Análise da Escolha Profissional: diálogos necessários e caminhos possíveis / Analysis of Career Choice: dialogue needed and possible pathsVanessa da Cunha Magnan 13 March 2011 (has links)
The central objective of this study is to present, in psychology field based on phenomenology and in philosophy of existence, a clinical practice when there is indecision concerning the choice of what professional activity will be held. In order to set the place where we take our fundamentals, we start this work by presenting the different perspectives in vocational counseling. In order to do so, we use as an identification criterion of each of these modalities the emphasis in which each of them supports their fundamentals and consequent ly the practices, namely: psyche, the social and the existence, and in the latter we set the emphasis for our proposition. So as to prepare the bases o f this proposition, we seek in Martin Heideggers hermeneutical phenomenology the conditions of possibility for another modality of performance in terms of professional certainty. And, by discoursing with literature we show the feasibility of such practice. In Cartas a um jovem poeta (Letters to a young poet), by Rainer Maria Rilke, and A repetição (Repetition), by Sören Kierkegaard, we present how these two writers point to the criticism at a counseling which guides the choice, so as to exemplify how we can follow the choice of the other person without proceeding a directive orientation. At last, by taking the philosophic fundamentals of Martin Heidegger and wit h the indications of the poets Rilke and Kierkegaard, we will present a way for clinical performance when there is indecision in terms of professio nal choice, which we call Professio nal Analysis of Choice.

Enquanto instrumento, a entrevista
This study arises from the authors concerns lived within the experience of psychological practice with groups of parents and children in collaborative psychodiagnostic, in a
phenomenological existential perspective. It aims to understand the experience of parents in a group with that modality of psychological practice. Its phenomenal basis is grounded in four reports of parents who have experienced group care in the process of Collaborative Psychodiagnostic carried out in Pernambucos Catholic University clinic-school between 2010 and 2012. To access such experience, subjects-collaborators were submitted to a narrative interview. As an instrument, the narrative interview is based on the narrator idea by Walter Benjamim (1994) which, articulating narrative and experience, allows the narrator
(participant) to elaborate and pass on experiences regarding the investigated theme. Another instrument was a logbook (a field journal), which is constituted by written narratives of
feeling and impressions lived by the researcher in listening to its clients. Analysis was centered in Gadamers hermeneutic philosophy, considered to be one the privileged epistemologies in qualitative research. The dialog, the conversations among psychologist and clients and also among clients, who were open to put themselves in such a comprehensive dynamic, allowed the complaint to be broaden, which led to the demands elicitation and appropriation by merging collaborators horizons. At first, the parents group situation in collaborative psychodiagnostic enabled the appropriation and expression of affective dispositions of fear and resistance face to an unknown condition. Living a group experience has affected each participant leading them to another way of being in and feeling the group situation, which was then perceived as welcoming and facilitator for the expression of sufferings and feelings. Such motion provided participants to understand manifested complaint, enabling their feelings to be appropriated with the thematization of other comprehensive possibilities, allied to the movement of openness towards the other, at the same time that allowed the decentralization in each ones problems, previously considered as unique. At last, the narrative of experiences is highlighted as a facilitator for the appropriation of the way in which participants took care of themselves and of others in this case, their families. It was noticed that the appropriation of an affective and singular experience could put in motion other ways of being and relating with the world and with others, ways of their own, less orientated by the public.

Michael's story : love and vulnerability in a close relationshipCorry, Wendy-Anne 11 1900 (has links)
Being in love in a close relationship is contingent upon biological, intrapsychic, social and cultural
events. Understanding these processes has implications for stability and health in individuals
families and society. Various dimensions of love are considered as converging on a more basic
concept of vulnerability as a part of the human condition where both love and vulnerability are
experiences which shape individual development growth, interdependence and survival or the lack
thereof. The objective of this study is to capture the dilemmas which underlie love and
vulnerability in a qualitative study. The method is a case study of a story using narrative analysis
and the relation of theory to experiences revealed in the story. Analysis included observation of
the major premises, setting, structure, images and voices in the story and theories included Lee's
(1977) theory of love, Sternberg's (1986) triangular theory of love, attachment theory, social
construction, psychobiological theory and phenomenologal theories of love. A summary finds that
most theories infer vulnerability as an underlying dimension in processes of love and that
vulnerability as a characteristic in human mortality may be implicated in love experiences. / Psychology / M.A. (Psychology)

Descriptions of difference between painful loneliness and confortable alonenessLake, Tracy Melanie 11 1900 (has links)
This study investigated the differences between descriptions of the lived experiences of painful loneliness
and comfortable aloneness. Loneliness, is documented as a modern-day social problem, associated with
psychic pain and suffering and myriad mental and physical health problems. Uncomplicated, comfortable
or neutral aloneness, is scarce in the literature, with allusions to the possibility that people may never feel
lonely. The 'essences' of the experience ofpainfol loneliness have been gathered from the literature, while
the 'essences' of the experience of comfortable aloneness have been gathered interviews with five people
who are comfortable or ambivalent about their aloneness. The qualitative methods of heuristic and
phenomenological research have been used to interpret and make sense of the raw data generated. It was
found that the subjective experiences of aloneness and loneliness are fundamentally different, and that the
thoughts, meanings and realities associated with either state are similarly disparate. / Psychology / M.A. (Clinical Psychology)

Analysis of a structure integrating the beliefs in the end of the worldJugel, Milena 01 July 2013 (has links)
Historical research show that beliefs in the end of the world (BEW) are very ancient and that they are culturally guided through the risks that are perceived by social groups (Boia, 1999). Thus, this thesis makes the hypothesis that there is a beliefs structure which integrates BEW, and that this structure could evolve with human fears. The first part of the present study suggests that there is a beliefs system that integrates BEW. 881 participants answered to a questionnaire, and results have shown three main BEW: ecological end of the world (human responsibility), scientific end of the world (totality and temporal distance), and religious end of the world (religious causality and possibility of a better world). Each of these beliefs is linked with specific ways of justifying the present world: Beliefs in a Just World (particularly Ultimate Justice and Immanent Justice, Maes, 1998), System Justification (Kay & Jost, 2003), Religion and Spirituality. In the second part of this study, we used the Experimental Existential Psychology to make this beliefs system unbalanced (Greenberg, Koole & Pyszczynski, 2004). According to this theory, individual faced to an “existential threat” (i.e. Death and Uncertainty) needs to cling on to reassuring beliefs. Thus, we made the hypothesis that these existential threats would have an effect on the beliefs system analyzed previously. Results have partially confirmed this hypothesis (on 245 participants) and brought new information about the importance of measuring emotional state. To summarize, this thesis shows the existence of a beliefs system, how it works, and how existential threats and emotional state can unbalance this beliefs system.

Previous issue date: 2008-02-15 / It s possible to identify important phenomena to be approached regarding the Feeling of Inadequacy (FI), characterized for the feeling of being unequal or different from other people or diverse situations. For this, the present work keeps its attention directed toward the relation between subject and sociocultural context, with the objective of understanding the phenomenon of feeling inadequate and how one configures one s self according to the possible psychological consequences of the situation. The research was qualitative in nature and developed itself based on the phenomenological method style of Merleau-Ponty. The work initiated of theoretical form, through the analysis of popular literature, diagnostic manuals and indexed scientific bibliography. The second stage started from the descriptive-speculative analysis of opened and participative interviews with three adults. Each one described in their own way the presence of the FI in their lives. Notwithstanding the details of the phenomenon, three basic psychological responses have been identified: 1) the Levelling of Subjectivity (LS), characterized by self-questioning, isolation, solitude and, mainly, by the attempt to modify one s self in regards towards the sociocultural context; 2) the Levelling of the Objectivity (LO), in which are identified higher levels of aggressiveness, questioning of the sociocultural context and the possible attempt to modify it, which difficults, on the other hand, contact with subjective aspects; 3) the Sense of Inadequacy (SsI), position in which the subject assimilates the FI of reflexive and creative form, evidencing the importance of the playful character of the existence. The study revealed a possibility of transit between LS and LO, inverting the focus of the leveling, but not necessarily indicating any development of significant insights on the subject s part.
