has a better economic situation after euro adoption. The thesis also watching the situation in the Czech Republic and evaluating whether the Czech Republic should adopt the euro or not.
