Fundamentální a technická analýza vybraného aktiva / Fundamental and technical analysis of a particular asset

Nepomnyashchiy, Ilya January 2015 (has links)
The goal of the thesis is to evaluate the degree of efficiency of the particular markets and to apply the methods of fundamental and technical analysis on them in order to assess their efficiency in terms of profitablity. The thesis analyses the degree of long-term memory of the particular commodities and stock indices via Hurst coefficient. Afterwards fundamental and technical methods are applied to the market with the highest degree of long-term memory, which is the feeder cattle market. Indidivual methods from both disciplines are being applied at first, after wich a combnation of both is appleid as well. The result is the discovery, whether combining the two approaches leads to a higher profitability of the trading strategy. At the end the effect of transacton costs is also evalauted and a final conclusion is made regarding the profit potential of both methods for the case of individual Czech investor.

An Examination of Oral Fed Post-Trauma Patients for Calorie and Protein Consumption as a Percentage of Estimated Needs, and How it Impacts Length of Hospital Stay and Wound Healing

Marchio, Jamie 01 January 2011 (has links)
Due to rising costs of healthcare, clinicians are responsible for decreasing costs by providing care that moves the patient from injury, to recovery, to discharge within a matter of just a few days. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the nutrition assessment and nutrition diagnosis, nutrition prescription and plan, and for monitoring the patient to achieve nutritional repletion within this short time frame. Concerns for patients who require nursing staff and caregivers for feeding are evident, especially when increased demands are being placed on the nursing staff. This study aims to determine whether or not “feeder patients” are at a higher risk for malnutrition, which could potentially result in delayed discharge, poor rate of wound healing, and increased costs to the institution.

Feeders parallelism through vis-a-vis disconnecting switches in aerial primary distribution network.

Marcos Rosa dos Santos 15 May 2008 (has links)
An important aspect related to the distribution systems operation concerns the safety required in the post-disturbances restorement actions or in the emergency and scheduled maneuvers, which involve the need for load transfer between primary overhead feeders of a same sub-station or for an adjacent sub-station, in a safe and reliable way, complying with the loading requirements, voltage at systemic level and protection, among others. Currently the decisions and taking actions related to the necessary maneuvers to carry out the load transfers are responsibility of the operators who work in the operations control rooms, and in many cases, only endorsed by each operator´s own experience, gathered along the time. This paper aims at the study of the involved physical phenomena in situations that place distribution primary overhead feeders in parallel or even when a configuration in closed ring is formed, via distinct transformers and feeders of same or different powers, establishing guidelines and endorsing the control rooms operators in emergency, urgency or scheduled situations in the distribution overhead system. The main objective is to provide technical information, enabling more adequate taking decisions in the distribution overhead system maneuvers coordination, in real time. Each of them has conditions that can be considered the most adequate to carry out the established procedures, however without the main technical information. Thus, some variables such as minimum voltage, equipment loading limits, transformers´ phase angle, the operational restrictions of the system and customers must be applied in real time for the taking decision by the electrical system operators.

Mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) have been widely used as a feeder layer to support embryonic stem cells due to their release of growth factors. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from different sources were also found to release bioactive factors that can support cell growth. This study aims to investigate the effect of co-culture of MSC from rat bone marrow or MEF as a feeder source for in vitro production of bovine embryos. Cumulus oophorus complexes were matured into three groups: control (CTRL), co-culture with monolayer of mesenchymal cells of rats (MSC) or co-cultured with monolayer of embryonic fibroblasts of mice (MEF). Fertilization was performed in control condition for all groups, and in vitro fertilized embryos were cultured from fourth day on in CTRL, co-culture with MSC or co-cultured with MEF, so that the following groups were performed: (CTRL / CTRL) - maturation and embryo development in CTRL conditions; (CTRL / MSC) - maturation in CTRL and embryo development with MSC from the fourth day on after the beginning of the in vitro embryo culture; (CTRL / MEF) - maturation CTRL and embryo development with MEF from the fourth day on after the beginning of the in vitro embryo culture; (MSC / CTRL) - MSC during maturation and embryo development in CTRL; (MSC / MSC) - maturation and embryo development in MSC from the fourth day on after the beginning of the in vitro embryo culture; (MEF / CTRL) - maturation and embryo development in MEF and CTRL (MEF / MEF) - maturation and embryo development in MEF from the fourth day on after the beginning of embryo development in vitro. No significant difference was found among the oocytes matured in CTRL, MSC and MEF conditions for metaphase II and apoptosis rates and for cleavage rate in embryos at 4th day after the beginning of the in vitro culture. The number of cells in the inner cell mass, trophoblast cells, apoptotic cells and total cells were similar (P> 0.05) in the embryos from all experimental groups. The rates of blastocyst formation, expanded, hatched and the total of blastocysts did not differ among experimental groups (P> 0.05) at 7th day of embryo development. At eighth day of embryo culture we observed a difference (P <0.05) in hatched blastocyst rate which was higher in the CTRL /CTRL group when compared to MSC/MSC group, however, the proportion of blastocyst, expanded and total blastocysts was not different (P> 0.05). We conclude that there was no significant improvement in bovine embryo development using co-cultures of MSC from rats or MEF when compared to control culture system. However more studies investigating the use of stem cells from other sources or their conditioned medium are needed to better understand the effect of these cells on embryonic development.

Efficient, reliable, and qualitative sheet metal processing requires both positional and angular alignment of the raw metal sheets prior to the manufacturing process. This paper investigates different vibration-based alignment concepts using a multi-body system simulation. The simulation model is then used to characterize and compare, with respect to the motion and alignment properties as well as the required driving force, the diverse vibration-based alignment concepts.

The Importance of Natural Feeding Behaviour for Horse (Equus caballus) Welfare

Brolin, Sandra January 2022 (has links)
Horses are herbivores and can graze for up to 20 hours per day. It is well known that animals are motivated to perform natural behaviours and horses have, except from a physiological need to graze, a strong motivation to perform their natural feeding behaviour. This review aimed to give insight into how horses are kept, how the way they are kept affects their behaviour and welfare, if there are reasons why some horses cannot be kept on pasture, and if alternative feeding strategies can improve horse welfare by allowing horsesto perform their natural feeding behaviour. Most horses are kept in stables and are put on feeding regimes that do not resemble their natural feeding behaviour. This can lead to development of stereotypies, and when prevented from carrying out their feeding behaviour, oral stereotypies such as crib-biting can result. Horses kept free range display very few, if any, stereotypies and is therefore the best way to keep horses from a welfare approach. However, obesity and grass-related illnesses can restrict horses from being kept on pasture, thus, alternative feeding methods for stabled horses is imperative. Use of edible bedding, presenting several types of forage, providing ad libitumforage, or using slow feeders are alternative methods that could be implemented by horseowners and caretakers to improve horse welfare. Horses can however respond differently to these methods and a method that suits one horse might not be appropriate for another.

Automatický anténní tuner / Automatic Antenna Tuner

Šváb, Jaroslav Unknown Date (has links)
This degree work deals with the design and implementation of an automatic antenna tuner for short-wave transmitters. The device works within the short-wave range in (1.5 MHz - 30 MHz) band according to the selection of the given frequency. Its principle is that the tuner has a small range of adapted impedances, but it is usually sufficient for fine tuning of most deviations in the system of antenna 50 - feeder 50 - transceiver outlet 50 . It is also equipped with memories which the settings for the individual bands or frequency segments are stored into. Then the transition from one band to another is quick, easy and, first of all, safe, which is a great advantage. In automatic mode, a SWR limit from which the tuner should start to tune can be set. Interconnection with a TRX is not necessary in a fully automatic mode, the device tunes automatically after keying if the set limit of SWR has been exceeded. The automatic tuning is very quick with this device, if the antenna being tuned is not stored in the memory the tuning lasts ca 0.5 - 6 s, if the tuner uses the memory. It could be said that the work with the tuner is without problems, it is possible to learn to control it in a short time. The tuner is small and light. The result of the whole project is a compact device controlled by the user by means of push buttons.

VALUE OF SYSTEMATIC THORACIC ULTRASONOGRAPHY INFORMATION FOR DETECTING BOVINE RESPIRATORY DISEASE (BRD) RELATED LUNG DAMAGE IN CROSSBRED DAIRY CALVES

Evan Bryant Long (10715370) 28 April 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of systematic thoracic ultrasonography (TUS) for detecting bovine respiratory disease (BRD) related lung damage in Holstein x Angus crossbred calves. Because the dairy industry is known to operate on small profit margins, it is important to assess the potential of this technology to help prevent the main source of financial loss related to calf production that dairy producers face. Studies have shown that BRD may impact nearly a fourth of all dairy calves before weaning. In an industry that is currently growing and evolving, it is important that producers have all the necessary resources to operate efficiently. TUS is known to be a quick and accurate predictor of BRD related lung damage, but this study focuses on the financial implications of BRD related lung damage on calf growth and efficiency—average daily gain (ADG) and milk-to-gain (M:G)—and the value of implementing TUS information to make sound management decisions. TUS along with BRD diagnosis information give producers a unique perspective on future growth and development of calves and could be part of the solution to promote larger profit margins for dairy producers. We find that the value associated with TUS and BRD diagnosis information is between $0.88/head and $13.44/head and depends on BRD incidence rate, feed price, and feeder price. Depending on the cost to the farm, it may be beneficial to implement this as a way to manage BRD damage, which we know to influence calf growth and efficiency.
