Antécédents, genèse, analogies / The upper floor colonnades in the houses of Pompeii, Herculanum and Oplontis. Antecedent, genesis, analogies

Suaudeau, Jacques 12 January 2017 (has links)
The archaeological exploration of the sites of the cities buried on August 24th, 79 under the ashes and lapilli from erupting Vesuvius revealed the presence of colonnades in the upper floors of some (31) of the houses so brought to light, colonnades through which certain rooms of these upper floors communicated with the outside, the atrium, the peristyle, the garden or the street. These colonnades are generally constituted by four small columns of an average height of 2,10 m, distant about 160 cms one of the other one (inter axial distance), comprised between two antae, the whole realizing a window about 8m wide and 2 meters high. Two groups of houses endowed with such upper floor colonnades can be distinguished. The most homogeneous and the most substantial group ( 11 houses), which also corresponds to the oldest houses is constituted by houses with " cenaculum with colonnade ". In which the upper floor colonnade and the room situated at the back of it are situated mostly above the tablinum. The second group of houses presenting an upper floor colonnade corresponds to larger, more recent houses, with a peristyle, in which the upper floor colonnade opens on the peristyle (9 houses). The study of the origins of these upper floor colonnades shows that these two types of upper floor Pompeian colonnades correspond to two types of Hellenistic contribution: - The first type, original, of the cenaculum with colonnade, placed over the tablinum, would have drawn its inspiration from the Etruscan traditions, through the emergence of the italico-Roman Domus ; - The second type, later, of the colonnaded opening on the peristyle, evolving towards a portico built over the portico of the peristyle, would have drawn its inspiration from the Hellenistic stoai with superimposed porticoes, and from the superimposed porticoes of the Macedonian and Pergamon "basileia".

Vaz, Viviane Visnardi, 1987- 26 August 2018 (has links)
Orientadores: Rosa Cristina Cecche Lintz, Marco Antonio Carnio / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Tecnologia / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-26T15:22:30Z (GMT). The concrete has desirable structural properties such as high compressive strength, stiffness and durability, but at the same time it has some limitations such as low deformability and rapid crack propagation when subjected to tensile stresses. The use of fibers as reinforcement material for the concrete is an alternative to minimize the limitations of this material. The objective of this report is to evaluate the mechanical behavior of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) and verify the viability of the application of GFRC in interlocked floor blocks. The choice of recipe was made assuming the Brazilian Standard establishes floor with pedestrian traffic, light vehicles and line commercial vehicles minimum characteristic compressive strength of 35 MPa and special vehicle traffic floors and requests can produce marked effects of abrasion minimum characteristic compressive strength of 50 MPa. The analysis of the results shows that the addition of concrete to the fibers provides increased flexural tensile strength and residual flexural tensile strength post-cracking increases with increasing content glass fibers in the mixture. It was also verified an increase in the compressive strength of interlocked floor blocks made with glass fiber reinforced concrete making it possible the application of these recipe in the floors with special vehicle traffic, in accordance with the limits set by the Brazilian Standard / Mestrado / Ciência dos Materiais / Mestra em Tecnologia

The concrete is the matrix and the reinforcement are fibers. In Brazil, it started to be used in the decade of 90, and nowadays it´s one of the most efficient solution for industrial floors, witch are very important structures because the whole production consists on it. A problem with these kind of floors is that it creates financial damages in the occurrence of interruption of industrial activities. Some fibers had been studied as an addition to the concrete, mostly the steel ones. The main types of concrete floors had been boarded, with emphasis on the reinforced with steel fiber, looking for it´s characteristics, interactions fiber x matrix, efficiency parameters, quality control, main pathologies and therapies, as well as existent loads and dimensions. It was concluded that the fiber steel performance has an important role in the control of propagation of the cracks, increasing the residual strength factors, even being able to increase the capacity of the structure, depending on the volume of fiber steel that is applied. Seidlová, Michaela January 2008 (has links)
Nowdays, an emphasis is plased on an antibacterial properties of various products, including floor and coating materials. This work is about an testing of effectivity of the chosen antibacterial agents in the water born and solvent free floor systems which are epoxide or polyurethane based. As first step, the most suitable representative of each floor system was chosen, the silver based agents (respectively silver anion Ag+ based) which should have an antibacterial effect when incorporated into the floor system was chosen. The selected ones are Ag/SiO2, Ag/TiO2, Ag/Al2O3, Ag/ZnO, Ag/BaO, Ag/zeolite, AgI. The necessary was a creating of the test method which has to offer exact and reproducable outputs. At the begining, the method came out from the norms ČSN EN ISO 20645 Squared textiles – Determination of antibacterial activity – Test of diffusion throught the agar plate, ČSN 79 3880 Testing of antimicrobial properties of material and product of boot industry, Antifugal and antibacterial properties. Testing by this way did not bring repriducable outputs. Only the bacterial strains Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus was used according to the norms. The method of recultivation was used for testing. The process is: an application of the coating on the bottom of the Petri´s dish, curing, appplication of the bacterial solution, cultivation for 24 hours at 37 °C, inoculation onto the agar in the Petri´s dish, cultivation for 24 hours at 37 °C, interpretation of the grow/inhibition of the bacteries. The results offer the overview about the advantages and disadvantages of each antibacterial agent in the chosen systems.
