Analýza vlivu mechanických vlastností komponent patologické stěny tepny na její napjatost / Analysis of impact of mechanical properties of components of pathological arterial wall on its state of stress

Bartoňová, Petra January 2020 (has links)
The thesis deals with measurements of the atherosclerothic carotid plaques mechanical properties with wiew towards the improvements of their constitutive models and then towards the impact of application of those constitutive models in fibrous cap. The introductory part provides a brief summary of medical knowledge needed to understand atheroma formation and the risks involved. Next, there's a survey of plaque mechanical testing methods and the obtained results on tissue properties. The previously used constitutive models of atherosclerothic tissues are listed as well. Main body of the thesis describes the preparation of testing samples from obtained atheroma, methodology and course of experiments execution and subsequent processing of the experimental data to evaluate the behavior of the atheromatous tissue individual parts. Then the discussion and evaluation of our results and findings is given. Along with the evaluated mechanical properties, experimental data fitted to models are presented with respect to their predictive abilities. The final part is dedvoted to the finite element analysis of an idealized 2D model with emphasis on the effect of necrotic core and fibrous tissue properties on von Mises equivalent stress in the fibrous cap.

Analýza vlivu přesahu na pevnost svarového spoje součásti z kompozitu / Analysis of the influence of pressing force on the weld joint strength of the composite component

Litera, Jan January 2020 (has links)
Nowadays, components made of metallic materials are increasingly being replaced by components made of plastics or composites with a polymer matrix. This is associated with the issue of production processes such as pressing or welding, i.e. the influence of process parameters on the output properties of the product. The presented thesis deals with the issue of the combination of pressing and welding of a composite part, specifically the influence of the pressing overlap on the strength and tightness of the welded joint. The first part is focused on a search of available literature related to the problem. The second part deals with solving the problem using experimental modeling. Part of this chapter is inclusion of computational modeling in the design of experiment, detailed measurement of essential dimensions, microtome analysis and statistical processing and evaluation. The third part focuses on the creation of a method for evaluating the strength of the weld based on the pressing overlap using computational modeling. Essential part is also validation of the computational model based on previous experimental measurements. Finally, two methods for evaluation of the weld strength are presented. The first works on the basis of computational modeling and the second on the basis of experimental modeling. At the same time, the presumptions of usage of the created methods and their drawbacks are pointed out. Furthermore, the possibilities of their implementation in the initial design of the welded joint and the proposal for the next procedure are described.

Návrh příďového podvozku pro letouny řady Zlín 40 / Design of the nose landing gear for Zlin 40 aircraft

Bednář, Peter January 2021 (has links)
This master’ thesis deals with the design of the front landing gear for Zlín 40 aircrafts. The main emphasis in the research part of the work is placed on the selection of a new nose landing gear and the subsequent design of the structure. For the structural design was prepared a new mass analysis and load cases. The load-bearing capacity of the structure is verified using analytical and numerical methods of FEM. An important step of the work is the design concept of structure. The aim of the work is to point out the new possibilities of the nose landing gear structure and verify its feasibility for the case of future implementation.

Optimization of Algorithms Using Extensions of Dynamic Programming

AbouEisha, Hassan M. 09 April 2017 (has links)
We study and answer questions related to the complexity of various important problems such as: multi-frontal solvers of hp-adaptive finite element method, sorting and majority. We advocate the use of dynamic programming as a viable tool to study optimal algorithms for these problems. The main approach used to attack these problems is modeling classes of algorithms that may solve this problem using a discrete model of computation then defining cost functions on this discrete structure that reflect different complexity measures of the represented algorithms. As a last step, dynamic programming algorithms are designed and used to optimize those models (algorithms) and to obtain exact results on the complexity of the studied problems. The first part of the thesis presents a novel model of computation (element partition tree) that represents a class of algorithms for multi-frontal solvers along with cost functions reflecting various complexity measures such as: time and space. It then introduces dynamic programming algorithms for multi-stage and bi-criteria optimization of element partition trees. In addition, it presents results based on optimal element partition trees for famous benchmark meshes such as: meshes with point and edge singularities. New improved heuristics for those benchmark meshes were ob- tained based on insights of the optimal results found by our algorithms. The second part of the thesis starts by introducing a general problem where different problems can be reduced to and show how to use a decision table to model such problem. We describe how decision trees and decision tests for this table correspond to adaptive and non-adaptive algorithms for the original problem. We present exact bounds on the average time complexity of adaptive algorithms for the eight elements sorting problem. Then bounds on adaptive and non-adaptive algorithms for a variant of the majority problem are introduced. Adaptive algorithms are modeled as decision trees whose depth reflects the worst-case time complexity and average depth indicates the average-case time complexity. Non-adaptive algorithms are represented as decision tests whose size expresses the worst-case time complexity. Finally, we present a dynamic programming algorithm that finds a minimum decision test (minimum reduct) for a given decision table.

Úprava asynchronního motoru pro synchronní chod / Induction motor modification for synchronous operation

Pochyla, Martin January 2009 (has links)
This paper is focused on customization of induction machine type STM71-4L. The need of optimal mechanical design is presented, to achieve sufficient synchronizing reluctant torque, which will result in rotor synchronization with stator magnetic field. Final mechanical design is suggested after research, which considers influence of the essential rotor dimensions on resulting electromechanical torque. This is provided with usage of finite element method calculation. As a result of the thesis the combination of two basic machines – induction machine and synchronous motor is presented. The measurement on induction motor, and it´s modified versions is presented in following chapters. In the last chapter the results of optimization and measurement are discussed and compared.

Využití prostředí ANSYS Workbench pro teplotní výpočty elektrických strojů / Utilization of adaptive CAD systems at virtual model creation of electrical motors

Sedláčková, Petra January 2010 (has links)
Thermal analysis of electric machine is one of the key steps in design procedure. Traditionally, thermal calculations are done by analytical method, mostly based on equivalent electrical circuit, where thermal quantities are replaced by equivalent electrical quantities. These methods employ so-called electro thermal analogy. Different approach is to use Finite Element Method, which is the main goal of this thesis. First part of the thesis is devoted to description of CAD system Autodesk Inventor, which is modern parametric CAD for modelling of virtual prototypes. This system is then used for creation of three dimensional model of brushless DC machine. Second part is focused on thermal calculations in Ansys Workbench environment. Model of brushless DC machine created in Inventor is transferred into Ansys Workbench and thermal analysis is carried out.
