Previous issue date: 2017-09-19 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The present dissertation exposes the results of the research realized in the Center of Female Social Reintegration in the city of Foz do Iguaçu (CRESF). The general objective of the reseach was discuss the prison institution and it's porosity, using as exemple the language of the internal, that is, the use and the non use of different forms of comunication, action where we can observe the relation that each internal has with the prison institution and between them. It was possible to observe a relation between the use and non use of certain forms of comunication among the internals and how they stand front of the institutionalization. The importance of this work is evidenced, considering the statistical data. Currently, Brasil has six times the amount of imprisoned of the end of 80's decade, owning the fifth largest female imprisoned population. The research was produced from the bibliographical revision about the theme, analysis of disponibilized data by the administration of the prison ant the realization of direct observation in CRESF for approximately one year. With the research was possible to evidence that the total institution, concept defended by Erving Goffman, presents porosity in the case fo the referenced female prison. In this sense, affirms that doesn't have a mortification of the "me" in a homogeneous way that reach all the internals. The use or non-use of the language elaborated by the internals reveals the diversity existent and the relation that each internal has with the institution, how some consider the prison a place or a non-place.

Ženy v oranžovém: Analýza vztahů a moci v totální instituci ženského vězení / Women in orange: Analysis of the relationship and the power in a total institution of female prisonBalatková, Dominika January 2015 (has links)
5 Abstract This diploma thesis focuses on the structure of relationships and the influence of power in the documentary image of the total institution of female prisons. The total institution is, seen from the outside, an impenetrable institution. This fact enables us to analyse the structure of relationships and the influence of power more easily than in an open surroundings. The environment of female prisons is also defined from the point of view of gender - gender socialises us, we constantly refer to gender, gender is an organising principle. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find the answer where to gender projects itself in the environment of ostensibly no-gender determination. The research of the thesis defines the study of a docusoap, broadcasted at Nova TV in 2015. The study also contains an analysis of an interview with the producer of the show. Based on this analysis I come to the conclusion that within the documentary image of female prisons it is visible that the prison keeps the stereotyped image of a "real" woman and the whole prison is run according to this model. This means that gender stereotypes mirror mainly in everyday functions of the prison. The next reflection of gender stereotypes is evident in the relationships between the inmates themselves and further differentiation between...

Previous issue date: 2014-08-29 / The objective of this research was to analyse the preparatory course for Female Prison Officers, held in the state of Paraiba between 2008 and 2013 and its relation with training in human rights. The methodology employed included bibliographic research in books, scientific articles, theses and dissertations which dealt with the issue; documentary research in the School of Prison Management; and interviews with ten prison officers who work at the Maria Julia Maranhão Centre of Female Re-education (CRFMJM). Data collection was carried out between October 2013 and February 2014. The interviews were recorded and the data organised and analysed making use of Bardin‟s (2002) technique for the analysis of content. The dissertation is organized in fourth chapters: the first deals with questions about the prison as a social system and the work of the prison staff; the second discusses the education and training of prison staff considering the guide-lines offered by specific legal documents; the third discusses the issue of education in human rights in the process of prison officer training; and the fourth is dedicated to reflections on the data collected. Our systematisation of the discussion on the data allowed us to conclude, in general terms, that the course informed more than formed the officers concerning their functions in the prison and did not take the training of officers based on the principles of human rights as its chief goal. For this reason, we propose the use of a methodology founded on education in human rights for the training of prison staff.
