No. of bitstreams: 1 Kelly Ludkiewicz Alves.pdf: 1182888 bytes, checksum: 630670414b5ccac14117066bbe89e481 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-03-26 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This research aims to investigate the relationship between the performance of students in the discipline of History and their social family background, by using the concept of cultural capital as theoretical reference, that intend to explain the inequity of school performance of children from distinct social classes relating school success to the sharing of the cultural capital between social classes. To do so, the starting point is the idea that the school plays a decisive role in the reproduction of the dominant cultural capital and its deficiency may directly interfere with the performance in specific areas of the curriculum such as History discipline. Data collection has taken place in two stages. The first was the application of a questionnaire to 47 graduated students of the Elementary School II at E. E. Prof. Caetano de Campos, in São Paulo, and aimed to map family habits that allow identifying the cultural capital of the agents investigated. From the data collected on the instrument and based on students performance on History discipline detected through the grades obtained by them in the discipline four families were selected to a semi-structured interview at the second stage of the study. Working with the concept of family configurations, the study aimed to ascertain the mode of transmission of this family cultural capital, considering whether it can be transmitted by parents to children, despite its objective presence, so it reverts into school practices. The data that were collected in the questionnaire and interviews point out the existence of a relationship between access to cultural assets - cultural capital - and the cultural practices closer to schooling and the performance of students in History. Among students who have better grades in History it was observed the existence of family strategies, cultural practices, more access to cultural assets and more proximity to the written text / Este trabalho tem como objetivo averiguar a relação entre o desempenho dos alunos na disciplina de História e sua origem social familiar.

Exil ve věku (ne)zletilosti / Exil on the brink of maturity

Vašíčková, Barbora January 2021 (has links)
The intended work examines how the relationship between the unaccompanied migrants and the hosts is formed within foster care. Foster care could be defined as "long-term and repetitive contacts," where specific forms of relationship are negotiated between individual actors. I ask what activities and practices the actors make significant concerning the arrival, what ideas and imaginations on the part of the actors enter into the relationship, and how emotional rules are negotiated in a relationship. Last but not least, the work examines how the individual actors relate to the category of unaccompanied minors, that is, how this category, which has its legal definition, is negotiated. Key words: unaccompanied minors, foster care, family practices, emotional work, reflexivity

Religious and Secular Correlates of the LDS Family Home Evening Program

Mauss, Gordon E. 01 August 1969 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of this study was to describe and explore three phenomenon of the L.D.S. Family Home Evening Program: (1) the nature of religious commitment in an L.D.S. sample, (2) the degree of participation, (3) the relation of certain religious and secular variables. The data for the study were made available to the researcher by A. L. Mauss, as part of a larger study designed to measure the impact of Urbanism upon Mormonism. The instrument, modeled after the Glock and Stark studies, was adapted to a random sample of 958 members of the L.D.S. Church in Utah. The nature of religious commitment was found to be multi-dimensional. Normative participation in the program was low when compared with similar Church programs. None of the variables showed a high correlation with participation. It was concluded that the Church has not yet succeeded in designing the Program to meet the needs of most Church members, and that some weightier factors must account for participation and/or non-participation in the Program than those tested.

Being Together through ICTs : Transnational Family Practices in the Context of Ukrainian Forced Migration / Estar juntos a través de las TIC : Prácticas familiares transnacionales en el contexto de la migración forzada ucraniana

SANCHEZ GIL, LARA January 2023 (has links)
According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR, 2023), some 117.2 million people will be forcibly displaced or stateless by 2023. In this scenario, a large number of families will have to be reconfigured within a transnational setting. The ways in which they maintain their familiar ties and their feeling of being close despite the distance is worth further research. Since the Russian full-scale invasion, several countries in the European Union provided temporary protection for the first time to those arriving, who were mainly females with some of their relatives. The demographic reality of this displacement and the novelty of temporary protection open up a fruitful context to address family maintenance. This thesis explores how Ukrainian females who sought temporary protection in Burgos (Spain) have experienced the ties to their families across distance, delving in their meanings of being together, their practices of co-presence and the role of ICTs in them.
