Organizácia detského letného tábora so zameraním na prvú pomoc a ochranu obyvateľstva / Organization of children's summer camp with a focus on first aid and protection of the population

MINÁRIK, Matej January 2018 (has links)
The key aim of this thesis was to create a complex and detailed guide for organization of a children's camp focusing on the first aid and population protection. Based on the guide, a lay reader will be able to create their own camp and that without any experience with the issue. Among partial aims, preparing material for camp's realization including the camp's narrative preparation, assessing program and games, and producing teaching materials for the program and camp leaders training were listed. Another partial aim was the camp execution and overall detailed assessment. In a theoretical part of the thesis, we took a closer look into the issue of free time pedagogy and its influence on child upbringing. We also wrote what kind and type of camps we know and what camp organization involves, including legislation, budget and financing, activities and program structure. In the thesis results, we describe an exact organization procedure of our own camp focusing on the first aid and population protection, which took place from July 30, 2017 to August 6, 2017 in Rajecká Lesná. The exact same procedure is described as a guide, which includes two parts, the preparation organized before the beginning of the camp and the camp's execution itself. The preparation part involves the grounds selection, budget and financing determination, and specifically determined monthly preparation schedule. The realization part includes the camp's motivational narrative, a whole-camp game, the manuals for camp leaders and a general framework program for the specific camp days. The days are individually stated in the precise timetable which includes a program prepared for the given camp focus. In the discussion, we assess the success of the camp execution along with the individual days description. We believe this thesis will serve as a basis for organization of the camps with the similar focus in the future.

Orientador: Izilda Esmenia Muglia Araujo / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Ciencias Medicas / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-14T03:41:55Z (GMT). Sugere-se atenção ao risco do despreparo para atuar de maneira adequada em situação de emergência / Abstract: Two aspects are basic and are related to survival in out of the hospital emergency situations: first call to specialized services and the layperson's action. The layperson's qualification for attendance in emergency is fundamental. The training in first aid must allow to the retention and the application of the knowledge. As foreseen in the Code of Brazilian Transit it is required all the citizens who want to get their driver's license or have it suspense, to frequent the theoric course with 30 hours/lessons, the Courses of Formation of Conductors (CFC). Among the boarded subjects in this course there is the first aid with a total schedule six hours/lessons. The objectives of this study have been: to verify the CFC contribution in the qualification of the population for the first aid answer; evaluate the profile and the formation of instructors; to verify how the classes are developed; to verify which contents are offered and to identify the level of retention of the acquired content. The instructors (subjects-1) had been caracterized by interview and the classes attended for the knowledge of the contents, following a comment guide. The same questionnaire was applied in three stages to the candidates (subjects-1): pre (Stage I), post (Stage II) and after three months CFC (Stage III). It was attended classes of three instructors in the available periods. The sample of the subjects-1 constituted of 2/3 (66,7%) female, age among 30/ years, 1/3 (33,4%) attended a superior course and the other two had concluded high school, they have acted for more than five years and 2/3 (66,7%) have worked more than one driving school, only 1/3 (33,4%) have a pedagogical preparation, 1/3 (33,4%) have participated of the first aid course offered by the rescuers. It was observed semilanties in the classes, having distinction in the didactic of the instructors. The offered contents are based on the books propagated by the Conselho Nacional de Trânsito (CONTRAN) and it contains seven main topics: introduction, aid omission, sequence of the first aid actions, drive of resources in accident case, verification of the general conditions of the victim, cares with the victim and exercises. The sample of subjects-2 was constituted by 100, 71% male, average age of 39,9(±13,87) years and 41,8% had concluded high school. As the performance of the subjevts-2, it was observed that the average grade in Stage I was of 6,2, in the II of 7,1 and in the III of 6,4 with differences among Stages I and II, II and III (p<0,001). There wasn't a significant differences if considering the variable first qualification/ reneuval, period or instructor. Temporary assimilation of the content without retention of the knowledge. The required first aid course seems not to reach the intentions, since the licenses' driver doesn't hold back the acquired knowledge. So it's suggested to pay attention to the risk of the unpreparedness act in emergency situation / Mestrado / Enfermagem e Trabalho / Mestre em Enfermagem

Title: First aid in drowning - knowledge and methodology of teaching pupils of the second grade of elementary school Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine the theoretical knowledge of first aid for drowning man of students in the second grade of elementary schools and to create a model lesson suitable for these students. Methods: In the theoretical part of thesis was used research of literature in the first aid and water rescue. The research was conducted by interviewing, the form of survey. Analysis method (Non-numerical one-dimensional analysis) was used for sorting the information which were obtained, synthesis metod was used in their summary. Results: The knowledge of pupils at our elementary schools, picked by us, about the safety rules of water behavior is sufficient. On the other hand, knowledge of specific first aid to drowning man is insufficient. In some cases, there were answers which had more than 90% success, but in the basic questions about behaviour in specific situations, almost 2/3 respondents answered badly. Keywords: First Aid, Water Rescue, Framework Educational Program.

Znalosti o předlékařské první pomoci u vybraných žáků ZŠ / Amateur first aid knowledge of selected pupils of an elementary school

Fialová, Jitka January 2017 (has links)
The main goal of this thesis is to analyse the level of amateur first aid knowledge of pupils from grades 6. to 9. at a particular primary school in Dobříš. To achieve this, I utilised partial goals, through which I was trying to find out whether the knowledge of grade 8. pupils of the chosen school was influenced by the fact that there are no lessons taught about theoretical amateur first aid in grade 7. Further, I was trying to establish, if grade 9.pupils have better knowledge of the problem compared to grade 6.pupils; and what grade 9.pupils of the chosen school know about amateur first aid. I was also interested in the fact whether there was any difference in the knowledge of this field between girls and boys. My thesis consists of a theoretical part, in which I researched the given problematic with the help of academic resources, handbooks and other sources. The keystone of the second part, the practical one, is a questionnaire, through which I surveyed the knowledge of the pupils, and then analysed the collected data. The conclusion is made up of general and actual oucomes for subsequent pedagogical application, not only for me, but also for out school.

Development of a Novel Method to Reduce the Impact of Cutaneous chemical attacks

Davis, Stefan J., Wise, William R., Covington, A. D., Petter, J., Reip, P. 26 June 2019 (has links)
Content: Acid attacks are a global problem: from 2011 to 2016 there were 1,464 incidents involving a corrosive substance in London alone. The most common chemicals used in these attacks are sulfuric, nitric and hydrochloric acids. Concentrated solutions of strongly alkaline substances including sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite are also used. Current first-aid advice suggests diluting the exposed area with water and transfer to a hospital for further treatment. An immediate neutralisation treatment is avoided as incorrect identification of the corrosive could worsen the damage. In addition, there are concerns the enthalpy of solvation and neutralisation causes secondary burns. These limitations demonstrate the need for an amphoteric neutralising treatment with a low enthalpy of neutralisation. Aqueous formulations of natural water-based surfactants with natural plant-based substances have been trialled as neutralisers of sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. pH titrations demonstrated that the natural formulations are amphoteric, capable of effectively neutralising acidic and alkaline corrosives with minimal heat of neutralisation and no gas evolution. In addition, the studies have shown that the formulations can reduce oxidisers such as sodium hypochlorite. The experiments compared intact collagen with attacked but untreated collagen and collagen that had a corrosive applied but followed by treatment at different time intervals. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed the reaction with concentrated sulfuric acid is rapid; significant collapse and gelatinisation of the fibre structure was observed within 5 seconds. Pigskin was utilised to model human skin: the observations demonstrated the importance of the epidermis in protecting the skin from chemical damage. Five minutes exposure to sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite did not penetrate the epidermis, although damage was observed. The formulations of natural products recently tested at the University of Northampton have been shown to mitigate secondary chemical burns, whereas treatment with water alone resulted in secondary burns due to residual corrosive in the skin structure not being neutralised. The trials indicate that the product could be usefully applied by first responders and emergency services personnel. Take-Away: The findings have the potential to change current first-aid reccomendations by demonstrating an applicable neutralisation mechanism, whereas neutralisation with sodium bicarbonate has been shown to cause further damage to skin structure via gas evolution. Formulations of natural products have been shown to mitigate secondary chemical burns, whereas treatment with water resulted in secondary burns due to residual corrosive in the skin structure not being neutralised. Trials indicate these natural formulations could be usefully applied by first responders and emergency services personnel.

Analýza miskoncepcí v první pomoci u pedagogů základních škol a gymnázií v České republice / Analysis of First Aid Misconceptions among Teachers at Elementary and Grammar Schools in the Czech Republic

Zvěřinová, Gabriela January 2018 (has links)
Appropriate first aid should be one of the basic skills every citizen has. This obligation is based on the law of the Czech Republic. The European Resuscitation Council regularly publishes recommended procedures for resuscitation and first aid, called the Guidelines (currently "2015"). This document defines the correct procedures, that should be followed when providing or teaching first aid. Nonetheless, misconceptions often persist in the common population. This is often the case of outdates procedures, inaccuracies or myths that can significantly reduce the chance of convalescence of even endanger the life of the injured person. Teachers encounter pupils who require appropriate treatment of first aid. Therefore they should be trained in current first aid procedures and thus form a suitable focus group for this reaserch. This diploma thesis aimed to describe the extension of misconceptions in first aid and to find the most frequent sources involved in disseminating this information. Two groups of the Czech teachers were analysed - science teachers and teachers of other selected subjects. Through the presented case studies, the level of knowledge in the field of first aid (the extension of misconceptions) was determined as well as where the respondent obtained the given information. Key words first...
